Beautiful resort but a bit busy. We stayed over NYE and attended the party which was great. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed very comfortable. Views from balcony nice and great to watch sunset. Big variety for breakfast.

Staff in pool bar restaurant was slow. There were so many of them yet it was still difficult to get someone’s attention but once they were with you they were very friendly :) location is far from city or other attractions. We rented a scooter which was delivered to hotel from town. There is free parking in the hotel.

- Massage/spa was fantastic, especially the hot ginger tea afterwards - Nice hotel with great views, room had great view - Staff very friendly and want to help, particularly My and Sparrow at poolside bar, sometimes language barriers but staff are trying hard given how busy it is. - Chocolate time good idea and always busy - Food is decent and good selection - Sea is great for swimming and feels safe - QR codes by pool and beach to order food is good and works well - Good selection of coffee in room - Big tv and nice comfy bed - Good size rooms and balcony

- Food expensive - Room cleaned too late, sometimes at 6pm when we are trying to get ready for dinner. Had to decline on a couple of occasions. - Room not clean on arrival, we had toe nails on the rug indoor and on the lounger outside and behind the sink is very grubby - Bedding not changed for the whole 11 nights we stayed - Not enough sun loungers (beach or pool) for the amount of guests. People reserve the sun beds early and never use them throughout the day. Feel like people were reserving both a beach and pool lounger. Perhaps provide beach towels in room for the number of guests and change them daily to avoid this. - Beach not the cleanest - Long queue for breakfast and very busy, even during the quiet hours. Second venue for breakfast available but was so quiet and food was cold. - Shower drain kept blocking and flooding the bathroom Overall we enjoyed our stay at Mövenpick but don’t feel like it was the 5* experience we were expecting and paid for. The cons individually weren’t a big deal but because there were so many they all added up and I don’t think any of them are particularly hard to resolve. We hope Mövenpick will take the steps to address them and the resort will be fantastic.

This is our second time staying here and we plan to return. It is not easy to find a place that checks all of the boxes for young adults aa well octogenarians and this place does. The staff are kind and attentive, dining options are fresh and well-considered. Look forward to our next trip.

I would like to see Phu Quoc become a plastic-free island. I appreciated that Mövenpick used paper straws and glass water bottles.

Staying at a hotel the second time after a wonderful first experience, brings in high expectations. Thankfully Movenpick Waverly Resort did not disappoint. Friendly service I think is their strongest suit. Of course, the resort is beautiful, beachfront with nicely decorated sea view rooms and real value for your money. The restaurant has a very large and varied breakfast buffet, while the dinner is good and well-priced for a hotel restaurant. Also had tapas and beer at the pool bar, again good and relatively inexpensive. I cannot overstate the convenience of good and affordable hotel restaurants. Service number 1. Quyen again provided excellent personally tailored professional service. One of her staff, Kai also greeted me as well as many other customers on every occasion. Personal attention to customers builds goodwill word of mouth that results in repeat customers. I have definitely spread the word to my friends and family. So many hotel employees provided excellent service that I can’t name them all but here’s as many as I can remember: Restaurant - Suli Binh Minh, Yen Nhi, Le Tung, Dopa Minh Anh, Nui, Truc Dao. These people just provide the friendliest service you can ever imagine. If they had a bad day, you would never know it, as all smiles and just truly pleasant people. Bar - Vu Doan, Hoàng Nguyen and Sparrow were pleasant and made sure I was comfortable with my broken leg. I believe these employees are real assets to the Hotel.

- very clean - spacious room - chocolate hour at 3.30pm was great - bathroom had a bathtub and shower - staff were very friendly and helpful - beach and sea was clean - pool was large - good buffet breakfast

a friend recommended me Movenpick and she was so right!! we loved everything: the breakfast, chocolate hour, the Saturday foam party, the yoga classes, the kid's room, the pool, the beach. we planned to do many things in phu quoc and we ended up staying in the hotel every day because it was so great, comfortable and fun. the staff was very nice

there are smoking areas (even near the pool). great for the people who smoke, but awful for the people with asthma, for instance... I could smell the cigarettes in many common areas

Breakfast was lovely with a good level of variety and friendly staff. They assisted our baby each morning and were really kind. The pool was gorgeous, and the beach area is beautiful. The sunsets are stunning - I recommend paying for the sea view and going down to the beach area for sunset. Prices for the spa were very reasonable, as were the restaurants (there are 2), particularly the beach bar, which did Happy Hour deals and 2-4-1 pizza deals.

I was a little disappointed that, despite organising it months in advance, a cot was not in our room for us arriving late at night with our 8 month old baby. However, they did send it up promptly. I feel that this kind of sums up our experience - nothing was overly negative, per se, but there were many small touches that made us feel more like a number and less like a valued guest. One major concern is the rules around smoking. We were travelling with our 8 month old baby, and took her to the pool every day. Many young children and other babies were present. Despite this, people were smoking around the pool, and the smoke was blowing over to our child. We checked the website, which states "Can you smoke inside Mövenpick Resort Waverly Phu Quoc? - Smoking is not permitted inside rooms or public areas at Mövenpick Resort Waverly Phu Quoc however there are designated smoking areas outside." and raised this with a member of staff. We were told that "the website is wrong" and we watched the staff member bring them an ashtray. I am shocked that a hotel that (with its kids club and playroom area) states it is suitable for families and children, and would allow them to be exposed to second hand smoke. I recommend that the hotel decide on their chosen policy, advertise this accurately on their website, and train staff on how to manage this effectively. I would also suggest that the hotel offers a shuttle bus to the main town for guests. Having had this feature at many other hotels in Vietnam before, I am surprised that a hotel so out of the way does not offer this for guests (even just in the evenings, for example).

Everything! The staff were wonderful, kind and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best offerings we’ve experienced, with a great selection of international cuisine. Restaurant food was great and the day spa, pool side vibe was excellent!

Difficult to communicate with people and staff in hotel. Some of the staff in reciption was not able to speak English.

Pool, beach and view from the room of sunset was exceptional. Breakfast was extensive. They also did an afternoon chocolate and cake hour, which was delightful. Also offered a shuttle to the airport. Staff were very attentive, even if they didn’t understand me half of the time haha. Gym facilities were also very good.

Cleaning could be a bit better, there were mushrooms growing on the bathroom mirror! Lol.

Sometimes the cleaning was done during breakfast, sometimes not. And sometimes there was the "Do not disturb" sign, but the cleaning staff was knocking. But it was ok, just a little misunderstanding about the organization of the cleaning service. Otherwise no other negative points.

When there is non stop rain several days in a row - you do not have any alternatives what to do. Just stay in your room

Snorkeling as a day activity on the hotels pamphlet was misleading as you actually had to contact an external tour guide. Soundproofing from room upstairs was terrible

Beautifully set up. Everything clean and the surrounding palm trees and the beach is so very clean. Just a wonderful place and well taken care of.

Maybe a bit too pristine. A little more nature and jungle would do the place good.
