We very much enjoyed our stay at the Carlton Hotel. It is on the tram and a five minute walk from the train station. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ghent!

Great location in a very walkable city. Service was excelling. The hotel had an old school vibe, but the rooms were spacious, clean, and overlooking a beautiful, leafy neighborhood.

Hotel Carlton was a perfect place to stay in Ghent. It was a couple of minutes walk to the train station and about 25 minutes walk to the historic centre.
The room was spacious and had a kettle and coffee machine. Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent base close to Sint Pieters station. Very helpful staff throughout our 3 night stay. Good sizable and comfortable room with minibar and aircon. Chargeable breakfast is very good with cooked to order options.

Their breakfast is amazing!! All kinds of bread are delicious. Freash squeezed orange juice tastes good, obviously. They cook eggs as you like. I highly recommend u also try their breakfast!

The Carlton is an excellent place to stay in Ghent, just minutes from Citadel Park, the train station and other attractions. The breakfast was delicious and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We were even treated to fresh flowers in our room!

The hotel was clean, roomy & very nice. Very convenient for walking to train station & tram, just a few hundred feet or 1/4 mile? Quiet, safe area though the trade off is you’re 1.5 mi or so from the town center.

It’s a nice, clean and modern hotel with kind and helpful stuff. Loved that they had an electric kettle and coffee-maker in the room.
It’s just a stone’s throw away from the Ghent-St. Peter’s train stop, which get you to/ from Brussels.
Only downside is it’s about a 35-minute walk (albeit a scenic riverside stroll) from the medieval center of Gent, where all the biggest attractions are. I didn’t mind the walk back after eating too much frites, beer and waffles.

We loved this hotel located on a quiet street very close to the central train station. The room was spacious with beautiful, warm lighting and a small refrigerator and a fine and clean bathroom. The staff were uniformly excellent; welcoming and friendly and helpful. Of special note, Virginie, of the front desk staff, was exceptional- warm and exceedingly helpful with directions and recommendations; truly appreciated and enjoyed. Thank you to all for a wonderful stay!

Very friendly staff in a clean, quiet hotel a couple minutes walk from the train station in Ghent, nice bakeries and markets nearby if you want to get your own breakfast, easy tram ride to historic center. Nothing special about the room but it served our needs perfectly.

A very fine, little hotel in close proximity to the central railway station, Gent Sint-Pieters. Formidable breakfast with a la carte warm menu, fresh pastries and damn good coffee, very spacious and modern decor room with high quality bed and plenty of power for your devices, and the best of service from all staff - and the owner himself. Indoor garage with charging for EV-cars soon to be installed.
A true recommendation - I will be back!

It was a cosy hotel set on a lovely street, so convenient for the train station St Pieters.

The property is a small intimate hotel. The reception staff is outstanding and provides top concierge services. I needed help getting handicapped service on the trains and the evening shift did a great job. They had lots of suggestions and, of course, plenty of directions.
The breakfast is outstanding and uses mostly Ghent ingredients.

From the moment I walked in the front door. I’ve had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff here. Shauni, Manon and Virginie our wonderful hostesses! So helpful, kind, enthusiastic, and just all-around great ladies! They instantly made me feel like I was their number one priority. Highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness and location.

Nice place. Enjoyed it. Very close to Train station, but at very quiet residential street. Staff polite and helpful. Rooms are large, plenty of outlets. Internet speed good. Nice touch - they are giving daily bottled water at glass bottles (NOT plastic!) along with squares of Belgian chocolate. Mini fridge on the room. All in All had VERY NICE relaxing stay and RECC that place With NO RESERVATIONS / NO “IF” and “BUT”…

Breakfast buffet was excellent with cooked to order eggs and other items. Location was very close to train station for direct travel to Brussels airport. The tram from the train station to city center was easy to use for sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel to travelers visiting Ghent.

Gent was our favorite city in Belgium. We stayed at this hotel for three nights. The king hotel room we booked was the largest room we had during our trip. This hotel is conveniently located, as it is less than a 5 min walk from Gent-Sint-Pieters train station. Very close to Citadel park, which was nice for a morning stroll. The breakfast at the hotel was the best breakfast during our trip, with a wide variety of food. We will most definitely be back.

Very convenient location next to all transport options easy to catch a train, tram, or walk to anywhere you need. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff and kind. This is an older hotel but in good shape with some modern touches and the lift worked well. Good value for the Euro in my opinion. Breakfast onsite was very nice and had lots of options but there's also lots of great options nearby to explore. The room at the top 602 has a balcony which is nice to sit and enjoy the sunset and put feet up after a long day of sight seeing.

The only thing I could mention is not to limit the choice of tea and coffee in the room to only fruity flavours and decaf. Room was clean and fresh. The hotel is really close to the trainstation.
