Excellent location wonderful staff Value for money

We booked last minute through the Expedia app. The staff were extremely accommodating when we notified then of our late arrival and made arrangements for access after reception had closed. When we arrived the heating was on, which was great because it got to - 3°C that night. In the morning we discovered it was only a dozen steps down to the beach from our patio. And of course great that the place is pet friendly!

We had a really great stay. The owner showed us how to use the controls etc. The heating was on when we arrived which was amazing! Really quiet and beds were comfy. Super clean and smelled so good

Warm welcome on a cold winters day 😊 Perhaps a little dated, but well kept and presented. Very comfortable bed for a great sleep.

We had a 1 night stay in Taupo at the Cascades and thought it was great. Especially good if you are travelling with a pet dog ...

We were put in the unexpected poor designed room compared to the money we paid for, which is right at the end next to the spa pool with noise all the time. Also noise came from upstairs rooms during the night due to poor building structure that caused our interrupted sleep. A stupid thing is the bed is right next to the bathroom toilet door which made us feel uncomfortable and contaminated!! Definitely we will never come back again!

It was dog friendly and close to the lake walkways

We liked the small, quiet, convenienc of Cascades. Service was professional. Love that we can bring our pet..(though we did not bring our dog) but met another couple that had their dog. We would stay at Cascades again.

New property, nice, clean, safe

The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was spacious and spotless. Location was excellent. One small nice touch was the little container of fresh milk offered for our hot drinks. Able to have a dip in the lake a few yards away Very good value and would definitely stay there again

Great property. Great location

Beautiful location on the southern side of the lake. The lake walkway is on the edge of the oroperty with two easy access routes. Room was large and clean. Staff was very nice. I definitely recommend this property.

Great location right beside the lake, with immediate access to lakeside walking path

Stayed here for one night. Staff very friendly and helpful and location is great. It is right on the water and easy to get to. Unfortunately our room was not very clean with the ceiling fan holding about an inch of dust on each arm and most surfaces were very dusty and grimy as well. There were a few insects inside including some white tip spiders. The interior is very dated with decor probably older than myself including the bed which was very hard and uncomfortable. Again for location and access to the water this place is good but will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Good location

This was a great motel to stay with our small dog as they have a few pet friendly units. The owners are so helpful and friendly and the units cleaned to a high standard. The units are a little older. They upgraded us to have a small courtyard which we appreciated as we were able to keep our bikes secure there. They are situated on the lakeside at 2 mile bay right beside the bike and walking trail. We found this to be an ideal location. The sailing club is 5 minutes walk away and a great place to get a drink and pizza. They are also dog friendly. We'd definitely highly recommend the Cascades Lakefront motels

Quick one night stay but would definitely go back.

Close to the lake but views from room mostly obstructed. Furniture starting to show its age though all was nice and clean. Ten minutes drive to restaurants.

Nice stay

Cascades was the perfect lakefront stay - we had such a beautiful suite that they were kind enough to upgrade us to overlooking the lake. Absolutely stunning views and friendly staff to make it that much more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Great location, friendly staff and accomodating. The Motel is clean and tidy, but in need of a refresh which is being done gradually. So looking forward to moving from the 1990's to a more contemporary style. Understand some of the family units have been refurbished and are popular.
