Steve’s cottage was amazing for my husband and I and our two teenage girls. He provided snacks and coffee, and even some water bottles. We were able to spend a day with friends on Mullet Lake, and it was a short drive to the catch the ferry to visit Mackinac Island. The beach was a short walk away, and he had chairs and towels for your convenience. Everyday we walked around the neighborhood to marvel at the beautiful flowers and even met people fishing on the dock. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thanks Steve!

My husband and I come to Indian River often as his family has had property here for decades. We love it so much up here that when we got engaged, we could only imagine having our wedding here! We wanted a place of our own over the weekend and it was the perfect location for us. It’s right by town, so you can walk to everything from ice cream at Drost’s or Dairy Mart to breakfast at Christopher’s Cafe to Northland Brewery for yummy beers! The home was clean when we arrived and was fully stocked with anything we needed. I texted Steve that I couldn’t find an iron and 5 minutes later it’s at the doorstep! We also arrived to the sweetest card congratulating us on our marriage, which was such a sweet personal touch. Steve, thank you for opening up your beautiful home for my husband and I to enjoy our wedding weekend, we will forever cherish the memories we had there!

My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much, the house is very nice and cozy. Close distance to many interesting places in the area. The host was easy to reach and communicate with. Would definitely stay there again.

This house is nicely situation about 200 yards from Burt Lake, a short walk into downtown Indian River, and close to main roads (25 minutes to downtown Cheboygan, 30 minutes to skiing at Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands. Great attention to detail - this was one of the best furnished and best stocked vacation rentals we have ever had. The beds and pillows were especially comfortable, and the property had all the necessary amenities.

The property better than portrayed! It was impeccably clean! The main room was cozy and inviting! The kitchen alliances were top notch!! The beds comfy! Myself and two friends needed a place to rest and recover! We had “fallen out” during the pandemic, with hurt feelings and emotional distance! Our host, Steve was thoughtful and communicated all the necessary information. We had a nice family fall weekend getaway to Indian River. Steve’s property was cozy with all the comforts of home and super clean! The location is great - just a short walk to Burt Lake. Steve is an amazing host, very accommodating. Also, he offered suggestions for things to do and good places to eat in the area. Plan to go back again sometime and explore the area more. Would definitely stay the same property, it was wonderful. Thank you Steve!

We stayed here for the second year in a row and just like the previous one, it was great. We love the location and everything about the house. The house is so warm and welcoming and anything you may have forgotten I swear he has them there for you. We plan on coming back next year.

My sister's and I take my Mom on a vacation every fall. We love coming to Michigan. Steve's home in Indian River was centrally located to what we planned on seeing. We visited Paradise Michigan and visited White Fish Point Ship Wreak Museum, Watched the ships go through the locks at Sault Ste. Marie, visited St. Ignace, took a day trip to Mackinac Island and shopped in Frankenmuth at the world's largest Christmas Store. We enjoyed relaxing mornings at Steve's home and when we returned home in the evening, enjoyed cooking in his nice kitchen and enjoyed relaxing in the back yard. The home is well stocked with towels, bathroom incidentals if you forgot your toothpaste! There are 3 bedrooms, 2 have very comfortable queen beds, the third room has two twin beds which were very comfortable for adults. The kitchen was very nice, nice gas stove, (gas grill in back yard) dishwasher, 4 slice toaster, coffee pot, microwave oven, blender, crock pot, mixer. The home is so cozy and comfortable, we could have stayed another week! There is this cool board walk through the back yard which gets you closer to Burt Lake. Burt lake is a beautiful, clean lake with wonderful sand beaches. It was a little too cool to be in the water, but we loved walking down by the lake. Thank you, Steve, for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This was the second time that I stayed at this property, and I have already booked it again for a third trip next year! Great house, great location, and a great host! Everything about this rental property is perfect.

The place was neat and clean, very well furnished to make our stay very comfortable. Steve was extremely helpful in our communications with him. We would gladly stay there again, and assure anyone else to not hesitate to stay there. The location is excellent - a short walk to the lake, near the main part of town and very easy to find. Definitely well worth it!! A wonderful place to be when visiting that area (less than 30 minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island.)

This was our 3rd year staying at this property. It was as wonderful as the previous years. Noticable upgrades to the property and everything you would need including beach chairs, beach towels, grill with extra propane if neded. Location is excellent with short distance to beach and lake. Also nice location for day trips to other locations. Host is very responsive and has great communication with any needs. We will be back.

Steve was so easy to work with from beginning to end. Cottage is comfortable and well appointed, with just about everything you need for your get away. A great location to explore the northern part of Michigan and Mackinac Island.

This location is centrally located and allows traveling to the west side and Mackinac with ease. The home is charming and a wonderful place to get away from our hectic lifestyles. We had an amazing time!!

This was our second summer staying here and we were so happy to do it again! The home is in great condition with lots of thoughtful amenities and new appliances. We are big fans of the backyard!! The location is wonderful: walking distance to coffee, groceries, and restaurants, and just a few minutes through the backyard to a small beach. There’s also a larger beach and small pier along the river that’s only a 7-minute walk from the house. It was so nice for our family (4 kids ages 6 and under); thanks, Steve!

This is our 2nd year staying at this property. We liked it so much the first time, we came back! The house is very comfortable, clean, well decorated and homey. The location is perfect - you can walk to get coffee, grocery, ice cream, etc. The boardwalk to the beach is convenient and Steve, the host, has left everything you need to enjoy it. We rent a lot of Vrbos and especially enjoy when the host has thought of everything you need to be comfortable. There was a blender, containers for left overs, extra travel sized toothpaste and contact solution, laundry detergent, etc. He really thinks of everything and it is a pleasure to rent this house.

Can’t say enough good things about this property and the host, Steve. Property was immaculate, decor was perfect, use of space was creative without losing any convenience. Left there feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to face whatever life throws at me. Thank you Steve for everything.

This property was clean and had everything you could need. Steve is the ultimate host, thanks for the clear instructions, restaurant suggestions and water and snacks. Checking in was easy. The cottage is so cute and the landscaping is to die for. It was great to have so much charming outdoor space with fire pit and a path to the beach area. We loved eating at Christopher's cafe and traveling to Mackinaw Island and surrounding areas like Sault Ste Marie. This is a great, relaxing place to stay!
