Not the best. Budget hotel. Ideal for young couples. Neighbourhood was not nice as situated in like a very poor area

Simple Hotel, affordable, comfortable , perfect and closer to the bus station who will take you to Riga Center .

The staff was very friendly, hotel is comfortable and clean.

Upon arrival, the male receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and cosy; the shower room and toilet were clean too. Our buffet breakfast each day was good - choices: cereal, yogurt, croissants, cheese/cooked meats/toast/ assorted jams/orange juice/tea/coffees. The breakfast room staff were very friendly and helpful and would make you an omelette if you asked them. We stayed at The Dodo Hotel as the reviews were good. The nearest tram stop to the hotel is about 10/15 yards away from the hotel entrance. It was so easy to get a tram into/back from the city centre. We did walk to the city centre a few times but it takes about 20 minutes. It only costs just over 1 Euro for a single tram ticket which you can buy from any of the Harveson shops. The Maxima supermarket (about 25 yards from the hotel entrance) was great for any snacks/sweets/beer we wanted. We would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

It was a short distance from the tram stop, a few stops from the bus station. A bit of a confusing check in experience, I was on the ground floor but was told the room was on the first floor. After that everything was good, comfortable room, not too hot, even though I closed the window as it was next to the road.

Location was a short tram ride out the centre, the staff were extremely helpful however the room was so hot we didn’t get much sleep one night, we understood as the winters can get so cold but it was unbearable!

Unconfortable hotel

Hotel staff was polite and kind. They gave us a fan, because there wasn't A/C in the hotel. On the first two mornings a staff member asked, if we would lile to have omelettes. However, service level varied depending on the staff member and other members didn't ask this. Over all breakfast was quite modest: coffee, water, toast, cheese, ham, liquid yoghurt and muesli. The room was a little bit worn and unclean-like. Our toilet/shower room had strange smell before using shower. Beds were fine and things worked out otherwise good. I think the hotel fits for over night stay or small-budget short holidays.

Very friendly, helpful staff. No phones in rooms. No air conditioning ub rooms. No complementary tea or coffee in rooms. Too few English-language TV channels.

You get here by getting the no. 22 bus from the airport to the city centre then get tram no. 7. Hotel looks modern but the surrounding area is the opposite. Desk is 24 hrs which helps if you arrive near to midnight like I did. Staff were very friendly, I did not get any hint of any frustration from the staff when requiring any help. Close to city centre. Only complaint was that the bathroom and especially the shower were tiny.

After slow checking we entered the room, it was like hot Sauna, no air conditioner. So, we asked our money back, what was impossible, due low qualified receptionist, manager will arrive just next day. Only way was walk a way and take other hotel.

The check in staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were fine and seemed clean enough. The walls did seem very thin; you could hear everything that went on in the surrounding rooms including steps, voices and toilet flush etc. The location is bad; over half an hours walk into the centre of Riga and nothing to do or see in the nearby neighbourhood. All in all good value for money and decent dor a low cost hotel.

Dodo hotel is very good for many reasons: exellent location (couple of minutes to old town by tram which goes about 30 metres away), clean and nice hotel with good breakfast and in my case own bathroom for about 35 euros. The neighborhood is a bit sad with its habitants that were in many case alcoholics but nice and friendly..

I have stayed here quite a few times, one of the best budget hotels.

Breakfast could be better, but price was little bit high that breakfast in finnish people. But lucky there was a coffee machine in reception. Hotel 4/5 Hotel crew 4/5 Breakfast 2,5-3/5

Stayed there with a group of students and another teacher. Our booking had to be changed a little by the hotel but the people in the reception were helpful in all ways. The location is rather good, about 25 minutes from old town Riga. All of us slept quite good and the breakfast was ok...not a lot to choose from but fine. The price was the best thing...more than well worth the money

Breakfast experience was awful with us needing to ask a security staff to get us a cup to be able to get some coffee, is never food as all plates empty with mould bread served or no bread. Staff unhelpful and ingnoring your issue. Never again at this hotel.
