Cinnamon Wild Yala is a magical place. It is located really close the national park and you see a lot of animals from within the resort. The service was very nice and we were not able to find a similar service during our stay in Sri Lanka. Everything is very clean.
We were not 100% happy with the value for money of the safari organized by the resort.

Politeness of staff
My booking included dinner, bed and breakfast but the property refused to honour dinner being included.
Lighting in room was poor so it was difficult to read in bed.

Breakfast was sumptuous with a massive array of dishes from diferent cuisines. Location is the closest possible outside the Yala National Park gates. The wildlife freely roaming the lake at the property was amazing! The beach views from the property made it even more stunning.

Das Resort ist überschaubar und strahlt eine gemütliche Atmosphäre aus, sodass man sich sofort besonders wohlfühlt. Nur wenige Minuten von unserer Lodge entfernt lag das Wasser – ein traumhafter Ort mit schönem Ausblick, perfekt, um den Sonnenaufgang zu genießen.
Das Personal war hervorragend geschult und stets aufmerksam – darauf lege ich großen Wert. Ebenso beeindruckend war das fantastische Essen: frische, lokale Zutaten und eine große Vielfalt an köstlichen Gerichten.
Das Safari war top, unser Fahrer war einer der Besten! Cinnamon Wild Yala bietet die perfekte Kombination aus Luxus und Naturerlebnis – ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!

Amazing stay at Cinnamon Yala.
We stayed in one of the treetop rooms and it's very comfortable. Property is inside Yala National park so there are animals roaming around the property (there are no fences) which adds to the experience. At night someone will walk you to your room for safety.
Pool is great size for the amount of rooms and you can enjoy the pool while watching the water buffalos on their natural habitat. We also saw 2 crocodiles on our first day right next to the pool and an elephant bathing the day after.
The buffet is really comprehensive and the food is very good both at breakfast and dinner.
Well worth booking a safari. We did an evening Safari with our tour guide Gayan who did an amazing job and is very knowledgeable. We saw elephants, 2 leopards and a series of other animals. The animals get very active at dusk .
The park gets busy with all the safari cars but I was pleased to see a park ranger there controlling the situation to avoid disruption to the animals.
Nothing major to report . We had a great time.
I would say water and basic soft drinks could be included in the meal plan, but given how cheap everything is I cannot really complain.

Everything was perfect. Great location in regards to a stones throw from Yala. The food was good and the rooftop bar was fantastic for stargazing. The chalets were brilliant. We saw lots of wildlife including crocs, elephants and birds onsite.

A fun experience in huts surrounded by bushland next to Yala national park. We loved the pool, the food & the views to adjoining lake. There are squirrels, land monitors & plenty of birds at the property. Rooms are clean & the AC is awesome! And needed on our stay. The staff are really accommodating & always friendly.

- If you get there by your own car, be aware of unpaved road of last 1 or 2 km . Follow the hotel indication panels.
- People in SriLankan do not use waze so time to destination is not accurate, use Google maps

Everything about this property is amazing . The rooms are beautiful with a little patio . You can sit outside with a wine and watch animals go by . We saw more animals in the hotel complex than on safari . We. Nearly lol . An elephant wandered up the path thru the hotel rooms 😀

The beach chalet was ideally located near the walkway to the beach. Great big balcony and room was clean and comfortable.
We saw an elephant near the poolside and a crocodile in the lake next to the pool area.
To access the resort we had to drive in a private vehicle not suitable to travel on the bad roads. Very damaged after rain. The roads are not maintained at all.
For safety reasons and because the resort is located within the national park you couldnt walk around after dark without being accompanied by staff.
we regretted payng for a full day safari 6am -6pm, simply because the roads were so badly damaged it made for a very uncomfortable day of slow driving through the park. We also had two hours of sitting in the jeep while the park closed from 12pm-2pm. This made for a very long day and a huge headache! recommend a shorter safari. The full day would suit those who are keen bird watchers wanting to sit and observe for a period of time.

For my husband's birthday, we got a table by the pool side, just for our family. I really wasn't expecting it. It was wonderful. I ordered a cake in advance and we were waited on by freindly staff.
We tried ala carte and buffet style dinner, both were excellent. The buffet of course had a huge selection.
Our rooom was always made up perfectly. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job.
I love that we were surrounded by wildlife. Wildpigs, dogs, monkeys, squirrels, birds, crocodiles just 100-200 meteres away.
I was a little upset that I told the front desk that I would like the cake as a surprise and not to say anything about his birthday. Then first thing they do was walk up to my husband and said, so, are you the birthday boy? Congratulations.
The TV did not work well in our room. And electricity went out a few times but it quickly came back on. However, our adjoining room had problems and we had to call someone out to look at it twice.
And the rooftop bar that is on the website, was not open at all. I was looking forward to a sunset drink with a view.
What I was initially a little annoyed about was the pool attendant who didn't really want to give us towels and repeatly told me and my 3 children, to put our towels in the basket when finished with it. That was before we even sat down by the pool.

There are many things that I appreciated about this hotel, namely :
1) The staff were friendly and helpful
2) The box of biscuits on arrival was a nice treat & the executive chef spoilt me with a box on departure
3) I loved that I could see the sea from my cabin
4) I enjoyed being able to photograph the wide variety of bird life at the lake
5) I enjoyed the food at the a la carte restaurant
This hotel is good for families and large groups
Just a few suggestions :
1) to consider renovating the shower
2) to change the wall light fittings to face down, at night the cabin was dark
3) to build a wooden platform to link the look out platform at the lake to the path, to make it safer for the guests, as the crocodiles like to lie near the look out platform. It would be great to have benches and roof on the platform so that it was more like a hide, this would be great for photographers, and also make the viewing of the animals less intrusive for the wild animals.

Big shout out to Saman, Champika, Gamini, Nimesha and the Manager for being so welcoming and helpful. The hotel is situated super close to Yala National Park. Trips to and from our room itself was an adventure since we spotted deer, squirrel, Monkeys and lizards. We were in a beautiful jungle chalet which was well presented and comfortable.
The check in process took over 30 minutes since they were busy, this could have been managed better.

Incredible location, right next to a water area where all the wild life come and visit. Sitting by the pool and watching elephants and crocodiles whilst sipping a cocktail was such an amazing experience.

We loved the proximity to nature and the views of the waterhole from the hotel pool. Watching the animals go about their day, and coming and going around the lake was like being on safari. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the rooms were great; stylish, comfortable and very clean. We always felt safe. It was also nice to be close to the beach and to hear the nearby waves. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious.
There was a distinct lack of vegan options on the menu which meant our choices during our visit were restricted which impacted enjoyment of our stay. Would love to see more vegan options added to the menu.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful – the food was excellent throughout – the pool, including its wonderful attendants who happy to point out the wildlife around the man-made lake, was excellent – the room was charming and very relaxing.
sadly, the main reason for coming all the way to this hotel is to experience a leopard Safari. The experience was terrible – there now so many four by fours, chasing a small number of leopards at one point that must’ve been near to 30 vehicles all spewing out fumes to look at a leopard that was hidden in a distant bush! I somehow feel that we are contributing to a terrible situation by having booked this hotel and the safari – we would not do it again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cinnamon wild and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. The beach cabin was absolutely lovely and it was amazing to have wildlife strolling off the beach and around the resort in the afternoon and evening. With in 5 minutes of us entering our room an elephant appeared outside, a great start! The food selection was very good and the experiences we booked through the hotel were exceptional (jeep ‘n jungle dinner and full day safari) we can’t thank the staff enough for making our stay so wonderful
