Cleanliness

The location was very convenient. The staff were good and helpful. After the group checked out at 11 AM, the hotel agreed to keep the luggage till night. This was a great gesture from the hotel which helped the group very much.

The security could be better. A group of college girls does attract attention, but the hotel has to take care that nobody creates any disturbance to them in the hotel.

Nothing except the Location

I had a road trip with my 9 friends from Chennai to Kanyakumari. We were looking for budget accommodations that offered basic facilities and nice and clean lodging because our trip was on a tight budget. On December 25, Pondicherry was completely booked, with those who had availability offering exorbitant rates. We found Bharati Residhome, were misled by the ratings and pictures, and made reservations for three rooms for ten people while paying additional person fees. 1) The owner was not available when we booked into the hotel (which is actually a homestay), and the single staff member who was there was unable to speak Hindi or English and was occupied with scrolling reels. 2) When we had a room tour, we found that the pictures and reviews we had seen online had misled us. No such rooms existed, the toilets were too small and filthy, not even cleaned, there were only four towels provided for the 10 of us, there had been a deal for four extra beds, but only two extra bedroll were provided, and the king-size bed was actually a single and a half-person bed, the common AC remote controlled all three rooms, and there was no drinking water was full of germs deposited on bottom. 3) We contacted the owner right away and informed him of our problems. He was extremely rude to us on the phone and demanded that we check out of the homestay and request a refund by midnight. We managed to keep our tempers under control, and because it was already beyond ten o'clock, we had no alternative but to extend our stay. 4) The owner walked in the following morning, and although we stated our concerns, he was just interested in the amount of his balance and didn't care about the problems we had the previous evening. With all of this in mind, I once again urge you to avoid being duped by Bharati Residhome's favourable online ratings and images.

The rooms were big enough to met the needs. We are group of 8 people,everyone settled easily. Three washrooms are available. Overall good property.

Kitchen can be improved.

Small size of room. The Washroom wasn't clean when we arrived and was stinking.

Rooms were fresh and clean

Second floor room with no lift. Staff not helpful. Mosquito problem in rooms.

Close to the beach

I think the staff coul have been more attentive I think it was because of language barrier but still the service should be quick you shouldn't be asking for things again and again we had to ask for towel that should have been provided without asking the staff was not attentive we asked him for towel 4 to 5 times he gave us one towel after reminding many time please work on this

The staff were decent and polite. The location was also a prime location, close to beach and market.

The facility doesn't have elevator. The housekeeping is not regular and round the clock available.

100 % Value for Money, Excellent

Pros: Place is very near to Rock Beach and all other French town restaurants. New property and Kugan available all the time for your needs and helpful.

Cons: Kitchen was not functional by the time we visited and was made dirty by previous occupants. We faces difficulties with small kids when kitchen is mandatory. Kugan mentioned to upgrade it in few days though.

we liked the cleanliness and staff cooperation.

Host is very friendly and arrangements were done on time. He took ownership and guided us way to stay from bus stand to back to bus stand where we need to board. Also he arranged bikes. Staff is very friendly and rooms were neat. We were 6 girls and it had 3 separate rooms, hall, kitchen and 3 bathrooms. Just 1 km away from Rock beach. French colony is just 700mts away. Many restaurants and cafe near by. This villa included drinking water facility as well. There was washing machine and fridge too! AC were in good condition too. Over all honestly satisfied and best place to stay. We extended our stay and owner charged very reasonable amount.

Only thing we didn like is local waste bin is very near to stay.
