We had an amazing 6 night stay at Jasper House. It was a short walk from the beach and so very quiet with beautiful coconut trees. Kasin, the manager, and staff are so kind and friendly. They always clean the place. During the stay, we visited several restaurants in this area including the famous one, but the Jasper House restaurant on the top floor was undoubtedly the best. We really enjoyed surfing here and will definitely stay at Jasper House nest time.

Like most other Sri Lanka hotel rooms our room was open air. There were mosquito attacks though Jasper House provided electric mosquito coil.

I had a big room with a huge comfortable emperor size bed with AC (that I did not use) a powerful shower, and - which was the cherry in the cake an almost private 20m pool right at my doorstep. The staff was extremely friendly. I was spoiled with great food any moment I felt like it on the vast rooftop space from where I looked out on a green space with coconut trees and the sea, driven to town to get cash, and given advice on what to do. The property is away from any street noise but 2’ walk to the reef surf spot. What a great place to be in Hiri.

in some areas there was a transitory issue with the WiFi. But who needs WiFi in such a place?

Noisy. No cot offered in family room. Breakfast was poor considering the cost of the room. Open above doors so noise from other rooms travelled.

This was our second visit to Jasper House - it felt tired since we last visited 4 years ago. As soon as we stepped in the place felt different. There was a ladder, sink and other stuff lying around the lobby during our whole stay. And the whole place seemed like it needed a lick of paint and some love.

The room is super comfortable and big with a nice shower. The breakfast was very nice also with a rooftop view.

We wanted to have some drinks in the evening but the cocktails were not good. They were all served warm.

The people were friendly, room was nice and window was cool.

The towels were old (not very soft, grey and very off white… instead of white), would have expected a hairdryer in room for that rate. Also it was very noisy at night. First night had to put earphones and music on as there was a party or some very loud music playing nearby all night long. With no sound proofing at all, the room opposite to the left (think it was a staff room), kept opening and slamming all night long, people coming and going, no respect for other guests, as it was loud when closing, they could have simply held it to close, rather than letting it slam shut (as they’re fire doors). Plus through the night…??? Reception closed at 4pm and then quite hard to get hold of anyone after that… didn’t feel very secure and glad we didn’t leave surfboards in reception at board rack. Stray dogs kept coming into hotel and either them or the monkeys got into the bins one night, so woke up to rubbish all over the lawn, sun loungers and pool. Not a pleasant sight first thing… and we informed the staff which to be honest, wasn’t cleaned up very well. Put me off using the Sun loungers.

Overall the hotel is nice enough, just hugely overpriced for mediocre rooms, mediocre breakfast etc. and really not worth that amount of money

A great hotel with a nice big room, comfy bed, and a pool. Breakfast was good and the staff were super helpful.

We loved the staff. Good clean room. Enormous bed. Expensive considering but well worth paying a bit more. Just at the top of "hip" Hiri but great to be a little away. Lovely pool.

unfortunately the pictures of the room are better than the reality, one open wall faces directly out onto the road so you have to keep the shutters closed otherwise everyone can see directly in. Only option was quite industrial heavy shutters that also block the light. The restaurant is also poor quality for the price, not worth a visit and the only time I felt unwell on the trip was after eating lunch here.

It’s a good location. Massively overhyped on social. The building can do with a bit of restoration

Great sized rooms and bathrooms. Nice towels and linen. Clean. Good breakfast and lovely pool. The children loved the dogs! Fantastic location, very near the beach but away from all the bars etc.

There wasn't much of a welcome when we arrived. It would have been helpful to be told where the dining room was, how breakfast works (on our first day it seemed we had to order but thereafter it was self service) and generally feel the staff are a little more on-hand.
