Peaceful beach getaway

This place was great for relaxing vacation on Lake Huron. The house is in a great location and you can’t beat the views of Lake Huron. The beds are very comfortable and the house is very nice. Kitchen has everything you need, including a much appreciated Keurig! The hosts are very friendly. Great VRBO experience! Thank you!

Right on the beach as advertized which is exactly what we wanted.

Wonderful vacation with our four grandchildren, ages 6 to 18! The house worked for all of us. We loved the upstairs balconies, the view of Lake Huron absolutely stunning. The view over the kitchen sink I loved. I could see the water and the kids playing while preparing and prepping for meals. We have stayed at houses a little more well stocked in the kitchen utensil area, such as large spoons and more than one cutting board, measuring cups, however knives sharp and good quality! The cupboard space was great also .The refrigerator in the game room was a bonus! The spacious lower deck and table and chairs were a treat as well. I would recommend a bit of yellow tape on the deck floor where it changes levels. I really did not gather from the listing that the house was as close to the neighbors as it was, but not a problem! Noisy busy highway in front but we never heard it once out back because the beautiful sound of the waves! We called Bernard once with immediate response, no need to call again. Wonderful memories! The property is exactly as listed. The house was well furnished and very comfortable. I text the owners with a few questions. They were pleasant and very responsive. I would stay at this property again.

We had a very nice stay and thought the home was well stocked with everything you could need. In fact, probably the best stocked VRBO we've stayed in. The home was clean and very inviting. The view of the water was incredible. When you are in the living room you feel like you are right on the water. Make sure not to miss one sunrise! So beautiful! Thank you for opening up your home.

Hosts have kindly stocked the home with games and toys for all ages. We enjoyed playing ping pong and air hockey. The view from the balcony and deck is gorgeous, especially of the sunrise. We all slept comfortably. Not too far from Tawas if you're planning to spend time there.

This house was so nice and there were beautiful views of the lake from every room! It was the perfect place for my husband and me to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The communication with the owners prior to arrival was great and made the whole trip stress free. The house had everything we needed and was very clean.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a quick weekend for the family. There were plenty of sleeping accommodations for the 7 of us. We enjoyed the fire pit and the beach!

Great property with stunning views! Casa Playa was the perfect place for a friends' getaway and a chance to relax. Everything we needed was provided and the house was super comfortable. We definitely enjoyed the beach and recommend trying some of the suggested area restaurants! We hope to be back next fall!

The place was very clean but a little outdated. The beach is beautiful with a great fire pit right by the water. Will plan to return in the future. Host was always available

My family and I spent our annual Labor Day trip at this house. It was a great house for what we needed, everybody had a bed. It was located right on Lake Huron and my nephews got to do a lot of rock hunting. We found a lot of Petoskey stones and pudding stones. There were only two things that were a bit inconvenient. There was no address sign so it was hard to find the house when we arrived at night. Also there wasn’t an easy way to get down to the water. There were just two boards on either side as a way to walk over the rocks. My mother, who is in her 70s, was unable to go down to the water because of this. Other than that this is an amazing place to stay.

We had a wonderful time at this house. We stayed there with friends of ours and had such a relaxing time. The beach was great. The water was pretty shallow quite a ways out. The kids loved the ping pong and air hockey tables. Restaurant recommendations were appreciated. Mangos Mexican was amazing! Thanks so much for sharing your property with us.

The beach is amazing and loved it was right out the door :) The sunrises were breathless. We enjoyed our week.

Our 10 member 3 generation family had a great week at Casa Playa. Grandchildren ranged in age from 2 -12 years old. The house is very cute with great views of Lake Huron. The game room kept kids busy playing ping-pong and ice hockey. They also enjoyed drawing on the chalkboard which is cleverly placed in a small area by the stairway when they weren't playing in the sand at the beach which is just outside the door or skipping stones in the lake.. The kitchen was well stocked. Also communicating with Bernard was easy. He quickly responded to questions. The neighbors were friendly and the small towns were fun to visit with good eateries. Overall it was a very good experience and we would be happy to come back again some time.

We enjoyed our 2 weeks at the cottage very much. The water is so close! Loved the sound of the waves. It sounded like the ocean. Downtown Tawas to Ben Franklin store is a must! It is a throw back in time. Great ice cream and inexpensive 50's movie theater all on the same block. Hope to return sometime.

Beautiful property on the lake, quiet, neighbors are friendly and kind. House was comfortable, deck was great for evening dinners! Water perfect for younger kids.

While the sound of waves crashing on the beach is a soothing sound, it isn’t soothing when those waves are competing daily from dusk-to-dawn with the sound of earth moving and excavation equipment putting in new sewer lines directly in front of your rental for the length of the rental period. The house physically rattled at times during all of this. One didn’t have to fear sleeping away the vacation with this going on. This excavation interrupted traffic, as well. We were at the mercy of the construction vehicles when it came time to enter or exit the property. Traffic was limited to one-way only depending on what was going on. There was no driveway, but only a narrow (one-vehicle width) packed dirt path to US 23 North. The packed earth was the source of lots of swirling dust as the earth-moving equipment rumbled up-and-down the road in front of the rental. Had we known this construction would be going on, we would not have rented this property. It’s as simple as that. A discount on what we paid would be an appropriate gesture to compensate us for this inconvenience and disappointment. We did not consider this a positive experience and cannot give this outcome anything more than a one-star rating. Thank you for this opportunity to voice our opinion.

Awesome cabin to rent and a great location we had a great time.

Casa Playa was such a great place to stay for a week with extended family and Ivonne was the most gracious and helpful host! Perfect communication a few days prior to check in and the day of and even throughout our stay as needed. Always really fast to reply and incredibly caring and wanting the best for our trip. The house was roomy and clean when we arrived, with JUST enough space for 10 people, but think it’d be more comfortable with 6-8 to prevent having to have someone sleeping in the living room. We had 4 smaller kiddos in our group and air mattresses to spread everyone out and it worked out great. The kitchen is well stocked with everything that you need to cook and 2 full sized fridges was helpful! The gameroom was perfect for the kiddos and having sand right off the deck was nice (although messy in the house lol). I fought to get the master with the king bed, but lost and ended up in the bedroom with the queen. The queen was comfy (but pretty loud when getting in/out when trying to not wake the toddler sleeping on the floor), the roll away bed and sofa sleeper needed an air mattress on it to be sleepable, the king bed was perfect, and the futon/bunk was good for the other kiddos in our group. Being on Lake Huron was such a fun experience and the water levels were perfect for kiddos to jump in off the rocks (when it wasn’t too wavy). We put a rug over the rocks to make it easier to walk on and get over the wall. Plenty to do around the area…East Tawas is a short drive away, seeing the springs, or renting a pontoon to take on the Au Sable River is nearby too. A farmers market on Wed RIGHT down the road was perfect too! We had awesome weather for our week, so being able to sit outside and eat lunch/dinner with enough room/seats was the best; I’m still missing waking up and sitting on the deck enjoying coffee, game nights with allllll the games provided, and nights around the bonfire. We had a wonderful time. The home was beautiful and clean. The beach was clean with just a few steps to the water. Ivonne was quick to respond to any all our questions. My family really enjoyed our week.

This property has some of the best lake huron views I've ever experienced. My wife and I left the master sliding door open all night to experience the fresh air and sounds of the waves crashing, while our toddler slept peacefully in the room next door. One of the mornings the weather cooperated and we were able to see a spectacular panoramic sunrise over the lake right from our bed! The house had everything we needed for our stay, and even had some extras like beach toys for our daughter to play with. The host seemed very nice and was amazingly quick to respond to any and all questions via text. The only downside was the high water level preventing the private beach from being swimmable, but our daughter had fun in the sand regardless. We had a great time at this property and would highly recommend to families.
