A nice relaxing stay and welcome from the moment I stepped into the hotel. Food was good and 20% off food an unexpected bonus!

Although the room was generally clean and the bed was okay the shower cubicle showed signs of black mould but was mainly clean. Attention to detail is required

Location good. My room downstairs 216 terrible. Very dirty with sellotape holding lampshade and basin shelf together. Smells of oil and filters so blocked with dirt. Linen and towels v clean. Bed comfortable. TV dreadful.

Check in was straightforward and the receptionist friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. The only negative point was that the bed was hard which caused some discomfort to my wife. Overall, for a last minute booking, we were very happy.

I thought the room was in poor condition. The bathroom in particular was disappointing and many floor tiles were cracked and loose. The room carpet doesn’t quite meet the carpet runner at the bathroom door so the spikes of the runner aren’t fully covered - I found that out the hard way. While the restaurant is open, the room smells of oil which gave a bad first impression that is impossible to get past and has contributed to my overall negative opinion. The curtains in the room do give privacy but don’t block out light in the slightest. To be fair the bed was comfortable and it didn’t feel unclean. And the room was spacious. But I wished I’d booked somewhere else and even paused for a few minutes upon arrival to consider whether I could afford to write off the booking and find somewhere else (I couldn’t and didn’t). I thought this place was quite expensive for what it was offering. Perhaps other rooms in the hotel aren’t quite as disappointing so don’t just rely on this review, please do check out the others.

Overall a nice hotel, staff are lovely and friendly

We made a late self check in but it was so easy. The directions for self check in were so clear , no difficulties. Very responsive and helpful! There were kind to save our luggages after checking out until we leave the town. It was a nice stay.

The person at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating with my change in itinerary. I appreciated it very much.

Good place to stay for the price

I was looking for a place, close to the train station - without paying premium prices, for a short one night stay...and I told the young lady as I was leaving, that I would definitely stay there again one day soon...as it fitted the bill, in terms of expectations against price. In an incredibly expensive city, it gives great value for money - and the service of the staff, including Laksh(?) in the evening who ordered a taxi and knocked my door when it arrived, shows great customer service, regardless of price paid. Thank you.

It was very basic but comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a car park at the back.

All good, lots places to eat nearby and walkable to city centre, they had parking for both our vehicle's to, which is a massive bonus in Cambridge

Basic accommodation with a hostel feel; no staff for check out as they work 11-9. Room cramped.staff pleasant enough but this was not Value for money

Ideal for my needs, it was an old establishment, however the staff were great, and was quite happy with the onsite parking

No breakfast as staff on holiday. No flexibility on check out and being hounded dead on check out time to leave.

Clean, spacious rooms. The en suite is really great and there’s a bus stop right next to it which makes it easy to get around

I was arriving late at night.Self check in was arranged very well. A warm room waited on arrival. All very well cleaned. Nice bfsst,welcoming staff.

Stayed before. Tasty restaurant food. Convenient, walkable to the train station and city.

The hotel is in the same location as a Chinese restaurant. Every part of the hotel smelt as if it was in the restaurant, it was unbearable. The shower leaked out of the bathroom onto the carpet, meaning the bedroom carpet was wet when we arrived. We managed to guard against this while taking a shower but the whole bathroom and room felt damp. Decor is dated but not in itself an issue, that’s just visuals. Easy to walk into Cambridge centre, 30 mins down a straight road, and plenty of small supermarkets in the near for snacks etc,. I’d say this place is good as a last resort.

Walkable to Cambridge viewpoints. The room is little aged but still clean.

Comfortable beds, great staff all willing to help out with our requests (luggage storage, cell phone help, calling a taxi). We felt very welcome at the Crystal.
