The rooms on the first floor all smelled super bad, mildew, funky, nasty smell.

Homeless encampment at the front door. Garbage in the hallway. Children riding scooters in the hallway. Horrible smell. Noisy air conditioning unit. After checking in we decided to just go home.

We were going to orientation at CSU San Marcos and it was a 5 min driver to the campus. Very convenient. Also Outback steakhouse is next door and Spaghetti factory across the street which was great. Also the freeway is a block away so it makes travelling very easy.

Helpful staff. Very clean and modern hotel. Quiet and comfortable, we fell asleep as soon as we laid down the bed was SO comfy. Bathroom is very clean and nice with the walk in shower, had a nice scent to it also. Neighbourhood is safe and lots of restaurants around. Would definitely return or recommend

Hotels.com blotched the reservation - we were to have had 2 rooms and the Fairfield only received info for one. I had to pay for the 2nd room upon arriving as the Fairfield said they couldn't 'fix' the error with Hotels.com. They are YOUR partner and you s/not be making your guest pay 2x and seek refund. I'll not be using Marriott going forward

Would've been great if more choices for breakfast and room cleanliness. Food was ok and bare minimum, room was descent size but always smelled stuffy even with ac on and bed sheets and duvet covers were stained. Reception and breakfast area always smells stinky due to breakfast area is open. Was expecting better stays with the high prices.

Despite having youth soccer tournament teams there at the same time, we didn't hear them in their rooms! Toilets flushed quietly so not disturbed by the units above or next door. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Good breakfast offerings were available. They have a wonderful cleaning robot that also delivers extra towels or other requested items. The teens were even impressed! Only disappointment was the list of nearby restaurants didn't include the Outback Steakhouse right next door leading to doubts as to what else might be missing.

Hotel is average, upon arrival I was ignored waiting to check in,the room windows barely open and the whole place smells when you walk in because there is no ventilation. Not wonderful!!

It might’ve been my fault, but I thought I booked a suite not a room and I ended up in a room all in all, though I would stay there again. It was very pleasant. Love the breakfast free parking gym pool Jacuzzi.
