heritage site, good feeling of the old property and its style and construction

Probably the best and nicest place to stay in the heart of historic Ipoh. Very clean, convenient (an easy walk from the train station) and quirky - lots of character - each room different configuration and decor in this converted historic building. Enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly too. We (as a couple) stayed in the smallest loft room which was small but perfect for us for a few nights. We left our reservation until late and it was the only room available over a weekend. The aircon was very effective (thankfully) as it was high temperatures and humidity during our stay even by local standards. Very clean and shower pressure great. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ipoh (based upon other options we looked into) from both a location and amenity perspectives.

Great heritage hotel. Nice interior deco. It would be better if the different kinds of tax to be charged can be described clearly when purchasing online.

Will only accept cash for payment. Would be nice if notified in advance. Air con dripped water onto bed in the middle of night, so have to turn it off and room became very hot. Too many stairs, not suitable for elderly. Steps are painted black, too hazardous if need to go to restroom at night as bathroom is downstairs. Want to charge additional $30 for a quieter room.

Stayed here before. Like it a lot hence my returns. Staff are ever so helpful. It's an old building which adds to its charm. Will return...... .

Sarang Paloh is a lovely and very convenient place to stay. The room was comfortable, spacious, and surprisingly quiet for being located on a major city street. The location in Ipoh old town, right next to Lim Coffee, was outstanding.

True to its name, it has a rustic feel since it’s known as a heritage stay. It’s got furniture and decor of the 1970s and has a laid back and relaxed feel. The hotel has a bird theme as its rooms are named after bird names - Swiflet Platinum, Blue Rumped Parrot etc. However, due to the road right in front of the hotel, the noise of the traffic can be quite loud, even in the middle of the night. But the hotel staff is nice enough to offer ear-plugs.

Great location, good room and cool building but air-conditioning was a heat pump that blew cold air over the bed and overall it's quite expensive for what it is. Fact they don't include breakfast for the price is below par for Malaysia.

Although we stayed here for only one night, it was certainly a memorable one. The staff were polite and friendly, the room was in wonderful condition and the location was excellent. A few plus points that stood out: 1. Nicely-decorated common areas and room. 2. Powerful aircon unit that cooled our high-ceiling loft nicely. 3. Very clean toilet with strong water flow (rain shower was splendid). Our stay here definitely exceeded all expectations and we look forward to coming back the next time to try out the other unique rooms.

Satisfactory overall except staircase to climb was a surprise. Excellent retrofit architectually.

Wifi signal wasn't great in our room and lightswitches could be in some odd places, but that is proce you pay for converting an unusual building. Really nice staff and parking in garage just across the road. Really nicley done hotel.
