Firstly, do not expect the common mindset of having club lounge access. The lounge does not provide breakfast and there is only a tea time and bar time in the evening. Booking with club lounge access is also not having a private check in counter. Overall cleanliness is acceptable but the room cleaning is bare minimal if you do not place the “make up room sign” on the door everyday. Shower heating is also too sensitive with just a slight adjustment, the water will turn from cold to super hot. Location wise is also a bit far from the main Hakata station. Having to walk for 10 mins everyday when going out can be tiring

After getting sick at a hotel in Beppu, it was nice to get back to the Basics in Fukuoka. Hotel is quiet and has a library like quiet atmosphere. Rooms vary in size based on rates. Large rooms are available.

Stayed on 2nd floor not very nice with $500 US paid price. Hallway and exterior looked beated up. Room was clean inside overall.

About 10mins stroll to Hakata station. There is a convenient shop right beside it.
One of the nearest hotel to airport. Fare less than 2000yen.
The only thing perhaps is not so fascinating is the small bathroom/toilet.

I have been in the Basics for a number of times , great location and it’s still my first choice of hotel at Fukuoka. Always chose grade Episode to enjoy the lounge service .

The hotel interior was different to other hotels being circular. Location was about 5 minutes walk from the station.

The location is great because it’s close to the city, yet slightly away from the busy tourist areas, allowing for a quiet and clean Japanese living experience. The room is relatively spacious with modern, clean amenities. The high ceilings and elegant interior, similar to a British library, give it a European vibe, making the Japanese trip feel even more special.

The overall experience is great. Just that the vicinity of this hotel is kinda quiet, so you don’t really have much to do at night. But that’s different for everyone.

I stayed 5 nights due to typhoon in Kyushu so I cancelled my plan in Beppu and stayed in Hakata.
The location is good as you can walk to Hakata station in 7-10 minute and lots of restaurants nearby.
All staffs are super helpful and I would like to say thank you to Ms. Fujimoto at check-in as I got 3 separate bookings for entire stay cause plan changed due to typhoon. She is super helpful to sort it out for me and fulfil my request with my family .
Also Ms. Nana is super helpful too before my arrival as I need to arrange some parcel to send to hotel and I’m glad I can meet her to say thank you in person during my stay .

The staff can't communicate with English. The room is many equipments need to repair. The staff can't help guest to solve problem and always to say money. The hotel is not alike a hotel is more like a montel.

I stayed in this hotel few years ago before its name changed to Basic. I really like the location of this hotel. The service was good, but the staff was not as knowledgeable as before.
