Having to pay to park your car at the hotel is a joke when we spent 2 nights there which had already cost us upwards of €600

It was very clean great ambience. Staff were very efficient and helpful great teamwork there.

The coffee

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good.

A walk in shower would be better than a shower over a bath.

Handy if you want to go to Heuston rail or luas into city or airport bus.

The parking in hotel was hard to find and we ended up in one way system that we couldn’t get to the main parking entrance. The signs need to be up and directions. Later, the Taxi dropped us off outside the one way entrance as he couldn’t find the way in to front hotel. Also very pricey for 1 night. We barely got to explore the hotel so we cannot say other than the room and reception.

The Ashling Hotel is a very nice hotel that is a short walk from Heuston Station in Dublin. It is also near Phoenix Park but it is not that close to O'Connell Street and Grafton Street and the main tourist areas of Dublin. That said, the LUAS tram stop is only a couple of minutes walk and not being in the heart of Dublin was actually a plus for us. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. We could hear some street noise but, being away from most of the busy streets, it was not bad. The restaurant is good and the staff were very helpful. When my wife left her glasses at a cafe down the street on the day we checked out, the people at the cafe took them to the hotel and the hotel sent them to us. The glasses got home before we did. This is not a cheap hotel. That said, you get what you pay for and I think this was worth the money

I know we arrived early for check in and accepted it when we were told we had to wait for a couple of hours. Decided to sit in their seats in the checking in area to wait. Within a very short time a girl arrived and without hesitation got checked in. Shortly afterwards two other couples arrived and checked in. I went to the counter and asked why we couldn't check in. Our room was looked up and told it was available. Wasn't even checked initially. Why??!!

Location

Staff seemed very vague on reception and in the bar area. They were not at all welcoming. Breakfast staff were the complete opposite- friendly, helpful and welcoming.
