Ideal location, very friendly welcome. Rooms lovely and clean, very comfortable. Breakfast was superb, plenty of it and very tasty.

The rooms were large and comfortable. With plenty of hot water in the showers. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was one of the best. The help yourself to free coffee and cake was an added bonus.

Greated by Sarah very friendly and made us welcome straight away. Room on first floor Can't fault anything. Comfortable bed and pillows Nice touches if needed Tea coffee and toiletries. Fresh milk and water to take to your room kept in a small fridge rather than the usual plastic cap fulls you get.of warm milk. Such a wide selection of breakfast choices fruit salad cerals porridge full English and more. Colin a pleasure also and as well as being the chef makes cakes and shortbread biscuits which you can help yourself to.My husband was delighted 😋 Five minute walk into Keswick and short walk to lake Lots of information provided by Sarah on places to eat etc. Would highly recommend just wished we could have stayed longer Thank you so much From Nicola and Kevin

the little sofa in the corner of our room looks great but isn’t actually that comfortable and I’m aware this is a personal choice.

A wonderful welcome from the owners, fabulous room with thoughtful touches and they could not do enough for you.

Close to main town centre and lakeland views. Comfort of the room with an exceptionally good shower facility. Hospitality and professionalism of the hosts. Small free extras eg Coffee machine, Wi-fi.

Whilst we got lucky on arrival, parking space is very restricted. Unfortunately, not due to hosts, severe frost and ice hindered our walking experience. Could possibly do with local information leaflets eg map,

The room was comfortable and fairly spacious for a single room, plus the breakfast was nice and I received a friendly welcome.

Only that the TV remote was mostly unresponsive - everything else was great.

Staff were very kind, room very comfortable, got upgrade from Single to King size and fantastic breakfast.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Beautiful large room, everything was perfectly clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Delicious breakfast with lots of options.

Everything about Portland House was superb. Colin and Sarah were lovely hosts. Breakfast was exceptional. I stayed in a single room and it was lovely and spacious. Perfect location for walking into Keswick in 5-10 minutes and yet a quiet location. On road parking was not a problem. I would most definitely book Portland House again without hesitation.

There was nothing I felt needed improvement. Everything was beyond expectation.
