We love it here sadly on this occasion we did find some amount of uncleanliness in room including receipts from March which we haven’t experienced before so hope this is a one off

Good location, room size

Poor pool reception due not clear pool entrance no signs or precise directions, main hotel door entrance broke, poor breakfast for the price of 15£. Better do not pay for it.

Room smelt of cigarette smoke and we far too hot. Tried to turn down radiator but couldn’t . Bathroom a bit tired

Welcoming knowledgeable staff Donna in tasteful fun fancy dress and Carl helpful. Fun decorations for Halloween and for half term. Incredible pumpkin craving competition by staff teams on display. Excellent room with all you'd want in terms of facilities.quiet at night. Super buffet choice at breakfast all well presented cooked fresh and items topped up regularly. Fun for kids pancakes machine! Near to canal for walks. Excellant swimming pool clean changing area lockers hairdriers etc all available other areas of spa not tried all in new condition. Well equipped gym. Good car parking and drop off. All round full marks in keeping with the area. Has meals on offer also near pubs and other resturants.

Stat nav sends people to back of car park no entry so long route around to find front entrance - check map beforehand as many guests trying to find way in..TV good choice of channels on swizzle to change angle. However maybe remote batteries were low -impossible to change channel or volume so had to pull out ariel from back to turn it off. I found room rather too hot but weather changable this time of year. Fascinating deco from previous era but actually a wonderful step back in time.

The staff were lovely and the food was good.

The room was very shabby with worn wood surfaces and a bathroom not well cleaned.

Car Parking Walking distance of large shopping centre. Walking distance of 2 restaurants serving good selection of food.

The pillows were extremely uncomfortable. There was a continuous drumming noise seemingly coming from above the room which kept us awake for most of the night. The "a la carte" restaurant menu was totally unsatisfactory being extremely limited in choice and poor in value The included breakfast was very unsatisfactory. The quality was poor and because of the self service set up the food was cold by the time you were able to get seated and start eating. The self service toaster was a disaster because it either did not work or burnt the toast. The above would be expected in a 2 star hotel.

Friendliness of staff facilities available to you of booking a room the breakfast was by far the best for selection and freshness replenished regularly with juice tea and coffee also available

The fact there isn't really a vegetarian option for breakfast no vegan sausage or any meat alternative for my partner who is a vegetarian shower in bedroom a bit outdated and hard to turn on

The rooms were very large and it was nice to have an opening window.

Furnishings and bathroom were ‘tired’ and in need of refurbishment.

I up grade with booking.com and my room was no diffrent from the other room I booked

Maybe if it was a bit more modern then it would’ve been 100% worth the money

•NO fridge in the room to cool my water for during the night. If I want it in the fridge I’d have to keep going downstairs for my water, or upgrade. •Online I chose the river view & got the roof & parts of the car park view, because they gave my room to someone else Not happy that at breakfast there was NO SCRAMBLED EGG

Unfortunately the chef did not turn up to prepare breakfast the morning of our stay so had to wait a short while for cooked but the other breakfast staff did an excellent job of cooking while we had cereal etc. Well done. Our suite was excellent.

It’s close to all of the amenities.

The staff were helpful, swimming pool was great with kids, lovely food and a fan for the heat. Lovely location by the canal also.

Comfortable and clean accomodation. Plenty to choose from for breakfast and very tasty. Meals in the evening were excellent with plenty of choice, service also excellent with polite and friendly staff.

Steps to the entrance from the car park. More accessable access required you to walk a long way round. No other dislikes from ourselves.

The booking in was simple and efficient. The £5 voucher towards food being a club room guest was a nice bonus.

Breakfast, had it not been included in the room price it would have been a rip off. Very basic, badly laid out, example, we asked for scrambled egg, received a cut up omelette!!!!! The menu mis named a lot of the dishes, ie ploughman's sandwich was in fact a cheese and pickle one, why not say 'cheese and pickle sandwich'?

A very pleasant area for hotel and It was near a shopping centre. The use of the swimming pool and spa.

The breakfast was below usual standards. There was no choice of bread just thin slices of white and 50/50, which was like paper when trying to butter, it would have been nice if there was a better choice.ie, bloomer, rolls. The bacon was streaky and not back rashers. The fried eggs were all hard yolks. Not much choice of fresh fruit.

Room was very comfy and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were excellent.

Could have been scrambled eggs as a breakfast option. Had 2 knocks on the door by housekeeping about an hour apart to see if we had checked out after already informing the hotel that we were leaving at 12pm

Excellent location as we were visiting a dear friend who was in hospital . Rooms clean , fresh & breakfast was superb. Every member of staff were friendly & very helpful
