The staff were quite friendly and the room was quite big compared to other places ive stayed at in japan.

It is more than a hostel. It should be a 2-3 stars hotel. Will stay again

All is great except Two things. 1) directions to the hostel by train could be better if it was stated in the website from which Subway exit number (fyi its exit 5 if im Not mistaken) 2) because i travelled during winter, the toilet and shower was located outside of the dorm and its freezing in the middle of the night and I had to put on my winter jacket whenever i need to shower or go to the loo. Hence it was not convenient for me (the coldness literally wakes u up in the middle of the night). I won't stay here if i travel during winter.

It is a good place to be recommended for others. It only takes some mins to MTR Higashi-Hie and about 15mins to JR Hakata. The staff are very nice and helpful. Some can speak English, Putonghua and Cantonese. The room is very clean and has enough space for opening our 3 luggages at the same time. There is an activity space on G/F for us to share fun with friends every night.

Amazing service and, quite frankly, a beautiful property. Everything was pristine, guests were all respectful, and felt reasonably private despite shared rooms. Laundry was very reasonably priced as well. Breakfast is decent, and the common area is very well maintained. To be honest, everything here was perfect. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Hakata station. There're 24-hr convenient stores close by. Great amenities in a triple room. Amazing breakfast, especially potato salad! Highly recommend, we would definitely come back here again! Thank you montan Hakata Hostel! :)

It is very clean.

I stayed there overnight with my two daughters. We got a room to ourselves. The room had a bathroom and two bank beds and a TV. It was soooo nice! They also serve breakfast. I would stay there again and again!

The beds were a bit small for a tall person. The 10am checkout is too early - and the staff asked me for ¥500 when I asked if I could check out 1 hour later!

Had a great stay at montan hakata hostel. Very clean and accessible.

I like the location, the free breakfast/beverage and the shower room, but the bed not comfortable and I requested for low bed but they gave me bed at the top when the low bed is available after I went to the room. It’s very inconvenient for me to pack my luggage when I have to catch my early flight, also disturbed other guests, I hope they can read customer requests carefully.

This is a return stay after travelling to another city. Everything very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable. Spacious bed. Would choose this hostel again next time in Hakata.

Excellent location near subway station Higashi Hie and 15 minutes walk from JR Hakata Station. Modern, clean and cozy. Bed spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Fast check in and check out. Simple breakfast included which is good enough for me. This is my second time staying there. Recommended.

When I saw the photos and comments from the website, it was attractive for a lone traveler. In the photos, the lobby was chic and the dorm was neat! So, I booked a female dorm for 1 night, and expecting a comfort stay. The hostel was 8-10 mins walking distance from Hakata Station, location was not bad. The staff was helpful when check-in. Then, I went to my room and found my bed. Oh! It was an upper bunk bed. Actually, I had requested a lower bunk bed when I booked it. But I knew it was not compulsory that they satisfied my entire request, forget it! The bed was good; it had a small light, electricity sockets and sheets. But it would be more convenient if there was a shelf. So, I have to place my water bottle on the soft mattress, and worried it fell. I spent a warm and quiet night there! However, when I got up in the morning, and went toilet and shower room to prepare a new day, the cold air was freezing me, since the corridor was open-air, and I checked it was just 5 degree Celsius in that morning. I could accept all above disappointment, but the worst just happened! When I packed up my luggage and prepared to check out, 2 men unlocked the door and came in the room, and I found they shared the room with me! I was so confused!!! I remembered I had booked a FEMALE DORMITORY!! Why? These 2 men were sleeping next to me all night long?? But I was rushed to the station and could not complain to the front desk. Anyway, girls, good luck if you consider it!
