Good location. Terrible hotel. Just not worth the money. For the money find a different hotel.
4.1
In a seven-night stay we had four different rooms because of extreme street noise on 12th floor, plumbing problem, and defective loud air conditioner. In the fourth room, they replaced the air conditioner so we didn't have to move again. With all that I would probably stay here again because location, eager to please staff, and breakfast all superior.
Strongly suggest asking for room on backside if street noise bothers you.

Our room was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping was inconsistent. One day we didn't get a bath mat. Another day we didn't get coffee. The elevators worked some of the time. On game day there was only one elevator so people were squishing themselves in. The location was convenient.
4.1
Great place and location to walk to sites

Everyone from check in to check out were professional, friendly and helpful. The people who work in the grab and go cafe were wonderful. The breakfast had great choices and was very fresh. The housekeeping staff were terrific. The hotel is in a great, convenient area!

Only stayed one night. I was surprised at how spacious the room felt. We had a ton of windows. Bed was comfy. Room clean and updated! The parking garage was adjacent and super convient. I really hope to come again and stay for much longer.

everything was fine except no free waters we should have had and I asked for didnt get. not enough towels. otherwise fine

Property could user some updating/ maintenance. Cracks in sink and shower. Also, shower wasn't clean - visible hair. The door to the adjoining room let a lot of noise through (the other room was not in our party, they were strangers).
4.1
Always a very satisfactory place to stay especially fro performances at the Academy of Music. Bathroom sink had large crack in it, toilet too close to tub and very low. Otherwise fine. Cookies fantastic!!!
4.1
Staff was fantastic. Top floors desperately in need of update and repairs. The cookies were warm and delicious. I would stay in the future.
4.1
Everything was great except we were next to a crying baby all night.

The beds were comfortable. The carpet was old and sticky. I had to keep my shoes on. If you are a tall person be prepared to use a short toilet. The parking garage was very compact and creepy.
4.1
The parking was not convenient and the wait in line to check in was really long. The hotel and rooms were nice.
4.1
I always make the habit to check the bedsheets to make sure there are no bed bugs and that there are no stains. I did find a stain on the bedsheet and requested for a fresh bedsheet which was brought up promptly.
We like to use pool whenever we can but stayed away from this pool because it was filthy and probably was not even safe to swim in it.
Also, we saw a sign in garage to bring our ticket to front desk to have it validated but was told there was no need to do that. Then when we proceed to depart, we actually had to pay for the parking. Misleading information.

The room was good. It had a nice view. The smell when you entered the room was not pleasant. It may be that the carpet needed to be cleaned .

It was a weekend in the city to see a concert, have dinner, and unwind. We treated ourselves to a Junior Suite with a great view of the City. The only negative was that the sitting area in the room had a musty smell like someone who needed a shower had sweated on the seat cushions. Otherwise, the hotel and room were great.

Over all we had a great stay. The location is great. Room was very nice and housekeeping was very friendly. The ice machines are on the 5 th floor and both broke mid stay and were never fixed which was annoying. The hotel has 22 floors so it seemed odd they only are at one location. Breakfast service was very poor the day we ate there…very slow and there seemed to be plenty of staff. They just didn’t seem to eager to work. Service in the bar was good though. I would stay there again.
4.1
The beds suck. Both bed sunk in the middle very badly. I have a very bad back and the bed had to be the worst bed I have ever slept in. Everything else was very nice.
4.1
Check in person was rude. They’re very short staffed.

Neither the hot water nor the outlet worked on my second night. When I spoke to the hotel, no efforts were made to remediate the issue or to offer a different room. Rather, I was given a $50 credit, which I don't think was adequate.

Was off to a bad start with the rude baggage handler in the lobby. First room had non-fonctioning AC, and we could barely turn off the shower. Had to request a room change at 10:30pm. Second room was in just as bad of a condition as the first one, but at least the AC was working. It was a room for 4 people, and only had 3 towels. This hotel is long overdue for a major remodel; it’s old, outdated, and in bad condition. Not worth the price at all. We’ve stayed in much nicer 2-star hotels compared to this supposed “4-star” Doubletree.

Oooof. Have stayed at a lot of Philly hotels and this is by far my worst experience - probably the only bad experience.
Starting with check in. The line was EXTREMELY long to check in and they only had one person working at the time - keep in mind this was at approx 3/330pm which was check in time. Unacceptable. We decided to leave and attempt to check in after our days events. Came back at 11pm and another long line. This time luckily they had 2 people working but the process was still extremely slow. They tried to give out some cookies to smooth things over - i'd rather the manager help out with check ins then give out some cookies.
Room looked good at 1st but after spending some time in there, the sheets had some stains on them. We saw a mouse and called to ask for a new room. No luck, but they said they would send someone up. It took over an hour for anyone to show up. In the meantime I tried to hunt down the mouse myself. No luck but did discover plenty of droppings.
Another note from the night - bar closed around 10:30-11pm which is WAY too early for a friday night.
Next morning we went to breaking at the Balcony. Service was ok, but the breakfast was sub-par. $25 a person for buffet was extreme. Tried to use the bathroom there but it was covered in piss and feces. Unusable.
Check in FAIL
Room FAIL
Service FAIL
Restaurant and breakfast FAIL
Bathroom FAIL
Location was good, so I'll give them that.
But never again - mgmt should be embarrased

The front desk staff were rude. They did not provide eye contact, therefore when I walked up to the desk after being called I walked up to a woman who I assume was unavailable based on the way she non verbally pointed her finger at the other young lady who finally glanced up (but still did not greet me) to help check me.
Our room lost power for 40 minutes. No lights, tv or power to charge devices.
Our sink was stopped up. Any time you ran the water to wash your hands or bush teeth it would fill the sink!
At 5:30 AM the emergency alarm started blaring for about 5 mins with no instructions other than to stay in our room and wait for further instructions. Being on the 22nd floor with 2 children this put me in an extreme state of anxiousness. Finally after 5 minutes someone came on the emergency broadcast system to tell us it was a false alarm. Needless to say I couldn’t sleep after that.
I called the front desk 4 times to ask for towels that morning. They assured me they put a request in however an hour and half went by NO TOWELS. Towels showed up as I was walking out of the room to check out.
To put the icing on the cake. As I was walking out of the hotel I was greeted by a woman who claimed she was in management. I shared with her my experience, she jotted down notes and apologized however did not offer me anything in an effort to try to save a customer INSTEAD she tried to sell me a time share!
Overall, it was a terrible experience!

My suite was missing amenities upon check-in (e.g., soap, body wash, and the do not disturb sign). Staff were friendly and responsive to my inquiries for support.

We stayed for 2 nights July 27 & 28th. Check in was uneventful except for the lovely warm cookies they gave us. When we settled in and turned all the lights off I heard something crawling around in the wall or ceiling. Turn on the lights to find that it wasn’t in the ceiling. It was a mouse running around our room. Let the staff know but no one did anything. At about 5 AM the same night the emergency alarm went off and we had to get up and get dressed because we did not know what the emergency was. They later came on and said it was an accident. Didn’t matter though because we were up for the day after zero sleep. Started vacay day one very exhausted. Zero apologies for either the mouse or alarm. I’m sorry, but I think it’s a huge inconvenience to wake up your guests at 5 o’clock in the morning with a scary alarm after they’ve already been dealing with a mouse running around the room at midnight.

While I was checking in, I’m not exactly sure what it was, but they claimed there was some systematical issue and didn't give me my room key. Instead, they called security to bring me up. It seemed like the person after me received his key.
Security opened a room and told me to go in. When I asked why this was happening and how I can go out for dinner without the room key, he said “it’s just happened. And it’s late, you are not going anywhere, huh?” It was 6:30 at that time, and I couldn’t understand at all. I told him I was planning to go out for dinner soon, but he just offered to bring food up once I order food with delivery app. I spent whole night anxious, without my room key and unable to have dinner as I wished. Sorry, but I'm an 20s Asian girl and to be honest, I’m skeptical whether there was actually a system issue, and even if there was, they should have explained what was going on and offered appropriate service.
Also, I might have let it go if the room had been good, but it was the tiniest room at the end of the hallway, and the air conditioner was so loud I couldn't sleep at all. This was a business trip, and I have more trips coming up, but I will never stay at this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay. The lighting in room wasn’t very bright. But nothing to prevent me to not return.

Clean and spacious. Comfortable beds.
Street noise (automobiles blasting music) was annnoying. Bathroom could have used more towels and a full supply of tissues.

It was okay for one night. Standard.

Room was clean & comfortable. All staff we encountered were friendly and courteous. We parked in the lot connecting to the hotel, and walked to restaurants nearby. We were in town for a concert at the stadium and the with the Subway entrance so close by, it made our trip to/from the Sports Complex quick and easy. Would definitely stay here again!
4.1
The hotel is outdated and badly needs renovations. It has a smell that is undoubtedly from the old carpet that needs to be replaced or at least deeply cleaned. Calling for anything from housekeeping is a hassle; takes them hours to get anything to you. Washcloths very scarce and they seem like they don’t want to issue them out. Housekeeping doesn’t speak or understand English; had to use pictures to show them what I was asking for. The front desk customer service was excellent.

We had a mouse!

It was an amazing time. I would definitely recommend it and make sure to ask for their cookies!

Loved the room. Very noisy being in center city. Sirens and motorcycles all night. If you’re a light sleeper, that could be a problem for you. Otherwise, very clean room, very good service.

Perfect location. Rooms were large and well priced.

There were numerous unsheltered people loitering around the hotel. There is an area with exterior stairs that go down to a lower level of the hotel, there was an unsheltered person half naked yelling at passerby, and it smelled like urine and human waste. There was a lot of noise from people screaming on the streets and people on ATV and dirt bikes driving up and down in front of the hotel and the police just watching not doing anything. This went on into the early hours.
There was a staff member that hunted my family down into the elevator and stuck his hand into the elevator and it scared us. He was very stern and lacked any customer service etiquette when addressing my family and I about our two registered dogs that traveled with us. He demanded our hotel room number and I advised that our dogs were registered to the room.
Overall my experience of Philadelphia is not great, the city is really dirty, garbage everywhere, the areas to access the subway smelled terrible of urine and human feces. There was vomit and human feces smeared on several buildings. There were some excellent restaurants and really cool historic and modern architecture but if you are planning to travel with young kids and dogs, I would recommend going somewhere cleaner and safer.
