"I haven't even checked into Jop yet, but I already feel compelled to write a review. From the attention to detail that I've observed from the outside, it's clear that the owners have put a lot of thought and care into creating a truly unique and special experience for their guests. The exterior is impeccably maintained, with lush greenery and tasteful decor that perfectly complements the natural surroundings. As I walked by, I could already smell the fresh sea breeze and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin, making me even more excited to check in. One of the things that has impressed me the most, though, is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the owners. Even from a distance, I could see that they are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. I have no doubt that their hospitality will be a highlight of my stay. Overall, I am blown away by Jop and can't wait to experience it firsthand. Based on what I've seen so far, I have no doubt that this will be an unforgettable vacation. I loved my stay here! The owners are really friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean. The location is great, close to the beach, 7/11 and restaurants. And the breakfast is delicious. I'll definitely stay here again if I visit Koh Chang!

I enjoyed my stay very much with Olivier and his lovely wife. The breakfast is a must, it is very healthy and super tasty, and one of the best coffees on the island. Overall one of the best locations, to the beach is only 300 meter and the 7 Eleven and bars are just some minutes by foot. The rooms were super clean and had everything the traveller desires, also good for families, I felt super safe there with Olivier and his staff.

Beautiful place on Kai Bae! Changed so many accomodation all over SE Asia and this is definitely one of the best! Hosts are so attentive and you really feel surrounded by such a positive energy. Excellent coffee and breakfast. Beach is couple of min walk... Suggest to walk by road til Cliff resort.. There is the best beach, sunbeds and lots of shade. Nice beach with no rocks. lots of restaurants, massage, 7elevent, etc... Close by. Will come back.

Jop was by far the best reviewed option in Kai Bae where there was a local Speed Boat service we had intended to leave. The owners booked our taxi’s to JoP and the speedboat tickets for the following day which we couldn’t do ourselves online. Olivier and Natasha were amazingly diligent in responding to all our messages prior to arriving. Once there, they made everything reassuring which makes a world of difference travelling with a 3 year old.

I can’t fault anything about the stay or the owners. It is worth noting that the movement order from Bangkok can be treacherous with tight connections to other islands in Trat province. Our flight was initially delayed from 11:30 to 12:30 which meant we couldn’t make our boat to Koh Kood (last one leaves 14:20 from Laem Sok Pier which is about an hour taxi from Trat airport, plus you need to be there 45 min prior). That’s when we booked JoP as it was the best reviewed accom option that was 10 min walk to the Speedboat from Koh Chang to Koh Kood if all else failed - there are few accom options near Laem Sok Pier and the ferry to Koh Chang runs regularly until 6:30PM. But when our flight was delayed again by 4 hours (on the morning of), rather than risk missing the final ferry to Koh Chang, we asked Bangkok Airways to forfeit our tickets for a limousine taxi which was a 3.5-4 hour drive to Aow Thammachat Pier. The 3:45PM ferry ended up leaving at 3:15PM as it filled up very quickly and we were lucky to get on as we bypassed car cue on foot. Once through the gate, there are Taxi services inside the Pier that can take you through to your hotel on Koh Chang. On a final note, the Speedboat we were booked on operated out of the Bang Bao Pier which is nowhere near Kai Bae which may have been because it was the only one they could source for us ahead of time. The overall takeaway is that staying at a venue which has impeccable service can really save your holiday when you have to go off script and language barriers, hawks and tourist landmines await every turn.

We loved it here so much we stayed longer than originally planned and even came back after we were on Koh Kuut and Koh Maak for a week. The owners are super friendly and helpful with everything. The breakfast is DELICIOUS! They don’t have anything vegan on the menu but where very open to creating something for me, thanks again for that! 🙏🏻 Beach and many restaurants are right around the corner/alongside the road. They also rent scooters for a very good price! It just felt like home. ☺️

The place is very well maintained and comfortable for your visit . The room was excellent. We stayed in an upstairs balcony. The owners put their heart into running the business. Highly recommend

We loved our stay at JOP! Olivier and his wife were excellent hosts, always friendly, smiling and helpful. The room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice and the shower was good. Safe available and working. Tasty breakfast was available for an extra cost very reasonable. Scooters available to hire directly from JOP, we would recommend this to be able to see all sides of the beautiful island. You can walk a few mins behind the hotel and be on the beach. Excellent location - near plenty of restaurants and a few bars. Other beaches within walking distance. We loved Mimi too 🐶

I really enjoyed my stay at JOP. Oliver and his wife are very helpful und the breakfast was very delicious. I could also rent a Scooter directly which was very convenient. Also some great restaurants and a 7 eleven right around the corner and just a quick stroll to the beach.

The hosts Olivier and Natasha are extremely friendly and helpful, give good tips and information about the island. They are the best! We found our stay so great that we booked two more nights. One of the best accommodations we have ever stayed in. Thank you Olivier and Natasha The room is very clean and well equipped. The whole area is very well maintained, it has a beautiful garden. The breakfast is delicious! We could also rent a scooter directly at the accommodation, that was great. Various restaurants, bars, beaches are rigth across the street. The hotel is in a great location. We would always come back.

Spacious room that meets the expectations. (I was staying in the middle room on the second floor) Not only the room is quite big, but the bathroom as well. The room has a large/wide bed which is not always common for rooms in this price segment. There are plenty of power sockets, a TV, a small desk (if you move the TV to another small table), water, coffee and a kettle are provided in the room, small fridge and a partly private area outside in front of the room on the balcony. Not always unimportant, there are quite a lot of windows in the room. The owner and his girlfriend/wife are very friendly and helpful, so this gets a score of a big 10 for sure.

The comments below are not deal-breakers, just extra information. It was not my first time staying in Koh Chang, for my experience Koh Chang has a climate that is very humid (also depends on the time of the year) due to the island is largely covered by jungle. This also reflects in the condition of the rooms (in general for Koh Chang), especially when they are empty during low season or when there are not many tourists on the island to rent the rooms. That means that the rooms stay humid due to the lack of running aircons to dry out the rooms, also the aircons itself get faster fed by bacteria and aircons in general on Koh Chang need more cleaning than usual. So the room sometimes smelled a bit moldy, especially when the aircon was running. Another small detail which looks very common in Koh Chang as well is to build bathrooms with a totally wrong layout, putting the shower right at the entrance of the bathroom and on the other side in the more open space in the back there’s only a toilet, makes a visit to the bathroom after a shower always ending up with wet feed. This can be a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. Last thing, the bed frame is made of bamboo, so that makes some noise if you like to move a lot in bed. But again these were not deal-breakers during my visit.
