excellent everything in the house

Beautifully designed and located directly on the beach. Handicap accessible. Too many amenities to list - everything we needed was there and the Property Manager, Esther Butler, was a delightful person and always responded within minutes, but we didn't need much, Starfish House has it all!

This home is directly on a white sand beach with crystal clear aqua water. The view from the living room was directly of the ocean. It took our breath away every time we walked in. The home itself was thoughtfully appointed with an open concept, high quality double appliances and sleeping quarters with en suite bathrooms. The set up was perfect for our large family with teen and young adult children. Communication with the owners was excellent, and with the on site property manager it was overall good. Unfortunately, several maintenance issues plagued our stay. Both air conditioning units for the main living area were not functional. The bedrooms were air conditioned but the kitchen, dining and living area were not. When we arrived, 2 large fans were cooling the area, and the manager later brought a 3rd. The room was 75-80 throughout our stay which was tolerable but it was humid and the fans were loud and blowing wherever we sat. We were not notified before we arrived. It was very humid in the main part of the house and the 2 main floor bedrooms smelled very musty. I found a mildew stain on my bed pillow and on a basket liner in the closet of our bedroom. We were provided with 2 high quality ocean kayaks that we enjoyed but the advertised SUPs were broken and couldn't be used. One of the two dishwashers did not drain and couldn't be used. The bathtub drain did not drain but the manager unclogged it. There were power outages almost every day, usually multiple times.

We chose Starfish House for our first trip to Exuma and it exceeded our expectations! The property was immaculate with a great location and stunning views. We cannot wait to book again!

This is our second stay at the Star Fish Property, and I think we will keep bringing our friends and family to stay here year after year. The home has everything you need! Plenty of space to spread out. Very family-friendly and well stocked from cookware to outside activities like kayaks and paddleboards. The beach right outside in your backyard is so beautiful! We hardly ever see any other people around. Thanks for another wonderful stay. We will be back!

We had a group of 12 over a week long stay. The photo's don't do the setting justice, it really is a wonderful beachfront view. The house fit all of us really well, including the use of the bunkie. On the subject of the bunkie.....this is the one complaint I have. We paid an additional nightly fee to rent out this space & came to discover on arrival that the space is not 100% finished. The countertops in the kitchenette and bathrooms were just plywood (splintery at that). This was not shown in the photos on the listing - it was a bit embarrassing to invite a couple to join our group, show up and have them staying in an unfinished space. I feel this should've been made apparent when we booked it. Aside from that, the house is equipped with everything you might need, including beach toys & water sports equipment. We had a lot of fun hanging out on what felt like our private beach! Grocery shopping in town was a bit of an adventure, never knowing what will be stocked up (we did visit over spring break/Easter which seemed to exasperate this issue). The sand flies are viscous, so come prepared with a lot of bug spray! Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this house!

Enjoyed the stay at the Starfish House. You couldn’t ask for a better location and view for a relaxing week on the beach.

We had a great stay at the Starfish house. We were 3 families, 14 people total. Esther greeted us with a warm welcome. The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was huge and well stocked. Nice pans and knifes and appliances which is not always the case with rentals. We could have used more bath towels and beach towels for our large group but the washers and dryers made it not a big deal. The house was stocked with life jackets, umbrellas, beach toys and even a volleyball net. We enjoyed some calm days right there at the house and if it was windy we just went down the street to jolly hall beach or hoopers bay and they were beautifully sheltered. We also enjoyed a private boat tour with “island boy.” We swam with sharks, saw iguana island, island hopped and snorkeled in the thunderbolt grotto which were all amazing. We thought the exuma market had the best groceries and prime had the best meats. All close by. We did have sone miscommunication with Lawrence Rolle about our car rental pick up and car size needs which made for a bumpy first day but it was all remedied and he got us a 15 passenger van. I’d gladly stay at the Starfish house again!

Took all our adult children and grandchildren for Xmas vacation. House had everything we needed and was well equipped for infants and toddler.

We had a blast at Starfish House! It met all the needs of our party of 9 and then some...it was incredibly well appointed - especially the kitchen -- and the on site support was superb. The beds were comfy, the beach was beautiful and we had so much fun on day trips including visiting the swimming pigs. The only downside was the sand bugs...just bring some anti-itch spray and bug spray and you'll be fine.

Wonderful vacation because this property was everything we needed. From the location to the private beach, from the patio with lots of seating areas and a beautiful view, to the garage full of water sport and beach toys. The kitchen was modern with ample appliances as was the laundry area. Rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds and spacious private bathrooms. We loved this property and would recommend to anyone. The place is ideally located for beach and a short drive to Georgetown. So organized! Booking to the labels on the drawers in the kitchen.

It is hard to put into words how amazing Exuma and The Starfish House actually are. The water was the most gorgeous blue and the house was immaculate. The kitchen was equipped top notch. The beds were comfortable and the amenities second to none. We had a fabulous time and certainly didn’t want our trip to end. All of the communication was timely and friendly. We will be back!

The starfish house is amazing. It’s in a perfect central location on the island. Esther was so easy to reach with any questions. We will definitely be back to starfish house.

Starfish House is a true treasure. It is centrally located and has ALL the amenities and things you could possibly need. Waking up to beach views is amazing as well as sitting on the huge porch at any time of the day relaxing or playing games. There is plenty of room inside and out for everyone. The beds are super comfy and the the bathrooms are very spacious. There are 2 of all the major appliances which was super helpful with washing towels, dishes and clothes. The house was absolutely gorgeous and we loved being on the beach. Definitely want to come back to this piece of paradise.

Great location on Tar Bay with all of the amenities and accommodations for our party of 9 (2 separate families). We had a great time cooking in the large gourmet kitchen (everything you need), using the kayaks and paddle boards, and chilling oceanfront for the week. Place was very clean and comfortable with beds for everyone! The local dogs visiting on the patio were a pleasant surprise. We highly recommend for your next stay in Exuma, especially those traveling in large parties.

The Starfish home is beautiful! The home is clean, spacious, and perfect for a family of 12. The appliances and kitchen amenities are amazing. The furniture is comfortable and provides a place for everyone to sit, including the outdoor furniture. The beach in front of the home is breathtaking! The view is beautiful and only a few steps away with no rocks in the ocean. The chairs, kayaks, paddle boards, beach toys, etc are perfect for a fun relaxing day at the beach. The owner communicates well through VRBO and the property manager is very kind and quick to respond if needed. I highly recommend the Starfish home.

Starfish house is the 4th property that we have stayed in during our Exuma visits over the last few years. The house was very comfortable, accommodating 12 of us, with the almost completed bunkie suite as our 5th bedroom. The owners have been very responsive from the beginning of our booking, and the property manager and her staff have been very responsive and helpful as well. Kitchen is well-equipped (a drawer full of spices, some non perishables left behind by past renters), regular coffeemaker and keurig. Enough plates etc, all the kitchen/cooking stuff you need is available. We also used their propane bbq grill. They have kayaks and SUPs, lifejackets as well. Snorkel gear is also available but we brought our own. I saw board games, books (I left my book that I finished reading as well) to pass the time if needed, bug spray. Beds and seating areas are comfy as well. There are homes on either side but that didn’t bother us. Beach is nice and quiet, water is variable depending on weather - we’ve experienced both calm, and rough. We didn’t mind not having a pool. We have rented homes with and without. Prime Island Meats is about 5 mins away, beaches north, Georgetown, and Little Exuma are all within an easy drive. We definitely would recommend Starfish House and would stay there again. Few homes boast the perfect beach' stellar accommodations, and staff that was responsive when small issues came up. You walk through the door to look out at the beach and all you say everytime you get back to house is "that just doesnt ever get old. Owner provides beach games, snorkel gear' paddle boards and kayaks. Always something to do. Chef Joe a former ritz carlton chef will come and cook for 2 to 15. Open floorplan makes it possible to entertain yet seperate bedrooms provide private space. Pictures DONT DO IT JUSTICE. Worth every dollar spent.

We absolutely loved our stay. The house had everything we needed, the beach was literally at the porch. Wish we were back there now!

Wow we just got back from paradise and the home could not have been more perfect! From the moment we walked in and saw the impressive views of the bluest ocean, we new we picked the right home for our stay in Exuma. We are already looking at future dates! The home had everything you could need to enjoy your stay including beach towels, spices to cook, water toys including kayaks, snorkel equipment, paddle boards, and life jackets. They even set us up with baby equipment (high chair and pack n play). The location is perfect right in the middle of Exuma (15 min from the airport), and one of the most beautiful beaches you'll ever see! We hardly ever saw other people. You'll see the most magically sunrises here too. Our family has travelled the world, and this is a place we will talk about forever! I usually don't write reviews, but this home was paradise. Don't hesitate on this home. Thanks Jim for surpassing our expectations in every way!! Note: We used the car rental recommendations that Jim sent in our welcome package when you book. We also loved our custom boat excursion through "Island Exclusive Boat Rentals" (you can customize your trip with a captain). Go see Coco Plum Beach at low tide, have lunch at Blu Restaurant on a pretty day, and take a boat to "lazy river" at high tide! Not too far from the home is Hoopers Bay where you can swim with the sea turtles right from the shore. Enjoy!

The starfish house exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing time at this house. Location, location, location. This home is perfectly located on the island. I can not say enough about this home. You will not be disappointed. Our experience was wonderful and our interaction with the owners and property manager was top notch. Enjoy your visit and sit back without a worry in the world.😀

The house was perfect for our family. It was spacious and a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining. The beach was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
