Lovely room with good amenities

We decided on the Red Lion due to its central point with regard to the Spalding Tulip festival and were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the room and the friendliness of the staff especially the landlady who was lovely. The food served was excellent and value for money. Even though it was a busy weekend and the pub was heaving we were not disturbed by noise which we fully expected to be. Due to the festival food was not served on the Saturday night but due to the proximity to other good restaurants this was not an issue.

A very friendly and lively establishment! I stayed on Friday and Saturday night and the bar was always busy, which is a good sign as far as I'm concerned. The room was fine and the bed comfortable. The hotel is in Spalding market place, so couldn't be more convenient for shops, amenities and generally exploring.

Very very basic plus had special health request which was blatantly ignored

Friendly staff and extremely helpful. You get what you pay for. It is a simple place located in the heart of Spalding. You have access to anything you need.

Our full English breakfast was cooked to order and very tasty! Their carpark was a little difficult to find but it's just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and was very convenient. We also enjoyed a drink in the hotel's bar and all of the staff were very welcoming.

Interesting hotel, good price. Staff friendly. Room was slightly dated but OK. Wool blanket under the sheet, no thanks I have my own body heat. Breakfast fine. Would use again if in the area. Good curry in the Indian in the same building.

Older hotel in town center. Updated bathroom. Comfortable room. Good value.

Pleasant staff and great location but hotel is in need of decoration. Rooms nothing special but adequate for needs.

The hotel was a typical english country pub , warm weclome and very friendly people .The room was basic but was comfortable and clean with tea and coffee available in the room . I had a curry in the restaurant which i would put in the top ten i have eaten . The one thing i noticed on a plaque on the wall outside was that Jimmy Hendrix and other performers from the sixties had stayed there may 29 1967

I didnt know where the hotels car park was, in fact it has 8 spaces in a c/p somewhere but I still dont know where that is.Staff were friendly but the room was drab and shabby, not in a chic way. It could do with redecoration. The hotel has a Goan/ Indian restaurant and there was a lingering curry smell.

Stayed for two nights, April 2017. Friendly staff made us very welcome, room was very clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast and friendly locals in the bar.

Fantastic, we enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion immensely. The room was very clean & comfortable but homey at the same time. Staff were terrific. The whole experience couldnt have been better. WE WILL BE BACK.

The hotel is old and a favourite of many locals. No lift or air conditioning, the water pressure on the second floor was sad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. 10 minute walk to the train and bus station. Close to many great restaurants, including Indian one attached - Spice affair.Fun for a couple of days. Best with carry-on luggage :)
