The building is gorgeous and the location is unbeatable. Is not only a scenic spot, but it's also a handy starting point to visit the city uphill. The metro station is literally across the street. A big extra point goes for the staff: Not only were they helpful and ready to cover our needs, they were also genuinely kind and cheerful. We want to be back in the summer.
PS: Ask for an omelette in the kitchen. They were superb.
Our first room (Close to the boudoir and SPA) didn't have good acoustic isolation, so we decided to move to a suite in the tower. This change solved the problem and came with a great view over the lake.

-The room was very clean and modern with strong AC
-Breakfast was good
-We got upgraded at check-in and the room we got was very spacious
-Staffs were helpful
-I love the body wash and body lotion offered! High quality with nice scent
-We stayed in a lake view room on the 1F but the view was partially blocked by the trees. It was still nice but could be better if you stay on higher levels.
-Not the hotel’s issue but the birds at the breakfast site were quite annoying
-A bit pricey

One of the best service I’ve come upon. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable!

Location served us well. View of lake is spectacular. Bus (with complimentary pass) very convenient. Wonderful walking city if you’re okay with hills, bus is great.
Other people commented that they gave upgrades if available. Room was nice but smaller than expected. Person at the front desk said none available but we could talk with a manager. He didn’t ask for us or help us find the manager.

Classy hotel in a lovely historic building but with all the mod cons.
Nice good size room overlooking the lake and mountains.
A few minutes walk to the Metro that is free and connects with the main Railway Station and city centre.

Great location and excellent hotel.
We were given a voucher for 20% off 2 drinks at the bar. We presented the voucher at checkout for our discount off our bar bill but it was refused because it wasn’t presented at the time of ordering the drinks. No need for this silly rule and puts us off ever rebooking. What a shame for such a small thing.

Charming very well appointed hotel located in a former castle on the lakeside. The room and the facilities were outstanding
Servicing of the room was inexplicably not completed until nearly 6pm on two successive days.

The Hotel was great. The room was nice and big, and clean. They gave us 2 fans because it was hot in the room. But we like it COLD to sleep. Great location right in the middle of town. Easy drive to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.

Amazing view of course
Some of the staff was rude. They wouldn't look at you in the restaurant/bar area so people were constantly waving them down.
We went for lunch in the hotel and gave us the dinner menu instead so the bill was astronomical. The prices in the restaurant and bar are way overpriced.
My 80 year old mom's room was extremely hot and the A/C wasn't working. We kept complaining that they needed to move her but instead they brought a plug in fan. Not what I paid for.
The whole spa area was closed for painting and we were not told that.

Our room was amazing. Very large with a great view of the city and lake. The bed was amazedly comfortable with sheets/comforter/pillows fabulous.

Well located in an historic building…room was nice and the bed comfortable
The young lady on reception was very nice but the young guy we dealt with made a few mistakes…e g only providing a transport card for me and not my wife despite her being present the whole time.
We arrived at 15.00 as our check in time was 15.00 but was told we had to wait till 17.30 before our room was ready…I told them that wasn’t ideal for us it didn’t seem to matter and the room became available at 17.17….they offered an upgrade and a free drink which was nice but I would have preferred to be able to check in at the conformed time..
Also when we were in the outdoor lounge area we sat with 2 empty glasses for at least 30-40 minutes before giving up on getting service for another drink…like we were invisible.
