Really great place. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean establishment

This is a typical old-style Campanile located on an industrial estate close to the motorway. Ideal for a one-night stop-over. Staff were pleasant. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and this was OK. We travelled into Gouda town by car but were told by reception that local buses were available. The cost for this overnight stay is high compared with other hotels we stayed at during our 17-day road trip through Netherlands, Germany and Poland. We did not consider it good value for money.

Breakfast was poor as there was a bus party staying and minimal staff on duty, so dishes were not replenished and tables were slow to be cleared. Rooms are basic and a bit dreary. We have stayed at the upgraded Campanile hotels which are much better value for money.

Noise from road, fan running all night, tobacco smoke from next door, old tired rooms and linen. Scruffy building.

Location was good.

Reception staff gave the impression that she would rather not be there. We paid on arrival for stay and on leaving we paid for a dinner the previous night. After leaving they tried to call us 4 times saying we had left without paying. Cost an expensive call from Germany( on my NZ phone) to get it sorted. The 2 breakfast always had something missing. They appeared to be short of staff.

Too close to high-way with too much noise made it very difficult to sleep.

The hotel was located right next to the autobahn, so it was easy to find!

Considering the cost of the rooms, we didn't get our money's worth. Funnily, this was the most expensive room we booked on our 10-day trip and it was by far the worst. The staff at the reception were somewhat rude. We found underwear hanging on the radiator under the table. Even though we booked two rooms together (one booking code), we didn't get rooms together or even on the same floor. It was overall, just okay.

Very basic rooms, light in the bathroom didn't work well. Everyone passing thru may peek into the room and see who`s on the bed.

Staff was very friendly

The hotel is directly next to an 8 lane motorway which is very noisy. There is only 1 electricity point. Room wasn't particularly clean. Couldn't connect a laptop or other device to the TV.
