Beautiful resort

A/C in the Room wasn’t working properly. We called service and they was suposed to send the tech but they didn’t

A little slice of paradise. The staff were amazing. It was nice to have staff that could also speak English as we know very little Spanish. The grounds were immaculate. The room was spacious, comfortable, and luxurious. The staff was also most accommodating when I accidentally left some personal belongings in our room after checking out in going back to the room and retrieving them for me, including the jewellery that I didn’t even realize I had left behind. There was a wide variety of restaurants to choose from on-site and a variety of pool options, as well as areas on the beach. A most beautiful complex.

We noticed deterioration to pool areas. Beach club is long ways for seniors to get there. Beach area is steep to waters edge ....older people can forget accessing it. The bed was not that good for a 4 star Marriott property. As a previous platinum member I expected better. The shower head needs updating. One last thing the room serviceprinted menu steak price was out of date; it showed $22 yet each yet we were billed $32. When I brought it up to front desk upon check out I was told a manager would have to be summoned who they couldn't seem to find. We had to leave so it never got resolved. We thought performance would be better from a resort advertised elitely.

The beach is full of rocks.

While a very pretty resort with a friendly enough staff, the service and dining options were seriously lacking for a resort in the Autograph Collection. Non-meat eaters in our party had very limited options (pasta or mediocre pizza for the most part) with dining. While I appreciate this is a Central American country, if there are a significant number of Americans and Canadians on property, it would help to have menus offered in English as well. We were grateful our kids’ take Spanish in school and were our translators for the trip. Service was hit or miss. Waiting an hour plus for room service or for a response from staff was not a one-time event. Booking water sports was a challenge as no one in the office spoke English (thanks again to our kids and a couple of very kind staff members) and more than once they did not show up on time—even over an hour late—despite confirmations of day and time the morning of. Still, the resort is clean. The rooms are lovely. The views are beautiful. The water is relatively calm and the beach is spectacular with its black sand. The water sports were great fun. And the value was high. If they are hoping to attract more US and Canadian tourism, which many said they are, there are some kinks to be worked out which could be easily done if the time is taken. Overall, it was a positive experience just don’t know if we would go back given the multitude of other options.

The property is very remote with a beautiful beach and oceanfront lounge chairs. This was a perfect place to get away from the city. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and kind! Although when you are there you have to eat at their restaurants if you don’t have a car, as there isn’t a town with restaurants nearby. Thankfully their food is good at the resort, so that was fine! Our favorite meal was at el Faro. There is an omelette station every day for breakfast and breakfast was included in the rate. There is a store on the property with groceries, wine and beer, coffee etc. The rooms are nice, but could use some paint/updates. The gym is fine but if you ride Peloton, there isn’t a good bike to use which wasn’t ideal. Overall it was a great escape.

Great Facility, food, service all exceeded expectations. Stayed 3 nights mid-week in October, very few other guests. Weather was almost perfect. Loved the general area.

Hotel is located in a large resort community, access to beach, multiple swimming areas, golf courts, bike paths, sports club. Good services offered around hotel and in central square (spa, exercise area, restaurants, deli market). Guest rooms were clean with nice design, good finishings and balcony area for views.

The employees in all areas of the hotel (reception, restaurants, pools, beach, cleaning staff, drivers) are very nice and make sure that you feel comfortable and happy in their premises. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had a beautiful time during our stay. This is a place to go back.

Love the rooms. Great beds and very comfortable. Rooms modern, large and clean. Staff was excellent in every way.

We stayed at the Buenaventura for five nights and it was spectacular. Property: The hotel and property at Buenaventura is beautiful and very well taken care of. The plants and gardens are cared for daily. The hotel lobby and hotel itself are stunning. As we went in the rainy season (and not high season) they were doing some very minor upkeep projects around the hotel, and in no way did that interfere or affect our stay in any way. Pool Areas: The pool areas were absolutely magnificent, and again, very well taken care of. There are two, the first is right outside the hotel, and the second is about a quarter mile behind the hotel, right in front of the beach access. Every morning we took a walk of the property and every single morning without fail there were multiple employees tending to, cleaning, and maintaining the expansive pools. Food/Restaurants: We ate all of our meals right at Buenaventura in the multiple restaurants on property. The food was great - there was not one thing we had that we did not love. There is a deli and small grocery store in the square right across from the hotel lobby. They have a great selection of pantry essentials if you are staying in a villa with a kitchen. The Japanese Restaurant on premises is very good. They have a very convenient online booking system for booking dinner reservations at all of the restaurants.

En general muy bien, aunque creo que necesita un poco de mantenimiento. La mini-refri del cuarto no estaba limpia, pero por lo demás muy bien.

Awesome place

The best option at the playa blanca / Buenaventura area, hands down. Well located, and maintained premises. We did not have a pleasant stay however, due to a nearby guest with an unruly dog which kept barking in the early morning hours, disturbing our rest. The staff needs to do a better job clustering together guests with pets, if they are allowing them. Seems improvised and affects other guests experience. Dont get me wrong, I like dogs, but a careless frontdesk and inconsiderate guest makes a bad combo
