Personally, this experience was one of the best suite experiences in Sri Lanka. Friendly staff were guided us to find the hotel in first and, room was clean and tidy and foods were delicious.

It is a tragedy that more people cannot experience this great hotel because of the pandemic. Excellent staff and the best food in Sri Lanka.We will definitely be back.

Where to start. Nick Buckingham is a legend - and his hotel team is first rate. The food... oh the food - truly brilliant. Don’t leave this place without at least having ordered tuna for your supper. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a wow factor, the oceanfront pool is superb and the whole experience is fantastic. Well done Nick Buckingham - you’ve created a mini paradise. All very relaxed for the guest with lovely staff & beautiful surroundings

This hotel is truly a hidden gem. The serenity you feel when you're here is out of this world and every little detail is thought through. My fiance and I stayed here for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer because it was the first time in our trip when we felt we could stop planning the details of the day and just relax. Nick, the owner, greets every guest and asks several times how their stay is. He makes sure you know that everything could be customized to your liking and there is no pressure to conform to any sort of "norms", starting from the time you want to eat breakfast to where you want your meals to what is actually in the meal itself. And by the way, the meals are all a la carte and not buffet-style because they are all made from fresh, local ingredients (the dinner options rotate as well to keep it fresh and interesting). We planned to do at least one day trip, but ended up not leaving the hotel at all during our stay because it was just so perfect. The only downside is that you cannot swim in the stretch of beach directly in front of the hotel, but we liked the pool better anyway and just went for walks on the beach instead. The staff is so friendly and make you feel like family. Even if you don't like something you ordered, you can send it back with no problem and they will be kind and apologetic about it instead of treating you like a problem (which I've experienced at other places). 11/10.

Sparkling clean, great temperature, large, beautiful - with a bar section too!3) The staff - they make you feel part of their family. On Xmas morning, a knock on the door with breakfast in bed and a HUGE bag full of presents and Sri Lankan souvenirs - where else would this happen?!This wasnt just a hotel, it was a memorable experience we will cherish!

The service at this hotel is unmatched. Absolutely amazing location. And the food was delicious!

One of best hotels we've stayed in. Food certainly up there with best we have ever had. Staff really attentive, yet not in your face or stuffy in any way. Just a great experience staying here.

Loved the “chilled” vibe. Breakfast can be eaten any time of the day, is freshly prepared and you can eat as much as you like! The food was unusual and delicious. All staff were friendly and polite. Very relaxing few days.

Amazing place and staff

Buckingham Place is one mans dream and he has succeeded in creating a wonderful hotel. It’s a secluded very quiet location, next to a beautiful empty beach. It’s spacious with the rooms spread out and the main restaurant and infinity pool overlooking the beach. The owner Nick is charming, all the staff incredibly attentive. Food was wonderful. Half of the guests were returning guests who just really love the place. We totally understand why.

My father and brother and I had a wonderful stay at Buckingham Place. We especially enjoyed the beautiful grounds and architecture that the owner, Nick, has put together amidst the wilderness surrounding the hotel. The food and service are excellent as you would expect. Do take the opportunity to meet Nick as he is a lot of fun and great company. I would highly recommend a stay of a couple of nights to soak in the atmosphere.

I could wax lyrical for hours on this place. But for brevity, this place is absolutely exquisite. Everything has been thought of, and the staff are phenomenally welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re looking for a long break, or a beautiful place to spend a few days after touring the country, as we were, just book it. You will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately, I rarely leave reviews unless a place hit the top or bottom of the spectrum (shame on me, I know). Where to begin with Buckingham Place? From the moment you arrive, you know this will be a special place. The staff is quick to learn your name, your preferences and the personalization sets this place apart even from other botique properties we've stayed in. The owner, Nick, is fantastic- quick to offer a recommendation whether it is a place to visit, help with transportation or which of the wonderful items to enjoy from the menu. He truly embodies the spirit of a proud owner. The property itself is breathtaking. The space has been designed (again by Nick) to let you truly enjoy the magic of the grounds. No matter where you sit, there is a majestic view and the sounds of the beach. The rooms and spacious and feel homelike and the beach is unlike any we've seen in all our travels. Without a doubt, Buckingham Place is within the top three properties out of hundreds, if not thousands, we've stayed in. There is an unparalleled level of service and quality that would be nearly impossible to replicate. When we come to Sri Lanka again, there's no doubt we will be repeat guests at Buckingham Place.
