The cottage was cosy and toasty and homely. In a beautiful location in the countryside. The cottage was set back in time. There was breakfast supplies to cook up bacon and eggs and firewood ready to light in the heater.

Picturesque hideaway with understated attention to authentic detail from a bygone era. Open fire was fab - it was freezing outside! Electric blanket a bonus. Breakfast options perfect. Complementary port. Would love to come back in Spring or Autumn. Hosts welcoming and understanding about a breakage.

Loved the old world decor. There was a great supply of wood for the fire, wonderful shower and comfortable bed. All in all a wonderful stay.

Lovely friendly host, we didn't want to leave after our two nights but had a schedule
Maybe a means of heating the bathroom, say with a bar heater mounted high on the wall? A cold front came though the weekend of the stay and the lounge/living room and bedroom had a comfortable climate with the ducted aircon AND the wonderful wood combustion heater in the L/L room!

Close to Beechworth and Yackandandah. A pub feed at the Star Hotel Yackandandah is a must!

So good we didn’t want to leave!
It was brilliant we could bring our adorable golden retriever, Zoe.
We loved every minute of of our stay in the Captains Cottage. Beautifully presented with lots of special touches. Zoe made friends with the owners beautiful dog Eddie.
A great location too, just out of Beechworth and close to other local towns and sights, like the amazing Woolshed Falls.
We will be back.

Cosy cottage. Charmingly decorated and well equipped. The provided breakfast on the first day was convenient and very much enjoyed. Would happily come again and maybe even bring the pooch!

Lovely comfortable cottage with great outlook from the balcony. Also patio and chairs at the front.

No negatives but lacking internet and mobile phone service may be a dislike for some.

The breakfast provisions including fresh eggs, and the extras like port and chocolate were much appreciated. The open fire and generous wood supply were great. We especially enjoyed the birds and the lovely out look.

Loved the amazing attention to detail on the 1850's repro Miners Cottage.... incredible collection of antiques and lovely touches. Breakfast supplies of fresh chicken eggs, bacon, toast and garden tomatoes. Lovely open fire place, spa bath and even port and an after dinner Lindt ball.
