Fantastic breakfast, service and location right by Platypus Walk.
A great place to stay but our rooms was hot and small with thin walls so we heard snoring from next door all night.

The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom had obviously not been used (or cleaned) for a while - resident daddy long-legs spiders and webs present, some dust under the claw-footed bath and quite a dust collection under the bed.
However, the towels were changed after our first night and bed made up (unsure whether sheets were changed or not).
Cooked breakfast was set but good - poached eggs, toast, mushrooms, tomato, bacon. Home-made stewed fruits were delicious - rhubarb or apple and blackberry. Small/basic selection of cereals - weet-bix, cornflakes + 1 other (just right?).

Cambridge House is a lovely heritage property set in beautiful grounds which go right down to the Kermandie River. If your lucky, like us, you’ll catch a glimpse of the resident platypus. Our room, The Giffen, was spacious, immaculate & spotless. The bed was very comfortable & we slept soundly in this peaceful haven. It is handy to the shops & great restaurants in Geeveston. I recommend ‘The Bank’.Karen & Glen we’re welcoming hosts & the breakfast was hearty & delicious. We look forward to returning to stay here again & highly recommend it as a comfortable stopover.

The managers were engaging and breakfast was just great
The stairs to your room were a little steep, especially with a big bag and the acoustics between downstairs and upstairs not so good but overall a great place to stay

Don't get me wrong this was a lovely chance to rest and relax. But the accommodation is a bit tired. Our bathroom was across the hall & wasn't convenient, especially at 3am! Also very small. The furnishings are traditional with the heritage theme, but could use some updating. As with most B&B's it was a bit noisy, you can hear the other people. Glen & Karen cooked a beautiful hot breakfast! Karen was very friendly and helpful too. There is a creek close by with is a lovely walking track. Yes we would stay here again, but ask for a different room next time. One with a bit more space. Pretty cottage, pretty garden.

My friend, with whom I shared a room, and myself highly recommend staying at Cambridge House. I stayed there a couple of years ago so knew I would not be disappointed. Karen and Glen are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and set you up for the day. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean and well laid out. If you are planning on visiting the beautiful Huon Valley this is the home in which to stay and don't forget to check out the platypus playing in the stream which runs alongside their property.

Traditional old Tasmanian house in large gardens. Nicely furnished room with large shower room. Great cooked breakfasts and a very helpful host. Difficult to improve on I would think.

This was my first experience in a B&B and I was impressed. The home is gorgeous and the garden is beautiful. We loved seeing the platypus in the river at the bottom of their garden. The owners were warm and friendly. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Breakfast was scrumptious with cereal, toast, jams, and a selection of hot food cooked to order. Our room was comfortable and had a heater and pedestal fan but no airconditioner. We had a fridge and kettle with plenty of teabags and coffee. The bed was lovely with clean crisp sheets and we had a brilliant sleep. The ensuite was great with luxurious Sheridan towels. The shower was excellent with lots of hot water. The location is fantastic and walking distance to the park and platypus river and we also walked to a Turkish restaurant for a nice dinner. The Internet was quite good. We would love to stay here again.

150 year old establishment with period features. Great breakfast and very comfortable room & bed. Karen was extremely helpful. Platypus in river at bottom of garden a real bonus. Geeveston is a great place to stay close to Hobart, Bruny Island & Tahune Airwalk. Would recommend both to anyone.

Great historic place to stay right in the heart of Geeveston, excellent breakfasts, short work to the main street, quiet and only a short drive from all the Huon attractions.

Karen (the host) is super nice. She was patience to wait for our coming even though we arrived late. She prepared a very yummy breakfast and the overall feeling is fantastic.

Very relaxing stay. Claw foot bath, comfy bed and delicious hot breakfast. Platypus viewing was a real bonus. So close to Airwalk and Hastings Caves. The sushi in town was incredible and the restaurant in Dover was top notch. We will be back!

Cambridge House was beautiful. Such a wonderfully relaxing spot to unwind after a very busy day of sightseeing and walking. We loved the quaint bed room, beautiful gardens (with a platypus in the propertys stream) and friendly hospitality. We felt at ease at all times during our stay. We particularly enjoyed the home-cooked breakfast and stewed rhubarb, which was grown on site. Perfection!

We were told just before check in that our booking, taken abut 3 days previous, was cancelled because room was double booked, but we had been booked into a cheaper motel. The motel was ok for the price but was not the standard we were looking for, and did not include breakfast. Even though the CH advert clearly states breakfast cooked to order daily, the owner told me breakfast was not included when I asked if the motel included breakfast. Clearly this was a lie.
I understand, bookings are regularly cancelled by CH and rebooked at the motel. I suggest people look elsewhere if they want certainty that booking will be honoured. Cant comment on the general standards of the place other than that so have generously given them 3 out of 5.

Nice accomodation, the room was cosy and the heater was good . We found the bed a little too firm and would have liked extra pillows.. The breakfast was great.

Stayed with my family on holiday to Tassie. The room was lovely and the house clean. The breakfast was the best we had anywhere in Tasmania. Would thoroughly recommend it!

My partner, myself and his two children had booked into the B & B on 7/1/14. One of his son's became extremely ill with asthma and we had to cut our holiday short and returned home to see his doctor. We phoned to explain what had happed and were told that we would still have to pay the full amount. My partner disputed this as we though it was unfair given the situation and then we were told "very well I hope you son is better soon, good bye". I was surprised to check my credit card statement to find that the full amount of the accommodation had been debited on 8/1/14. I have lodged a dispute with my credit card supplier and am extremely worried that I put my credit card details in the hands of an untrustworthy person.

We were given a friendly welcome by Glen who showed us to our room and then through the other areas of the house which we had access to as well as finding out what time we would like breakfast. Cambridge House is only a 2 minute walk from the centre of the small town of geeveston. It is a Victorian Heritage house and the look is kept in the bedroom and bathroom but still with all modern cons.We stayed in Geeves Room which is quite large. It has a queen bed as well as a large single bed, both very comfortable. It also has 2 armchairs facing a flat screen TV-DVD. It has tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge with fresh milk in a jug, all hidden in a period cabinet. The room had extra pillows and blankets and individual room heating. There are a lot of trinkets and travel memorabelia in the public rooms which are very interesting as well as magazines, book and DVDs to borrow.. Everything was very clean on arrival but the bathroom was not cleaned each day. Shampoo, hand wash, body wash and shower caps were provided in the bathroom as well as tissues in both bathroom and bedroom. Towels were changed each day and included a face washer and hand towel. Breakfast was a traditional English breakfast with a variety of homemade compote of fruit and also homemade jams. Delicious! Soups, bread, dessert along with beer and wine is available of an evening if requested. We didn't have so cannot comment. The home has a lovely large rambling flower garden with some herbs and vegies.
