Our party consisted of 14 people. Two members of our party cancelled at the last minute. Our stay at the Barnett House was wonderful. Plenty of space and the location of the beach was the best. Everything we needed was easily obtainable. I will definitely recommend Barnett House to anyone with a large party. We rotate our visit between the mountains and the beach. See you in a few years!

This property is PERFECT for family. We loved the "Center" of the house. For us, the family gathering at the farmhouse table is BEST part of the house. We do think the carpet and ducts may need a thorough cleaning because allergies kicked up with coughing and sniffling and sneezing. Also, a screen door on the back and the deck would've been lovely, so the dragon flies wouldn't chase us. LOL But overall, the house is perfect for a big family.

Our whole family went this trip and the house was perfect for a lot of people. It has everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen and plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed the huge oceanfront porch!

Awesome place for an awesome price.

It was in a good location on the beach. The building is a little dated, but plenty roomy. The only issue we had was that the washing machine wouldn’t drain. The property manager sent their reps over to check it out, and said they’d send a repairman, but one never showed up. Other than that, this place more than met our needs.

Lovely place to stay, great location, view and it’s great found a place like this pet friendly.

The location is better than it looks in the profile. You cannot get closer to the beach! It is furnished well with a huge, well stocked kitchen that can provide everything 15+ people would need! The appliances all work great, so does the heat and AC. Where it fell down in ratings was overall cleanliness. The surfaces were clean. Linens and such great and plenty of them. But after first glance the whole place needs a deep clean. There was a hurricane the week before we arrived and we had to report that all the screens on the front porch were ripped and hanging, flapping in the wind! Whoever cleaned either hadn’t been on the porch or never reported the damage to the Realty office. They responded immediately and someone came and removed all the damaged screens but in the 2 weeks we were there they were not replaced. Thank goodness it wasn’t bug season. There was 4 bed bugs in one bed which we reported and a exterminator was sent out the same day and nothing was found in any other rooms except the one. We didn’t go back in that room the rest of our stay 😝 Overall really loved this house for it’s location and size which the 7 of us hardly filled! I would rent it again for those reasons.

My husband and I brought 5 of our children, some of their spouses and our grandson for a week vacation. The house is old but there is a lot of character. The set up was amazing for our family and the location is phenomenal. Close to literally everything and right on the beach. Our family had such a fun time and we’re glad we chose the Barnett house.

I have to say that this house accommodated our needs well. It is an old home that has had some modernizations to it. But in my opinion, more are needed. We did have some issues with leaking water from ceiling and fridge leaking and called realty office who quickly responded to ceiling need. Only thing they said was that owner was replacing refrigerator but offered no resolution. It did propose a problem keeping food cold. We had to put things in coolers on ice all week which was a pain. Loved the screen porch and large family table for eating. The kitchen with 2 cook tops was great for cooking for a large group. Cleaning company could’ve vacuumed better… found lots of trash and remnants of previous guest and confetti. All in all it was a good week.

Great location and great house for a large family. Great large gathering space and right on the beach. Would definitely recommend for families looking for an affordable beach house.

The outside of this home smelled like pee, but once you get in the home it’s beautiful. The beds were just super small, and very uncomfortable. We were supposed to be there 3 days we only stayed 1. We ended up going to stay with friends. Myself and my husband could not fit in the bed together comfortably. This was every bed in every room sadly. All 12 of us left the next morning to find another place to stay. It’s a nice home. It just needs many upgrades.

The mgmt offered to pickup and return laundry. So they attempted to be very responsive. The property is fairly rundown but was clean and is an excellent layout to house 16 people. We bought drop cloths at Lowe’s to cover the very old couch.

This is an older property (house history info hangs on the wall) but it’s worked out great for us. We had two issues (kitchen disposal leak and AC went out) that were both addressed immediately and fixed within a couple hours. Love the screened porch and little deck out back. Also love that all linens and towels were provided. Kitchen was well stocked.

Communication with North Beach Realty was fantastic. I would be completely comfortable booking future vacations at their properties! Check-in and check-out was smooth and easy. Barnett House Top Pros: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! Exactly 100 steps from the base of the screened in porch stairs to the beach! Beach was crazy busy about 200 yards to the left and right, but not overcrowded directly in front of Barnett House! We had space! Grocery stores, drug stores, liquor stores, beach stores, etc all within a mile or two. We walked off dinner to buy margarita mix one night. Beach equipment provided in utility closet under porch stairs: several chairs, multiple large beach umbrellas, boogie boards, a skim board, toys, horse shoes, bocci, etc. The enormous dining table was great for our large group! We had AMAZING waves for Myrtle Beach! Body surfing and boogie boarding was excellent! Cons: We were not terribly surprised based on some of the reviews we read, but It was dirty. Beds were made, trash was emptied, towels were clean, and all dishes were put away. Other than that, I’m not sure if the cleaning crew did anything else. We spent our 1st hour cleaning. We found a vacuum cleaner in a closet that was completely filled with dirt, hair, etc. I personally had to dig the debris out. My wife then vacuumed and literally filled it back up again! 😳 We did empty it though! The ceiling fans and bathroom exhaust fans had a pretty thick layer of dust on them. We did not clean those. We did however scrub all of the bathtubs with Clorox wipes, as it was needed and overdue. Final thoughts: This condo is not for everyone! If you’re looking for something updated or luxurious, find something else because you will not be happy with Barnett Top. If you are ok putting in just a little bit of work and don’t mind staying in a condo that is a bit tired, the rewards are being connected to a great property management company, staying oceanside, in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to all of the necessary amenities. We were a group of 15, and had plenty of space! The price was appropriate for the property and I would happily stay there again on my next visit to MB! FYI - Bring trash bags, and if you have a large group, you’ll need to bring extra towels and toilet paper!!

The house has a lot of character but is dated. The beach is crowded due to having hotels on both sides of the house. The cleaning crew did a poor job as there was food on the floor and the kitchen floor was sticky. We did get some money refunded for the poor cleaning, which was appreciated. We could not get rid of the ants in the kitchen! Despite a pest service spraying and us buying our own ant traps. Check in doesn’t open until 4pm but then closes at 5pm - that’s ridiculous.

The home is in need of updates, loose doorknobs, screens in need of repair for a couple. There were ants in the kitchen, we bought traps and they were gone in a couple days. Nothing that spoiled anything, we had a great time.

The home was clean, but the house was a bit old dated. The people were so nice, the vacuums didn’t work but we called management and they sent one right away. The stairs going to the back were a bit lose and a little concerning.
