The staff is super super friendly! The hotel and hotelrooms are very cosy. They even gave me a "thank you for staying with us"- basket. How sweet is that! Absolutely 100 % recommend this place. Breakfast is very nice and their tea is delicious! Location is also perfect! 10 out of 10 for me, the best place I stayed in since I'm in India.

The only small thing was that it was a bit cold in the room. But they quickly gave me an heater, so, problem solved!

Safarnama is located in a very strategic location, in the old city and close to the ghats but in a pretty quiet street (compared to the others). Staff is very kind and available and breakfast is very good. They prepare for you fresh omelette, poha and paratha. Furniture are nice. Picture correspond to reality. They prepare for you a small care package at your arrival. Hot water always available. They also have an airport pickup/drop off service for 1000INR (not cheap but ok). I 100% recommend staying at Safarnama.

As usual, cleanliness of the room can be improved ; in particular the furniture should be cleaned. Bedsheets and towels with some stains on, they shall ne replaces.

Arrivando attraverso vicoli sporchi ti aspetti il peggio ma come entri ..la cortesia e la pulizia ti conquistano...fanno do tutto per metterti a tuo agio..chiaramente è una struttura datata...ma non gli manca nulla ti aiutano in tutto veramente speciali..al ritorno all aeroporto c era uno sciopero dei taxi..e loro ci hanno aiutato a trovare in tuctuc...trattando loro per noi il prezzi.. abbiamo pagato la metà di quello che chiedevano...la posizione è perfetta vicino al Gange dove si tengono le preghiere...io ci tornerei

Some staff very helpful and kind. Breakfast was prompt and fresh but limited in choice. Room was a good size but had no where to put suitcase or hang clothes

Location is very difficult particularly as a taxi or rickshaw cannot come to the door. You need to walk and there is no signage of the hotel and google maps did not work because of the narrowness of the alley ways. Only by asking helpful locals did we finally find it.

Most importantly, the staffs were very cooperative and cleanliness was superb.

The position is perfect to visit the city. In the old city but still easy to reach. No street noise heard in the room. The room and bathroom were clean and Indian style. We stayed 3 nights, breakfast is good. We recommend it.

No elevator, but we knew it and it was not a problem

The staff here are excellent, and couldn’t be more helpful. We arrived very early and they managed to clean a room and let us check in, which was really appreciated and above and beyond what should be expected. The staff helped us to organise a taxi to the airport, responded when we needed help with getting to the doctors with sickness, and sorted laundry for us including getting back a scarf that the laundry didn’t initially return. The hotel was excellent value for money - really if we wanted more we should be paying more. The room was very clean, and we were offered mid-stay cleaning if we wanted it. The dining area was nice, but could do with the walls repainting / cleaning and the cutlery wasn’t all clean (we gave it a quick wipe and got on with it, I don’t think it affected our health and everything else was clean). The area around the hotel is very noisy, however the hotel is far enough from the main road to be able to get a good nights sleep. There’s a convenience store just opposite and a pharmacy really close by should you need it.

We thought on the whole we got good value. Some more natural night in the bedroom (we got a smaller room) would have been nice, however can’t really expect the hotel to change the building!

The best place to stay in Varanasi when it comes to price/quality. While it might be a little bit more expensive than other guesthouses, this place is the perfect spot to truly relax and recharge your energies after a long day walking around the city. The room was clean, spacious, had working AC and hot water, nice and fresh linen, comfortable beds, and a kettle.

The single downside I would say is that, if you want to go out really early (Varanasi is at its best during sunrise), you have to wake up the guy who is taking care of the property. They were absolutely nice about it though.

The place is very neat and clean. The staff are really helpful with luggage and food and everything. Especially Pandey Ji who makes delicious breakfast in the morning. The place is very close to all the main sites. You can easily walk to the temple and the river.

The place is located right in the city center which is a very busy area so cars don't go up to the hotel. You might need to walk a bit though their staff helps you with that so that's not much of a problem once you reach there.

Staffs were very cooperative and on toes to resolve any issues. The location is perfect as it lies at the center of Kashi heartland.

This is my second stay at Safarnama, despite of it's location or property size - you still have a feel good factor about this hotel as soon as you enter the reception area. The once you start climbing the stairs to head to your room, the percentage of this feel good factor increases. The staff is very courteous, humble and helpful. I got good vibes from this place and I'm glad I chose to stay here again.

I wouldn't say it's something to dislike - but considering their location, they are in one of the busiest parts of the city but still that's a very important landmark as well.

Taxi or car do not go to the Hotel, not their fault as access in the old city is restricted.

If someone is explorer and wish to see Banaras city on the line of history, and wish to enjoy early breeze while boating in the river ganga, and spent time at the river ghaat, a good place to stay as the facility is very close to river Ghaat, temples and many religious places of the city. The narrow streets of Banaras (Banaras Ki Galiyan) can be felt while roaming by them. A little issue to reach at the facility is there, however, it will also add interesting experience to your Banaras visit. Staff is fantastic in work and nature.

The hotel is located on a narrow street that is not accessible to cars. It is about a 5 minute walk to the main road. It is a short distance, possible to cover with a heavy backpack. Nevertheless, the staff moved our luggage both ways at our request. The location of the hotel is very good, close to all tourist attractions. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room is clean, the beds are comfortable, no problem with hot water. The breakfast is very good. The only negative is the noise from the reception and from the street in the room behind the reception, but Varanasi is a very noisy city. Earplugs will suffice. Other than that, the hotel deserves a full recommendation for a stay in Varanasi.
