The host was exceptionally helpful. The property has lots of birds. It is a shame he doesn't organise bird tours.

We paid extra to have fruit at breakfast but we did get a huge bowl of fruit that we were unable to finish. He needs to organise Bird tours to be in competition with Rancho Naturalista

If you enjoy birds and nature you will love these cabanas. Situated in a garden planted with birds in mind, there are so many hummingbirds and many other species, even a toucan! Jose is a great guide, and took us down to the river to look for a sun bittern. We ate local breakfasts - eggs, rice, beans and plantain, which were delicious. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Cabanas are basic but have everything you need.

Me gustaron las vistas y la cama era cómoda, tienen muchas plantas que atraen colibríes y son muy bonitos el dueño es muy atento

No me gustó que para llegar a la habitación haya que pasar por la casa del dueño y salga cada vez que pasamos, da poca intimidad a mi me hace sentir incómoda tener que explicar todo el tiempo a donde vamos de donde llegamos creo que lo hace con la mejor intención pero me resultó un poco agobiante, el desayuno podría mejorar bastante

Good location. Many birds and humming birds on extensive site and track leading to it. Very friendly and helpful owner who took us around local area and showed us good sites for birding. Very good home cooking.

Room very basic and could do with renovation

The owner, José, did everything in his power to make my stay as pleasant as possible. He really is a great host and very nice person. The place is very quiet and loaded with birds. So if the place is available, don't hesitate and just book. You won't regret it and its worth it! So many birds to see, enjoy and photograph. The view from the hills towards Irazu volcano, Turrialba volcano and Turrialba town are priceless. The room is very comfortable and everything you need is there. I didn't expect to have any internet. But i had it in the room and functioned very well.

Nothing, nada, niets! Everything was great. I can't make up anything for not wanting to return here.

Jose was an amazing host. The room is basic, but has a fan and a tv and good wifi! There is a hot shower too (it’s important to note that to use hot water in Costa Rica, a lot of the time you need to turn the knob just a little, and as you keep turning the knob, the water gets colder). The cabaña also has a porch perfect for relaxing with your coffee in the AM. Jose has a fruit feeder, hummingbird feeders and native flowers that attract a lot of birds. The property is also only a 10 minute drive to Rancho Naturalista (Rancho Naturalista requires a day pass purchased in advance). Make sure to bring cash to pay. Allison and I had a great stay and we absolutely loved the home cooked meals (available for a low cost). Ask for the chicken casados!! Thanks for hosting us Jose!
