The gal who checked us in was very friendly. Our room had an odd odor and was semi-clean. The morning staff was not as friendly- especially whomever was in charge of the very limited and lacking breakfast. It was also pretty obvious they weren't a fan of kids.

Staff was great. The only downside was the outdoor pool was freezing.

Good stay. I was satisfied with the room and location. Front desk friendly. I was called while on the road to the location whether I am still staying at the hotel. My room was held for me. Front desk person informative of area events. I asked for extra coffee packs and trash bags which were given to me. Parking is a challenge but managable.

I likes the easy parking, breakfast was great, staff were helpful, and central location to a lot of destinations.

Nice property very clean spacious rooms. The shower had great pressure and the staff were very kind. Breakfast was great as well.

It's pretty good

Our stay was enjoyable. The room was nice and comfortable. We had originally booked a regular king room but when we arrived we were told that something was wrong with it so they moved us to a suite with double beds. That was fine as they didn’t charge us extra and were super nice about the situation. The only thing wrong with the room is the floors really needed to be cleaned better. Your feet would turn black if you walked around without shoes/ socks on. Parking is also limited it seems, with an awkward parking lot in the back that’s hard to maneuver in and has limited capacity. If you’re staying upstairs be aware that the steps are unusually steep as well. My only real complaint is the floors and the extra $3 a night fee you have to pay once you arrive. That should be included in your booking. Overall the stay was enjoyable and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely stay again.

Had a good stay, only wish we could get into the lobby before 6am so I could work somewhere on my computer without waking up family when I wake up very early.

The staff was amazing and friendly. Room was clean, the only negative experience was that when I turned the heater on it started smelling like burned hair, must have been an animal or something in it, so I slept with the windows open so the smell would go away.

Initially the hotel looked sketchy but when I got to my room it was quiet nice. Very comfy beds and staff was nice. Parking can be a problem if you check in late.

It’s a decent “one night stay” motel. Convenient to dining options. Not much green space if you travel with a pet, but doable. Breakfast was nice and staff was friendly.

This is a older hotel however the room was clean and the staff was friendly. A little overpriced. The only complaint I have is the pool was really dirty. The water was so foggy you could not see the bottom of the pool.

I feel that the rating system failed me this time. I believe that many of the Quality Hotels have been sold to individual entrepreneurs and it’s because the structures were failing.

This has been the worst customer service experience I have had in over 20 years of traveling. I booked the two-night stay so my boyfriend would arrive at the hotel on the evening of June 28th, 2024. He is a resident of Ruidoso and had been dealing with the recent fires, followed by flooding, then having the water shut off in the city because it had become unsafe due to the ash on the ground. He is a first responder who was also recovering from an injury. I wanted him to have a space to shower and rest before I arrived on the morning of the 29th. Unfortunately, because of heavy rains and flooding the roads out of Ruidoso were closed and he was unable to get to Alamogordo the evening of the 28th, despite all efforts. He arrived at the hotel at 7am on the 29th as it was the earliest he could due to road closures. When he tried to check in, he was told we were marked as a no-show and the night clerk canceled our reservation, yet followed through with the charges. My boyfriend inquired how we could be a no-show if we paid for the room in advance for 2 nights, and we were checking in before check out time of our first day. The manager, Edgar, was also unhelpful and completely apathetic. He said that we needed to cancel 24 hours in advance, I explained that I had no intention of canceling. We were simply a late check-in because of a natural disaster. There was no policy for a late check-in and it depended on what time their books from the previous day were closed out.

The one thing I did not like was the rooms all have a direct access to parking, in other words, the rooms are all outside rooms. When I made the reservations, my hope was everything was inside the building; my fault, just didn't pay attention to where the rooms were. The staff was great; breakfast was hot and lots of food available, with choices and the person responsible for the food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable, lots of hot water, would have been nice to have a grab bar in the shower, for us old guys. Bed was OK; probably needs to be updated, wi-fi was good and the TV had more channels than you could shake a stick at!

Service was excellent. Nice breakfast. Room was very clean and comfortable. Good location.

Why do you ask about the property? This place maybe newly renovated but it did not meet expectations as far as the room and the current beds that are currently in place. The bed was so hard that I could not get comfortable to go to sleep. Also if I had known that there was no elevators and that all entrances were outside I would have never booked a room at this hotel. I asked if they could get me a room on ground level and they had no rooms available to accommodate my husband because he has breathing issues. The Front Desk was not very friendly with reception or checking out of the hotel. The reviews on your website are very deceiving.

Clean! Friendly staff! Room was SO much bigger than I thought it would be. Parking lot felt safe and well lit. Room had the AC blasting when we arrived. Breakfast was awesome.., even had Nutella! What a great place for this price!

Hidden fees Crappy breakfast

I was surprised at this hotel, it has everything I need. It has microwave which most of big hotels doesn't have. A fridge, iron/ironing board and hairdryer. It has hot breakfast too. I will recommend this if you're staying at Whitesands, NM
