You can even spot the top of the Basilica da Estrela out the window – a rarity for a ground floor flat. But the best part about this place is the excellent location. Bairro Alto, known as Lisbon's bohemian district, is home to trendy restaurants, lively Fado bars, old-style cafes, art galleries and independent shops. Check out the many beautiful churches sprinkled across this vibrant neighbourhood, or hop on one of the iconic trams and weave your way up into the hills. This is the perfect spot to go exploring – you're only a four-minute walk from Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara (one of the best viewpoints in the city) and just a twenty-minute stroll from the historic city centre.
