The front bedroom does suffer from road noise. I appreciate this is not within the control of the owners but is disruptive on summer mornings when you need the windows open.

We had a lovely stay at Wanslea - the hosts were lovely and accommodating from the start. The room was super clean and well equipped with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and we loved being able to choose exactly what we wanted from the menu! Would definitely recommend!

I stayed 3 nights in a single room. Wanslea Guest House is close to the piers of Ambleside and also close to the city centre. From the backdoor starts a beautiful hike to Wansfell Pike. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. You get to choose from a breakfast menu the day before und they also have cereal. The breakfast itself was delicious! The owners were really nice and so helpful, gave recommendations for hikes and if you need anything, they'll make it possible. Parking is free and you get discount for some restaurants in Ambleside.

Staff were very attentive and nice, everything was clean and as described. Great breakfast. Arrived a little after the check in time but the owner kindly waited for us and was very welcoming. The room was very warm all night. Cannot praise the hosting and friendliness of the owners enough!

The room was a little bit dark, but was very pleasant and well equipped. The bedside lamps were good, but maybe the main light (and in the bathroom) could do with an update.

Breakfast was amazing, as well as choice of fresh fruit and cereal.

This is a very well run B&B, it’s spotlessly clean, communication is great before you arrive. Steve & Tina are friendly and great with advice. The breakfast is excellent, they only have a 45 min window for it from 8-8:45, which isn’t a problem for me but something to bare in mind if your not an early riser (though most people in the Lakes are up and about) Anything you need replenishing in the room you just ask for and it’s there by the time you get back. We were in room 1, extremely good sized, bed was a double & very comfy but we are only 5ft9 & feet at the bottom, not a problem but maybe check if there are longer beds in other rooms if you are tall. There’s parking for 4 cars outside property & then a pass for the local car park 1 min walk away… go with this option if you are out and about in your vehicle during the day as it’s easier to get in and out of. Location for town is 5-9 min walk. Would definitely stay here again
