Attention aux places de parking!

Les piscines et les extérieurs de l’hôtel : jardins très soignés, l’aménagement des bars et restaurants. La décoration de l’hôtel est très belle . Le personnel du restaurant en particulier de lui de la nous une est serviable et gentil.

Le ménage laisse un peu à désirer : salle de bain pas laver tous les jours. Certains Membres du personnel à l’accueil pas forcément aimable sont M. Andrade qui obtient la palme du désagréable. J’avais demandé une chambre vue mer et j’étais dans une avec échappé mer. Heureusement le soleil couchant a rendu la vue plus jolie.

What makes this hotel so special is the staff, the staff in the resturant were amazing, from the cooks, serving staff, and the staff who wait on tables, which is not an easy task. I am wheat and gluten intolerant and they went out of their way to accommodate my wishes.

Da harmonia que se encontrava em cada canto do hotel. Quartos muito confortáveis.

Do elevado preço do café e do horário da animação. Acho um pouco desfasado do horário dos portugueses, pois ao contrário dos estrangeiros os portugueses jantam mais tarde, ora quando queríamos assistir ao espectáculo de animação, este já estava a terminar.

Lage: Hotelkomplex liegt im Südwesten von Funchal. Vor dem Eingang Busstation (Sowohl Linien- als auch der Flughafenbus!!) sowie Taxizone. Große Poolanlage mit mehreren Pools (auch Indoor) und Whirlpools. Tolle Grünanlagen und vielen Liegen (großteils frei!). Zimmer: Schöne Größe mit Balkon. Badezimmer nicht mehr up to date (Duschwanne...), Betten für unseren Geschmack zu weich (aber das ist Ansichtssache) Frühstück: In Buffetform, ausreichend.

Check-in (2 Uhr Morgens): Mitarbeiter wollte Rechnung für Aufenthalt nochmals kassieren, obwohl bereits im Voraus bezahlt wurde. Er meinte mit Booking.com gäbe es immer Schwierigkeiten. Als ich ihm die Zahlungsbestätigung des Hotels zeigte, meinte er wir sollten das am Vormittag mit seinem Kollegen klären, da sich der besser auskennen würde.....

Trädgården, poolerna, sängarna var supersköna OCH väldigt breda, rummen var rymliga, tillmötesgående personal, god frukost och så mysigt att äta den på glasverandan. Lätt att sysselsätta stora och små med alla aktiviteter som erbjuds inkl. livemusik på kvällarna, gratisparkering.

Förbättringsförslag: Fler eluttag, byt ut badkaren mot duschar, heltäckningsmatta känns inte så fräscht och viktigaste av allt, välkomna singlar att bo, åtminstone att bara behöva betala för 1 pers. till frukosten!!!!!

Everything! From the number of pools, to the facilities that you can use (crazy golf, tennis, table tennis, spa), to the friendliness of the staff, we as a family loved every minute of being here. Breakfast in the morning had a great selection from cereals, hot food, meats, cheeses and pastries, so you can fill up before heading out to explore Funchal and Madeira as a whole. There is a bus stop outside the hotel that the number 1 and 2 stop at and will take you into the centre of Funchal. Not only could you eat at the hotel (we enjoyed the Portuguese buffet night), there are lots of options a stones through outside of the hotel. We loved staying here so much that we are planning a repeat visit (which we rarely do!) next year.

The only thing that I would have a slight gripe about was the volume of some of the bands that they had playing in the evening. When you can hear the music from the inside of your room, with the balcony doors closed then it is too loud, but it didn't go on past 10:30pm. There were some performers where the sound levels were perfect, so potentially it was down to the performers speakers and not the hotel. Oh, and the fact that you have the usual numpties that head down to the pool to put their towels down at 5 or 6 in the morning, something that the hotel could do something about

The hotel facilities were very nice and the cuisine was great. But....

We booked a room with sea view and got a view of the next hotel complex. We could only see the sea a little bit at the edge (see photo attached). In addition, there was a very noisy street below with a lot of traffic. So we could not use the balcony. Also at night it was noisy (mopeds driving arround), so that one could hardly sleep properly. We felt totally fooled. A complaint did not help. The cleanliness in the rooms also left a lot to be desired (e.g. glasses not washed, bathroom not properly cleaned, etc.). What a pity!

We know the Porto Mare quite well as we have a time share apartment at The Residence which is part of the complex.. We stayed at the Porto Mare for just one night as we took an earlier flight than usual. The breakfast was good and the hotel facilities excellent.

Our room was a little small and dark and positioned just below the outside bar area but as we were staying just the one night before moving into our apartment it wasn't really a problem. However, had we been staying longer we would not have been impressed.

- beautiful hotel, nice art, flowers, beautiful gardens, amazing views from balconies. -lots of space, many cosy corners to sit and relax outside and inside, meaning that guests are not in each other's way. At breakfast we were shocked at a huge crowd of people as the hotel never felt busy during the day -great swimming pools, one heated pool is partly outside so you can swim even on not very sunny days -lovely staff, especially at breakfast, very friendly and hard-working - I was amazed at how almost everyone spoke other languages in the hotel, most more than one -nice location as not as busy as centre of Funchal, but still lots of restaurants around and a short ride to the centre

- not great breakfast if you are vegan, I would prefer kitchen to fix something myself as we only had fruit, cereal and soya milk as options (lots of meat, cheese, eggs and pastry options for non vegans). I like savoury breakfast, spoke twice with reception, in the end we bought our own vegan cheese and guacamole to have more options .One lady at reception was weird about it ('you must say about your diet requirements immediately in every restaurant, and not just here in the hotel, in every restaurant you go to' what? Haha). . The guests here were mostly over 50s so probably they don't usually get vegans in the hotel. Hotel Pizza place has a vegan pizza option and pool bar has a vegan burger and an Asian salad with tofu and rice noodles and restaurants near by have great options too, so it's only breakfast that was a challenge. Also coffe at breakfast doesn't taste good

We loved it all - the breakfast was top-notch and included with our room costs, so we felt we got high value compared to other properties we visited. All the facilities were excellent, and we were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were spotless - meticulously cleaned.

Lovely large room with duel aspect. Choice of large swimming poolsr, excellent light lunch from poolside cafe.

Could hear from the balcony the air con of the poolside bar. Twin single beds were not attached to each other.

Very clean. Many services are available, in the hotel and around it. Close to the beach and not far from the center. The room was huge!

Everything was great, the staff is good at their job but perhaps in some cases not too friendly (absolutely never impolite, and always very responsive, so this is just a "feeling" you get from interacting with some)

Spacious room, lovely gardens, good facilities, staff helpful and available, fairly clean , albeit decor is slightly dated.

During our stay they were doing some repair and maintenance work at the end if the corridor. Constant noise during the day, one day there were power tools being used even after 6p.m. They painted the wall in the corridor, and the room smelt strongly on paint all night. woke up with a headache. Plumbing very noisy. Every morning we were woken by the shower next door. The two sigle mattresses are a bit annoying.
