The location was ideal, in between matlock bath and matlock itself. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would recommend,

The rooms were big, fabulous bath kids could nearly swim in it.

We had a leak

Just what we needed as we drove back from the Lake District & stayed Matlock the night to break the journey up. We live in Essex. Very relaxing there. Staff lovely. We had continental breakfast. All we needed. Would def book again as it’s near The Heights of Abraham. Didn’t have time to pursue it today. Had a meal @ Thai No.1., Matlock. Yummy meal @ staff very attentive.

In need of updating - could not use fire escape from bathroom as you were unable to open velux window as it was obstructed by the shower cubicle!!

Pleasant people, nice family run hotel, easy parking

No Air conditioning . Breakfast charge seemed extremely excessive so we didn’t bother . Lots of outside places .

Lovely little hotel, great location only a few minutes walk from Matlock. Our room was upgraded on arrival and the facilities were really good. Breakfast was continental only included but had a good selection. Great value for money.

None of soap dispensers seem to work, tv had really bad signal, beds have waterproof mattress protectors on which makes them uncomfortable

The room was very cold on arrival and no blinds on the window but rectified straight away and was very apologetic about this.

I was given a loft room which was so small you could barely walk around the bed. I would expect and accept this for low cost digs, but this is a hotel charging hotel room rates. Friends were in a normal room below me and that was Ok.

Good shower.Spotless bedding and towels.Excellent Continental breakfast.Chcie of fruit juices, cereals, yogurt,bread ,croissants and jam etc.Constantly replenished so no shortage. .

As noted earlier, definitely a bit tired and needing some TLC.

The bedroom was spacious.

The bathroom was nicely decorated, however hadn't been cleaned properly for a while, the anex window had a shelf area and had dirt and old dirty shampoo and shower gel bottles left on there. When we checked in at 6pm we were asked if we were eating to which we replied we may be, we had family coming to see us at the hotel. Once in the bar area after we went to order food and was informed that the chef had gone for the day, then the table next to us got a 3 course meal about 20 minutes after? Breakfast was busy and we had one small pot of tea between 4 and no offers for any more, the coffee machine was out of order and it could do with some decorating. For the name location and price the hotel was a disappointment.

Furniture in the room is has seen better days ,the circular bed frame is not good and would be better being replaced by a bigger double ,room was not made up on a daily basis so coffee , milk etc not replenished.

Hotel is run down, lack of attention to detail, not very clean - cobwebs & dust throughout the room. Bed wheel broken causing the bed to be uneven & unsteady.

We only saw one member of staff and he was very friendly and helpful. Nice big room for our group of 4. Good value for money.

I was in a single bed and it was very narrow.

Very pleasant staff. Nice room and bathroom. Would've been nice to open the window but the room temperature was pleasant and fans/heaters were available if required. Good location for the town. We had a nice curry in the restaurant and made use of happy hour. Drinks are generally expensive in all the venues in town.

The continental breakfast was a bit basic but adequate.

Bed was soft enough to be comfortable. Bathroom had instant hot water. Breakfast was good, well worth paying the extra to include a cooked meal; excellent toasters to do the toast perfectly; appreciated the fact that the gluten free requirement was met well.

Some of the furnishings in the bedroom had seen better days, but were still o.k.

Lovely looking building, impressive bedroom and bathroom. Good location.

The whole place was very cold, staff serving meals and breakfast in coats. Service very slow and food could be a lot better. Extra £9 for cooked breakfast, expected more than a luke warm fried breakfast. No fruit juice until you asked and coffee and tea from a machine served in paper cups. Ate in the restaurant at night, steak like shoe leather unfortunately. Disappointed for the cost.
