Location is great and the boat ride one to the beach side was lovely.
Aside from the view, the rooms are rather average. Needed more hooks for towels (there was only one in the bathroom), a luggage rack and higher quality linens would have been nice (specifically sheets, fluffier duvet, etc).

This is a really well known, colonial hotel that is nestled in the centre of George Town with an amazing view of the ocean and Stocking Island. The staff are amazing. So friendly and make you feel very welcome. On the main land and at the Beach Club. I cannot fault them and they totally made our stay. The rooms do not all look like the ones on their website so be mindful of this. Most of them are very basic (no drawers for clothes) no USB sockets and some of the decor and fixtures and fittings are in need of some TLC. It’s an old hotel, with lots of charm and character. We asked for 3 rooms for our family and requested they be next too or close to each other, which was kindly arranged for us. Our ocean view room was a bit dark and there were some minor things that weren’t right and we got moved to a room that actually looked like the one on their website, which was great and that made our stay. The food in the hotel restaurant was a bit expensive for what you get and not everything is on the menu, but we loved our stay and would 100% return again. Having the regular boat service to Stocking Island is a huge bonus. The beach club is so great - the island is so nicely landscaped with little pathways lined with gorgeous flowers and shrubs. Then you get blown away by the sand and colours of the ocean. It’s heaven on earth. Chat n Chill is a little water walk around the rocks too. Ticked all the boxes for us.
That the hotel needed a bit of TLC.

Very friendly staff! They called in advance to help arrange airport transportation and provided restaurant and excursion recommendations. Local knowledge is always helpful!
The Beach Club on Stocking Island is a wonderful amenity with the resort's own water taxi back and forth included. Beautiful sand, clear water, lounge chairs, hammocks, umbrellas, bar...all you could ask for a day at the beach.
Highly recommend the conch salad at the stand there. Bring cash for that and order about 30 minutes before you want to eat.
First boat to the Beach Club at Stocking Island is 11am. For early birds like us, we'd like an earlier option.
Lacking posted signage between the Peace and Plenty dock on Stocking Island and the Beach Club. Easy to get lost in the winding sidewalks to all the cottages.
Rookie mistake on our part: would like to have known about the additional resort fees when we booked. Totally worth it, but not the kind of surprise you want on a vacation budget.

I thought the staff was really friendly and that was our favorite part. The beds were comfortable.
The bedrooms need serious cleaning. Our bathroom door was falling apart. Also, there needs to be a legitimate lock on the door, not a tiny little closet lock. The outdoor furniture is incredibly rusted. The restaurant was inconsistent in its menu offerings and it took 20-25 minutes to get even a glass of water. We felt really bamboozled by this hotel, it could certainly use an upgrade. The wifi was inconsistent which was frustrating as it rained most of our trip. Oh and the power randomly went out multiple times as well as one morning we woke up and had no water. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. The majority of the communication about the hotel and its offerings was wrong or also inconsistent. Just be prepared.

We went for a Regatta and had magnificent views from our balcony of the race starts and finishes. All of the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
The chef has overly complicated all of the menus for an island resort so not all items were available. The food was, however, pretty good. Additionally, more simple local specialties should have been included in the menu selection. Staff very friendly but did a lot of walking back and forth seemingly without purpose. A little training would go a long way.

very slow dinner service

Good , clean, spacious rooms
Central location but quiet, amazing views
Convenience of the beach club
Things to consider improving
- Doors and knobs that work properly, easily and not so loud
- availability of beach towels or at least provide an alternative
- beach club hours to start earlier than 11am
- staff to provide more information and be more helpful (eg i didnt even know there was a water shuttle until i asked)
- improve food overall, I had a lobster Mac and cheese that took 45min that had no lobster and was smaller than the palm of my hand. Quality of food was very far from the price charged
-provide bathrooms for departing guests that need to check out as 11am (it is a beach clube after all)
-TV in the room didnt work, but since you feel like you are asking a favour to staff, I didnt bother

Staff, Food and view were amazing. The Beach Club and shuttle were ideal.
Room was adequate for money.. older property but that's its charm. Quintessential old Bahamas...
Nothing, but feedback would be to have
Local music during the bbq. Dj was nice but most come to the bahamas to experience the culture not to hear the spice Girls during dinner.
Have the pool bar open later for socializing during busy evenings. And local info in rooms or map of the island especially the must sees.

The rooms are clean and simple with an amazing view of the beautiful Exuma water. We loved the ability to take the water shuttle to the Beach Club and lunch and fun in the beautiful, clear water!
The staff at the hotel and beach club were very nice!
Eating at the hotel was difficult due to most items being unavailable. Sushi Happy Hour was advertised and on the Dinner menu but was not available on any night. There was a BBQ Night but only 2 meat items were available. We ate at the hotel on our first night and there were very few Entree items available. However, the fish entree was very good!
We had to wait 15 minutes before someone came to our table and we had to request water refills several times. When we finished eating, we had to wait 20 minutes for our ticket to be brought to us to pay. It took a very long time to get service, eat and pay.

The only thing this property has going for it is the beach club…..although it took 2 hours to get our hamburger.
Rooms were small and old and there was a BIG hole where the pool should have been. Talked to Steve, claiming to be one of the owners and he really didn’t care we were upset. paid over $400/night for a 1 star hotel experience.

View from the room, water shuttle service to Stocking Island, access to the Beach Club, restaurant and bars.
The pool was out of order, we’ll have to follow up to get our final bill

The boat across to Stocking Island was excellent and the beach there was super. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. A really fabulous place!

I liked that the property was in walking distance to the market (which is expensive) and they use US CURRENCY and dollars. but there was a nice smoothie and drink stand near by and liquor store. I also liked the boat ride to stocking island.
I don’t like the fact we were told on arrival we will be charged 42$ us a day just to use Wi-Fi and have access to beach towels (those are normally complimentary at resorts) Pretty much everything was over priced including drinks I paid $13-14 for a simple top-shelf drink. We didn’t get room service until the last day because they didn’t have a extra key to our room. The Wi-Fi sucks! you’ll be luck to get a good 2 mins of use before it goes out again.

Great water taxi, awesome staff, and fantastic food.

The room had everything we needed for our family of five for one night- good beds, nice kitchen, clean bathroom, good wifi. The only thing that was lacking was a more comfortable pull out couch where my son slept. But he's 17 and the size of a man, so the thin mattress was not comfortable. Also the master bedroom did not have a closet so it was hard to hang anything up. But that was no big deal. Great value. Great location. Super friendly staff.
Couch pull out mattress was super uncomfortable. Would like a closet in master bedroom. And would like a plug in the bathroom so you can see yourself while drying your hair.

The hotel was nicely decorated and newly renovated. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we had a really nice view to the ocean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food and wine were excellent. The free taxi to Stolking Island and the resort there were great. The bar staff at the resort are super friendly and attentive and go out of their way to make excellent cocktails. We enjoyed trying to use the stand up paddle boards but it was too windy to do much. My husband loved the hamburgers at their resort. Overall, we very much enjoyed staying here.
Some of the staff were not wearing their masks! In particular the receptionist who works in the evenings. I asked her to please put on her mask (the first day, while we were talking to her and she was clearly not pleased but complied). But then, on every other night, we saw her without her mask on and it wasn't comfortable to keep raising the issue. Also, some guests and locals would walk in and not bother to use their mask and no one would say anything. This was extremely stressful given that we took great care to get vaccinated and use our mask and don't want to get covid. There was also some disorganization with arranging tours and car rentals. They seem to have poor communciation between change of shifts. Since we would speak to someone in the late afternoon to arrange a reservation to only have the reservation lost or mismanaged by the next person who didn't receive all the info from the person who had arranged it. We almost missed our boat tour because we were told the wrong time to be there. Fortunately it all worked out in the end. The resort at Stolking Island could offer more variety in terms of food.

The location is perfect. You got grocery store, souvenir stands, 2 liquor stores, few cafes and bars in couple minutes walking distance. Covid testing place across the street.
The beach (short free boat ride away) is great, and you can hang around bar and people or after short walk enjoy peace all by yourself. Can take kayak or paddle boards and go even further.
We liked our beds, food in restaurant was good enough.
Pricey, both room and restaurant, especially alcohol.
Woulds like to have some plates/cups//glasses/silverware in the room. Microwave would be nice too.
One day we did not get room cleaned, for no reason.
If you get room with pool view, music is loud and few times no one bothered to turn it foo at night (hint - turn it off yourself, the control panel inside pool bar, right wall)
