A wonderful jungle hideaway that gives peace tranquility and enchantment in a very special location. Farm to table food is in abundance and deliciously prepared in the welcoming kitchen. The communal dining table inspired witty conversation especially when listening to Jay the Farmstay owner. This is an oasis of calm that should not be missed.
We should have stayed longer!

Food and environment was great.
The host never mentions the food costs extra and the exact costs are never mentioned on the website , messages or in person. The meals are very expensive, breakfast was 500Rs per breakfast and 800Rs each for dinner and dinner. There are no other options int he surrounding area and therfore, must rely on this. Other guests were also surprised and disappointed by the cost and were not prepared for it. It was an unpleasant feeling.

Fabulous home cooked food (although a little on the expensive side). Well maintained rooms.
Pool was still being filled on our arrival and not properly filtered until next day. We had booked two rooms together but were separated as one room was "upgraded" to a deluxe room... as it turned out a longer staying guest has asked to be moved from this deluxe room and given the room we had booked as the "deluxe" room was adjacent to dining area and not soundproofed due to open eaves.

very good food although quite expensive. beautiful old farmhouse with lovely rooms.
it was a little too quiet with only one couple staying.
we arrived by bicycle and would have loved a beer, but sadly none was available.

Quietness and the walks
Way markers for walks would be helpful

I loved the friendly in-house pets who were so adorable.
This place REALLY needs an in-house host. When we stayed it was only the kitchen / HK staff who were there and they are limited in what they can advise in terms of where to go, what to do. For the price it was very disappointing. It's a very communal space so it really needs someone to act as a guest host. Otherwise it totally fails in its attempt to be part homestay , part farmstay. Super disappointed.

quietness and natural surroundings
fan in the room was slow and the geyser is a small one so if a senior citizen is having a shower in the morning the water is very cold

I had a great time, beautiful peaceful place, very nice hospitable people running it, large farm, lovely pool, delicious food. Will come for sure next time when around.

We were the only guests when we stayed at Mangaal Farmstay for three days, so it felt as though it was a haven just for us. The room was elegant and stylish in a traditional Indian/Portugese manner, with a basic but functional bathroom with shower. The pool was small but refreshing in the heat and looks wonderful skirted by palm trees and a small pagoda.
Sulaksha and Danu (not sure about the spelling) looked after us extremely well. Sulaksha was obliging (happily doing our laundry) and an amazing cook, using a lot of ingredients grown on the farm, while Danu drove us to a couple of local sites at a very reasonable price. There is a great sitting room at the house, with a cool open mezzanine perfect for hanging out, playing guitar, doing yoga or whatever you fancy. Although there are no instructions about where is a good place to go for walks nearby, we discovered some great walks, both on the property and across the road, past the farm itself and over a stream into beautiful woods, where, as around the house itself, many of the more interesting trees are labelled with their names.
While you are staying you must go to one of the nearby waterfalls in the Nature Reserve and also Tanshikar Spice Farm, the tour of which is excellent as is the lunch after. Thanks to everyone at Mangaal Farmstay!
More written information about where to go for walks from the house would have been helpful.
