warm welcome at the reception, nice and cosy room, very rich breakfast, cental loaction in the old town of Murten

it was cold during dinner in the restaurant as there was no insulation and just a patio heater

The staff were wonderful and very helpful

The room was too warm because the window had been shut prior to my arrival. The fan helped to cool the room, but during really warm weather it would be far worse

it was quite hot, in the room no airco (exceptionally hot for CH as well that time) but staff did most possible with fans to make the best of it.

Hotel is in a great location away from main street of Murten and tourist traffic with ability to park car within walking distance of the Hotel, views from restaurant and breakfast room across Murtensee make for a very pleasurable and easy dining experience, overall amenities good.

Website information stated English spoken, receptionist openly stated that their English was very poor and they spoke to my local friends instead, also had trouble at restaurant where the waiter either didn't speak English or aloofly refused and once again spoke to my friends instead leaving me feeling very unwelcome. I booked dinner at restaurant two weeks before arrival and stated that one of our group suffered from Celiac Disease, this information was acknowledged by the Hotel but not passed on to the restaurant staff, meaning we had to go through the whole "do you have Gluten Free" routine, the service at the restaurant was extremely slow compared to all the other diners around us, leaving us feeling unwelcome and turning what was hoped to be a pleasurable experience into a prolonged, frustrating and unpalatable experience. The "Single Bed" in the room was in fact a pull out sofa and was extremely uncomfortable, the air conditioning was an after-thought and blew the hot exhaust air back into the room and the ceiling fan made a lot of noise but not much else, and finally the windows of the room open up onto a common area meaning that we were all woken up at 5:30 AM when the group of people travelling together started yelling at each other across the space and listening to their radios at volume.

A very nice hotel with an excellent location, the reception staff very friendly. Breakfast was good and the view from the restaurant in the mornings is perfect.
