Really comfortable fresh rooms, nice location and service minded staff. Awesome wine and souvenir shop in the basement/ground level.

To much noise from the street and other guests doing the night at the terrace

While we enjoyed the location of this hotel, the person manning the desk was not very friendly. We arrived via train and walked our baggage to the hotel (15 min walk). I happened to check my email (at around 4:45 PM) while walking and I noticed that I received an email from the front desk wondering where we were & that their cut off time for check in was 5 PM. If we did not make it in by then we would have no way of checking in and getting into our room. I would have appreciated this information earlier to avoid that stress as it is highly unusual for a hotel or B & B to cut off check in at 5 PM. To make things worse, he seemed very annoyed with us and was not very friendly. As for the room, it was fine with he exception of the black out curtains. Lots of light streamed through our large window making it impossible to sleep off our jet lag.
Everything else was fine. The cleaning staff was great. I am hoping this review gets looked at by management because the person behind the desk (8/4/24) should not be in the hospitality business.

This hotel has a fantastic location in the center of Cochem and next to the Mosel river. All staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was varied and plentiful. A great choice for a stay in Cochem!

Nice hotel in the heart of Cochem. The terrace has a beautiful view overlooking the castle. Friendly staff and the breakfast was very good.

This hotel is great. So friendly and relaxed and efficient. Our room was newly renovated and clean.
It is positioned perfectly in Cochem. There’s a wine cellar underneath and you can take your wine to the hotel terrace.
The breakfast buffet is extremely well done.

Lovely hotel and better than expected. Very clean, nicely remodeled and tastefully decorated. Centrally located across from the Mosel and on the promenade. Staff is very helpful and breakfast was the best we had in our week long stay in Germany. Definitely recommend.

It’s a very nice property on the river front. Very, very clean! The room that we had was tiny, but OK in my opinion. It didn’t bother me but it bothered my husband. Because of the slanted ceiling, he couldn’t sit up in the bed and read (it was the top floor). Yep, that small. But, overall, I don’t think it matters too much unless it’s going to serve as a home base for somebody.
I would stay there again.

Love this town, one our favorites. Shopping is good. Weather not so great so things closed up early the first night, but down the block further and found several nice places open.

Friendly Staff , who went out of their way to help us with a late check in because of traffic delays.
Parking is a bit of a pain,- a popular (so often full) short stay (2hrs) right in front of the hotel, which makes arrival/check in/ unloading luggage a bit awkward. There is a multistory car park 3 minutes walk away, that is a cheaper place to leave the car when your there for a couple of nights. So overall not a real drawback for staying in a pleasant hotel in a good location.

Lovely hotel, very convenient for river cruises, shops, tour bus. The breakfast was a bit disappointing
Compared to other hotels in same price bracket, but other aspects made up for this.

The reception is inside of a cafe, which makes it highly inconvenient to get to with large luggage. Decent sized rooms, slightly outdated in the finishes. The breakfast was good and I can recommend to sit outside on the patio overlooking the river and vineyards. The best part about this hotel is the location in the heart of Mosel, Riesling country! Beautiful town with picturesque buildings!

This centrally located, well run hotel, is great not only for touring beautiful Cochem with Reichsburg Castle, but also Koblenz, Trier, Burg Eltz, Beilstein, and many other beautiful villages up and down the Mosel River. The hotel is close to the town square with it's own mid day bell song, lots of shopping down cobble stone lanes and bistros. The staff were courteous, accommodating, the hotel was clean, and the buffet style breakfast was incredible (included in the price of the room)! Germania also serves lunch and dinner.

In Germany expect small rooms, smaller bathrooms, an even smaller elevator (if one exists). This hotel is a better than average German hotel. It is in the best location in Cochem: right on the river, next to the bridge, in the old part of town where everything is happening. We happened to be there during their end of summer festival so there was a lot of noise (music and revelers) late into the night. Which was just fine with us but may not be acceptable to everyone. There is no air conditioning so you have to keep the windows open. Which most nights would not be a problem as German towns are typically very quiet at night.

This is an excellent hotel in an excellent location -- well situated for bars, cafes, and restaurants, a lovely walk along the Mosel, walking in the old part of town, and a very good view up to the castle. Breakfast is also good. Two negatives only: 1) its not at all obvious where you park to unload your suitcases, before taking your car several blocks away to park in the city parking garage (better directions sent by the hotel after one reserves could completely solve this) and 2) the hotel closes at 6 pm. Normally that wouldnt be an issue, but if you do need anybody after that, too bad. Our problem was that we were given a key to the night-door (as is everyone), but it didnt work. Fortunately another guest came along, about 10 minutes later, and we got in. Also, this is something else they should have warned of in advance -- we did not know, and its only lucky that we arrived before 6 pm. The hotel is not air-conditioned (they dont claim to be), but in 35 degree weather.... its good to know that in advance.

The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the train station and is right across the road from the river. It is situated above a small restaurant with a lovely terrace. Our room was very spacious. It had obviously been newly carpeted, which was nice, except for the smell of the new carpet. We were able to overcome that by opening both the windows in our corner room. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Our only disappointment was the discovery that the on site restaurant did not serve dinner and closed down each evening by 6:00 PM.

The charming little Hotel Germania is conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and a 15-20 minute walk to Reichsburg Cochem Castle. The hotel has its very own cafe. The room was decent size and clean. The bed for 2 was 2 singles pushed together so there was a space in the middle. The mattresses were comfortable. I would say its more of a 2 star hotel because of its dated somewhat mismatched furnishings, but that also gave the hotel some of its charm. In the morning there was a nice complimentary breakfast with cereal, croissants, meats, cheeses, yogurt, and a few other options.I would happily stay here again if we came back to Cochem. We loved how easy it was to get around the town, as well as the ease of getting to surrounding towns via the local train/tram.
