Very close to the center, 5 minutes from the central square, but in a very quiet area. There is a huge indoor garden. The owner speaks excellent English. Very clean and calm.

home away from home!! I don’t have enough words for how much I appreciate this place. we came not feeling the best and amazing Tula gave us the best room (number 3) spacious, with view to the beautiful garden, inside the main hacienda that is fantastic with a fire place in the living room they we enjoyed in the evenings. Tula made our stay so much better with warm water for tea all the time to our room, best recommendations for walking around, the breakfast is really nice and she upgraded it for us since we are vegetarian. everything she did was with so much generosity. we healed in this place. Thanks so much Tula for everything. we will miss this place, already are.

Everything. Staff was super friendly and gave us suggestions of restaurants and tours. The hotel is beautiful and the room was very comfortable. Good breakfast.

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Samanapaq. We descended in altitude to Ollantaytambo due to suffering from altitude sickness, and Tula (the manager) was incredible from start to finish - calling a doctor to come straight away, recommending dishes that would be okay to eat with sickness, printing off everything we needed, and ensuring we had hot water every night to take to our room to make tea. The breakfast was delicious and the most diverse we had in Peru (fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, cakes, bread). The location is perfect and there is a delightfully large garden and grounds to sit in and relax. Our best stay in Peru and if we come back we will be sure to stay at Hotel Samanapaq!

Beautiful and located just three blocks from Square of Armas.
The entrance is on a very narrow street and o e of the busiest but it’s related to the way the town is structured.

the location was great - you could walk quickly into the square. it was lovely gardens, serene and out of the traffic and chaos , also lovely places to sit with a book or talk inside and out
the breakfast room was cold as was our room - even with a very small heater it was chilly - i am a cold natured person maybe other people it wouldn’t bother - breakfast was very simple and the same every day

The location is a few blocks from the bustle of city center which makes it quieter. The property has a nice garden and sitting room with fire. Breakfast was limited but fresh. Staff was friendly and responsive and helped us find a kind and safe taxi driver to take us around the Sacred Valley.
In their defense I’m guessing that this business was hit very hard by Covid and is short on staff, it looked like a family affair which impacted cleanliness, the room had cobwebs in the corners, was a bit dusty, and could use some repairs.
Take note that the entire town (not just this hotel - not their fault) is having a problem with Movistar at the time of this review so the wifi everywhere is awful.

It seems to me a very well located hotel, the people are always ready to help you. The family entertainment is very good and clean.
It seems to me that they would tell you to put a little more effort in fixing the phone, but the rest is all very well the phone because I tried to communicate and I could never confirm if my reservation was made.

Beautiful hotel and very very helpful staff. They have parking so we could left our car when going to Machu Picchu. Very good breakfast. Rooms are spacious. It was a pleasant stay.

The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She let us store our bags here for free so we didn’t have to take them to Machu Picchu even though we only stayed here one night. She says it’s a service she provides with the room. She also had breakfast waiting for us so that we could quickly make an egg sandwich and eat it on our walk to the train station.
The rooms were stark, beds were uncomfortable, and the toilet had to be adjusted each time it was flushed because it wouldn’t stop running.

It was amazing for real. Tula is the best host she recommend me the best restaurants and it was my boyfriends birthday so she made evrything so special.
All of it, location, the whole place and the people working there

What a great find! The location was close enough to the main square to walk in a couple of minutes but far enough away so we had some peace and quiet. The staff were amazing with helpful advice whenever we asked for it. Our room was perfect and we were also next to the common living room with a fireplace that we enjoyed with pizza one night.
Nothing!

Tuly was so attentive and helpful. She had great tips for restaurants and activities (thanks to her, we had one of our best meals of our entire trip). The property was very beautiful and peaceful.

The property is beautiful! Lots of outdoor and shared spaces. Excellent location and our hostess was attentive to details. Great breakfast!
Can’t think of anything (except maybe down pillows).
4.7
The place is dream-like, with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, big colonial room and communal areas (with fireplace!) and well maintained gardens. One can see easily the hosts really take care and like what they are doing. The staff couldn't be sweeter and more attentive, from rich conversations to sincere and meaningful advice about the area, restaurants with great and innovative Peruvian food and trustworthy guides for accompanying us on tours. Because of Samanapaq, I will always be happy to advise friends to stay a few extra days in Ollantaytambo (which is also a super cute and distinctive former Inca capital) instead of going straight to Machu Picchu and back to Cusco.
Nothing. The stay was impeccable, from installations and location to staff friendliness.

The manager Tula was wonderful and extremely helpful. She helped us call our next destination for us. She was very caring and made us feel at home. We are planning on coming back in the near future with our teenage children, and will absolutely stay here again. The property is also beautiful. The town is safe and very interesting to walk around.

This is probably the most pretty hotel in Ollantaytambo. Surrounded by mountains. Very scenic. Just beautiful.
Facilities are pretty basic but that is to be expected.
