Staff are fantastic, the room and communal areas were immaculate, wireless keys for the rooms which didn't seem to have the issues that the swipe cards did on our last stay, location is good, free parking for guests, the rooms are well maintained (no scuffs on the paint, all lights working, etc) but the wardrobes/bathroom tiles (obviously awkward to replace) do age the rooms, restaurant on site but we've only tried coffee and pastries. We were in a room that faced out onto the road and barely noticed any traffic noise.

The bed! Both my partner and I woke up aching after a night on that mattress. Neither of us managed to sleep more than 4 hours for tossing and turning. We didn't expect this as we've stayed previously and found the bed in a different room very comfortable. Only other minor faults I could find would be the stinginess of the tea tray items or how thin the loo roll is.

Quick and friendly check-in. 30 mins steady walk from the arena. Room was large, clean and warm. Breakfast was fresh. Great choices of milk alternatives. Good sized free car park for those staying.

Room was 'joined' with another room and both sides could hear each other... like hear everything.

Great helpful staff - professional appearance and manner. Great room - comfy clean. Menu in restaurant was good value and the food was great. I was able to watch the F1 at 6am in the foyer with a cuppa - fab!

A power socket near to the bed for my charger - mine wasn't a USB port connection. More milk and tea needed - but I asked for it and it was supplied.

Excellent Staff

The room was clean, although basic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was good, close enough to the centre to walk in, but not slap bang in the middle with all the honking traffic. Breakfast was lovely.

Upon checking in, they had no record of our booking, even though it was paid for. Was sorted out fine in the end. But what if the hotel was fully booked, and someone had our room? Bit strange there was no water in the room with the tea/coffee. There wasn't any heating in the bathroom, not much of an issue now, but come winter it will be freezing. The window vent had fallen down so there was a gap above the window, and you could hear everything outside, including everytime someone drove over a loose man hole cover. Unfortunately I hardly slept the 2 nights we were there, slept just on the mattress with no pillow, as they were uncomfortable. The bathroom decor was very dated, with a few cracked floor tiles and bodgy silicone. Could always hear a squeaky door outside our room, and people walking above us, like in a house.

Charged a fortune because of Manchester United game and train strike.

Staff where friendly and helpful we needed a taxi calling and the lovely young lady sorted it straight away we haven’t been to Manchester before so this made the trip a lot easier.

Plenty of parking, good communal facilities, bar etc. Easy check in. Nice room. Excellent shower.

Twin room didn’t have a second seat. Also a bit cramped but ok for a two night stay. Biggest dislike was the door slamming. Very loud and echoes. The self close adjusters could do with looking at.

The reception area, bar and eating area was nice clean and quite modern , The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but clean.

Our room was on the ground floor and from early morning you could hear banging and floor boards creaking constantly from above as the room service/cleaners were going from room to room.Which was annoying while trying to sleep, also annoying was the main road outside, and the noise from every car driving over a metal grid that was on the road. I know that's nothing to do with the hotel but maybe if enough people complained about it, something could be done about it. Also annoying whilst trying to sleep.

Breakfast on the first morning was poor, most hot items were finished and had to wait 10 minutes to have it replenished, when we arrived there was one slice of bread for toast, no sausage, mushrooms, scrambled egg, black pudding or beans this was a 9am. Staff were disinterested and ineffective. The following day was totally different with different staff and good service. The shower leaked all over the floor as there was no seal on the bath screen to stop water running under the screen.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom was very tired and in need of refurbishment.
