Taste of the food
Only one soap for two people
No intercoms so had to walk to the reception for everything
Cover sheets were clean but with massive holes
Toilets near the dinning were stinking

The property is a bt old and would benefit from renovation. The rooms were spacious. The breakfast was extremely good, we ate so much every morning. The hotel is right on the beach and the pool is perfect for an afternoon swim

The location, view out of the window and the staff, food.
The hotel is in a perfect location it does need maintenance, but staff and food were very good. No hot water. Expect huge cockcroches they are harmful but can give anyone a 😲

I booked one night at the resort before my flight so I could enjoy one day at a beach chair after a night bus.
Upon checking in they told me, you have to pay 1000LKR. I did and cancelled the booking.

Firstly The Staff , And The Owner, Very Friendly, Welcoming , I Could Stay At Other Hotels In Negombo, But Having Stayed At Topaz 6 Or 7 Times, It’s The Staff That Attracts Me, And The View From Reception To The Garden And Pool To The Beach And Ocean = Beautiful, My Room Was Kept Spotless , With Mosquito Net, Beach Facing, And Nice Breakfast Served By Friendly Staff, Stay At Topaz , You Wont Regret It,,, stan scully, 29.03.2023.

The pool side breakfast with a beach view, what more you can ask for! Every thing was amazing. Staff very welcoming 🙏 definitely staying here again

Good location and friendly staff.
Rooms were ancient and very dirty. (Saw 4, all the same!) Linen was grey, stained, holy and torn! Towels were of very poor quality, dark colours, holy and always had white pieces of fluff on them! Toilet old and stained, taps sprayed everywhere and no shower curtain! The worst rooms I’ve ever seen in any hotel! Room 201

Didn't like at all
Starting from my booking. I made the booking from booing.com and when I reached the hotel, the booking was not found in their system. After a great battle, managed to get a room. Even that not for the price booked. I had to pay double the price without any meals. No welcome drink given. Damaged room. No room service. No telephones. No tea or coffee. No soap in the bathroom. No plugs for tv. Kettle was dirty. No cups. Washroom door was broken. So many issues...

The sea view from the balcony, the view from breakfast, the breakfast, the friendliness of the staff, the location.

The hotel was just re-opening after a long layoff due to Covid, so it’s unfair to pick points of improvement that will surely be sorted in time. Wishing the Topaz and it’s staff all the best for the future.
