Stopped in Airlie for two nights. It the hostel was clean and tidy we had a shared bathroom and it was very clean showers we’re powerful to have a good shower. The only fault with this place was the pillows on the bed were super thin I might as well have not had a pillow it was so thin also if your in a shared facility the walls are very thin so you can hear a lot ear plugs are a must if staying here! Perfect for what we needed. They allowed you to use the luggage store to put your bags in before check in and check out. Apart from the thing pillow and walls perfect place to stay

Being from the local area I was pleasantly surprised by the property. Our queen ensuite room was comfortable and had all the basics. The shower might be a little small but more than adequate. The camp kitchen is well equipped. The accommodation is at the rear of a busy pub but we didn’t hear any noise from there. The gardens are just beautiful, so green and lush. Well done groundskeepers.
You walk out the front and you are right in the middle of Airlie beach, supermarket and bottle shop next door and restaurants galore. There is no hill to walk up which is very unusual for Airlie. I definitely recommend Magnums

Good location right in the town centre. Bar on site but not noisy for the rooms which is great. Good facilities, kitchen, laundry etc for use. Rooms with shared bathroom quite small but comfy

It was pretty barebones and worn-down rooms. It’s in a busy noisy street, luckily the dorms are a bit in the lee and clean inside. Shared bathrooms outside were dirty. Matrasses felt worn down and not comfy. Very affordable but I absolutely dreaded that location. For a short stay it’s doable, but I didn’t really get a good night of sleep.

Magnums is in a great location, right in the heart of Airlie Beach. It has a large bar and nightclub attached to it too. The shared shower and toilet facilities are also pleasant.
However, we woke up on our first morning with our bed covered in hundreds of ants, as well as a number of woodlice and small cockroaches in the room. Unfortunately, all of the rooms were fully booked so we could not change to a different room - reception did provide some bug spray, which killed most of the insects but there will still a few crawling around the following morning.
3 stars as the location and price were very good, but of course let down by the insects!

A great place for young people out for a good time

Really enjoyed our stay, it’s a well designed site with all the necessary facilities, and staff were friendly and helpful, especially when I wasn’t feeling well when we arrived! We had the private cabin with kitchenette and it was clean, comfortable and surprisingly very quiet given the bar on the side of the hostel. My only tiny suggestion for improvement would be to provide a laundry airer, to dry clothes which can’t go in the tumble dryers on site.

Magnum’s has great self contained cottages
Behind the backpackers accommodation.
It’s quiet and pretty, easy access to Woolworths.
Right in the middle of Airlie shopping centre, minutes from all the shops, cafes,transport and the lagoon.

Big property close by to anything. You can hear pretty much anything, too. You'll definitely need earplugs because the walls are as thin as paper.

Very noisy - both with the pub/nightclub next door and the thin walls - room next to the shared bathroom. Fridge made noise all night and froze everything in it. Bed was glorified bunk bed. I know it is a hostel, but room should have cost a lot less for what it was - for a single room (not a share room) - it is clearly all really cheaply built and kept, and for the fact that this is a tiny room with shared bathroom, no sink, one powerpoint that worked, one tiny window and really noisy. Was way too expensive - could have got a proper hotel room with a bathroom for the same price.

Great stay and the staff were fantastic, loved the location and really appreciated that my room was available early. Found the pub attached odd that the band play when the rugby is on then stop at half time but that was probably because I was there to watch the game.

I loved Magnums. We had a triple room with an en-suite and the space was great. The large double commercial kitchen downstairs was always busy but always with enough space to cook. It felt like a tropical resort with lush green trees everywhere.

Amazing value and deceptively quiet. I was concerned when I heard it was beside a local night club but I had nothing to worry about. I was in bed early every night and was never awoken

I really enjoyed this hostel for the location, and the staff were super friendly. I was able to leave my luggage while I went off to the islands which was helpful and I generally felt safe there too. The layout is pretty unique for a hostel and the added extras like having a fridge in the room was amazing. I would for sure stay here again whenever I’m back in Airlie.

The queen cabin with an ensuite was great. It was clean, comfortable and roomy. A/C was great, the fridge was so handy too.

Interesting to see a still operating backpacker resort upgrade some of its accommodation to very acceptable standard. Right in centre of Airlie Beach in a mini rain forest - town very buzzy - but still quiet at night for us.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The property feels a bit like a rainforest with all the trees and canopies. The mattress and the cabin in whole were a bit dated. We didn’t care for the shower (curtain) set up and the way the shower pan had been patched up.
The AC was super powerful and we also had a ceiling fan, which was great with all the humidity.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

The location is great and the setting is beautiful. Little noisy, little mould at bottom of walls and was raining heavily so wood and paths were quite slippery. Single room pretty good value though

Room was a stand alone cabin. Was relaxed n comfortable. Cool place to stay, right in the heart of Airlie Beach. Only bummer was the shower head needed fixing.

The cabin was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked well so the room was always cool, even with very hot temperatures outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. The shared bathroom was maintained well. There were a lot of bugs around all the time as cabins are surrounded by trees.
