Excellent location. Well equipped kitchen. Bright with lots of windows though the view is nothing to write home about. Spacious. There is a washer/dryer combo in the bathroom but good luck trying to program it (pictures on buttons give little clue what they are for). parking is a hazzle and you mayha e to park blocks away. We would stay there again if we returned to iceland.

Great location near the harbor. Communication was almost immediate and they let us check in early as we got off our cruise ship at 8 am. Comfortable beds and bonus there was a washer/dryer combo.

It was not cleaned . The toilet looked like someone had bad diarrhea and because there was only one toilet , I had to clean the toilet myself and it was nasty . The trash wasn’t taken out and the left over food was still in the cabinets and freezer . I fell for the excellent reviews and had the Worst experience I ever had . I didn’t plan to pay that kind of money and clean the nasty toilet . I waited almost two days but no response from owner or explanation on how this could happen . I sent all the pictures to the manager and she was apologetic and told me the owners will get back to me . Since then not even a single word . Disgusted

The location is amazing, right downtown near the harbor. Very comfortable stay, with everything you need. Parking can be tricky, but very doable to get a spot at least within a five minute walk, sometimes in front of the property, if you are lucky!

This apartment is PERFECTLY located in downtown and was the perfect place for our family vacation. Everything was amazing. Very comfortable bed, and even the foldout was comfortable for our son (with sensory problems). The only problem was with the Wi-Fi. It was a little slow, but definitely a minor inconvenience considering the location. We plan to visit Reykjavik again, soon, and we already decided that we will stay at the same place. Highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful stay here in Iceland. The apartment has all the amenities you need. Just right for 2 people. The entrance door to the building is just through an arch way. Street parking was free between 6pm - 9am, since we were out during the day exploring, it worked well for us.

Excellent apartment in every way… Good location, very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean .. My son used the sofa bed and it was very comfortable.

I loved this little apartment. Location was perfect, everything in the apartment was great for a week's stay. I would definitely stay again. If I had to make any criticisms it would be that the floor may have not been swept before we arrived properly, but everything else was imaculate, and that the washer/dryer actually didn't dry.. nor were there instructions in English how to use it. Some people found it hard to find however, I looked on google street view and found it easily. It's not got Grey apartments on it but the building is definitely Grey and the only one with an archway to access it. Door key pad is just under the archway and lock box for each apartment on the wall as you go in. You can also walk through the newly created courtyard with other apartments as a short cut to the old harbour. Save some money and stay here because there are supermarkets just 10 min walk away and they are reasonably priced.

So glad we stayed here! The apartment is beautiful on a quiet street with views of the harbor. Everything we needed was provided and within walking distance to great restaurants. Excellent stay!!

Nice property., but note, there is no elevator so you have to carry luggage up 3 flights. Also liked that we could access the Exexter Hotel by a few stairso between the pdoperties, so we could get breakfast.

Really nice quiet area, nice neat apartment and the hosts were lovely and got back to us quickly.

Lovely apartment within 5-10 mins of downtown. It has all the basics for cooking, everything was really clean. Download the “parka” app for easier paid parking, it also shows the free parking spots (everything that’s not colored). There’s free parking up the street. Book your northern lights tour for your first night and all the other day tours for the next day after you land because weather is really unpredictable here. There’s nothing but amazing restaurants around. We’re definitely coming back!

This is a very nice, clean, spacious apartment. It has all the amenities you're likely to need and there are some reasonably priced eating options within walking distance. It is also well located for getting to the harbour and city hall, where both tours and the airport bus can be picked up. My only minor complaint is that at the time of booking my confirmation said check out was 12pm but this was later changed to 10am. 12pm would have been perfect for catching our return flight but as it was we were left wandering around with our luggage, because there was no where to store it.

Great location. Easy stroll to old town and harbor. Apt was very clean and well appointed.

It was lovely to have a full kitchen. The entry procedures were clear and easy to follow. A great spot if you enjoy walking to a plethora of nearby activities in downtown. Parking is a bit awkward as it is street parking…but it seemed to work ok for the shoulder season.

Check in was stressful. There is no sign indicating #16 on the building. The name on the box with apartment doorbells states Grey Apartments, whereas the property is listed Vesturgata on Expedia. No option to store luggage. Had to pay extra for luggage storage. Bathroom and bedroom have mould smell. Good apartment but lacks the basic conveniences such as clear door signage and luggage storage.

Property were as described. Great location and clean. Great communications, the only negative thing is that we were told we were on the 2nd floor and when we got there we were on the 3rd floor and no elevator. So had to climb up three floor with 4 suitcase. Overall good stay.

The apartment itself is great. Very modern, very clean, everything was in working order. There was a small amount of various amenities for the kitchen like salt, pepper, and sugar but no coffee for the coffee pot (didn't expect there to be anything just letting others know). The location is great, very walkable to shops/restaurants/bars/tourist attractions in Reykjavik. There is street parking in front but we were almost never able to secure parking there. I can't imagine parking in the city is any easier anywhere else. The owners sent us a very detailed message before check in with door codes and a brief synopsis on parking in Reykjavik which was very helpful. There was a washer in the apartment but no dryer, and I later learned it might actually have been a combo which I had never heard of before! The only thing I found to be lacking was any help locating the apartment. No where in the booking or email from the owners did it mention it was called "Grey Apartments Reykjavik" and there is no number on the building when you find it. So it was not easy to find and when we found it since we had no idea it was called Grey Apartments we just started pushing buttons on the security pad because we assumed it had to be that. It was! It is a dark grey building with an arch you walk into to get to the door. Otherwise this was a great place to stay, the bed was comfy, and my mother and daughter slept on the pull out couch and said for a pull out it was very comfy.

Very nice apartment, near restaurants and shops. You need to pay for street parking. Only complaint is water has a strong sulfur smell, we stayed all over Iceland during our trip and this was the only property that had this problem, not sure why???

Long review here.. for a long stay. We did a 9 day honeymoon in Iceland. I researched and planned my butt off. Location: Excellent. So happy with the location of this Apt. in downtown, but not in the center. Walkable to everything! on the harbour, and not as noisy as the center is. Safety- Safe street with 2nd door code entry. no one could come to our door, or follow us. interior- everything was great and comfortable, with extras in the kitchen that we would have forgotten. one note that would be a great add, an english manual for washer/dryer. all the modes and options were pictures,and the manual included was in 5 languages that did not include english. I finally figured it out on the last night. we actually missed out flight to iceland due to a connection delay, and had to wait another 24 hours for the next flight. I alerted the owners and they were very nice. no front desk, no contact, all check-in and out procedures were emailed to us and very simple. Could not get the pull out sofa to work.
