Very good common areas. Nice kitchen. Lots of travelers, so therefore easy to meet people.
The dorm has no air conditioner, the room is quite small considering the number of beds, and the mattress is very soft. The room gets very hot at night. But the worst thing is the bathroom situation. Only 3 bathrooms or so for all the guests. Along with the waiting, it also lacks water sometimes

Not organized well… Staff were not that interested, the dorm was too warm, the kitchen so small for so many people , the first hostel in my 41 countries I visited who not only they didn’t make the bed and I had to change the bedsheets myself, but also they didn’t even bother to fold the blanket and gave the Messy bed from the previous guest to me. There are lockers but the receptionist had to look for soooo long to find the keys

I had a pleasant stay here and would stay here again! Our room was simple and affordable for Almaty. We were very happy with the location as it was very walkable, staff were really kind and friendly, kitchen was great, and everything was clean.
The description on booking.com is very misleading. Services like yoga/fitness classes, sauna, movie nights, tennis court, etc.. are listed which feels quite inaccurate. The sauna had been out of service for 3 months and was storing cleaning supplies and there was no evidence of the other things listed. I have been to hostels that really do have those things so it was a bit disappointing to come here and realize they did not have it. They should remove those from their description.

good location and great value for money. friendly staff and clean property. The staff were very helpful when I had trouble to pay taxi or needed to book Yandex to go around city/to Airport.
it would be amazing if there are tea bags / coffee powder which can be offered free of charge in the shared kitchen.

Kitchen and common areas OK (staff clean regularly, unfortunately some guests make a mess), Wi-Fi OK, parking possible in the garage for one car. Location good within walking distance to downtown, restaurants and markets. Fine for one night.
Very uncomfortable and obsolete bed at the green room. We liked it much more at Wanderlust Riverside, which is a better hostel for a longer stay (better location, more parking, more comfortable).

the washroom, there were 3 washrooms for sharing but most of the time its unavailable.

Nice ambience. Room is spacious enough. Very responsive to messages. Kitchen tools are free to use and complete.
Shower and WC combined. Difficult when other guests want to use either when we use it.

The staff were helpful and the place was a reasonable location in Almaty.
Only after paying I was informed by staff that that was only one shower working in the entire hostel (the others did look like they had been boarded up for a while too)....and when I tried to use the working one it was a mere icey drip. Luckily the staff let me switch to a sister hostel, but I do wish I was informed of this before paying and/or they fixed the issue before selling places in the rooms.

A lot of young people are living and working from the hostel, so you'd always have a full common area.
There was a problem with water on the upper floors, so there was only one bathroom available to shower on the ground floor. Most of the times there was no warm water and the water pressure was low as well.
Also the bed was already kind of old with a very soft mattress.

Everything was really good staff people. Specially Daulet there is a star person he never say no to anything. He’s always there to help whenever you want.

Beds were very flimsy and made a lot of noise.
The bed was not made at the time of check-in, the staff simply gave me sheets and asked me to make it. At least this should have been kept ready. No water pressure in showers. Bathrooms were too few for the number of people staying.

A special shout-out to the staff members: Sam, Ruslan and Aidana! They created an atmosphere like nowhere else! My stay was perfect - definitely worth sharing with my grandkids! Thank you very much, thank you Almaty. Loved every second of my time there
