When you factor in reasonable rates and location, it’s a great place to stay in Cruz Bay and hard to beat. Only a few minute walk to taxi stand and downtown bars/restaurants, so no need to rent a vehicle while staying here. I’d take taxi to beaches each day and not have to worry about finding parking.
As others have said, rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant and small bar on site, and Provisions next door and Dolphin Market around corner. Really good breakfast, and dinner was great when I’ve had it here before. Fridge in room. Beach chairs and coolers provided for day at beach and bar will provide ice for cooler. Remember - no glass permitted on beaches, so buy cans if you plan to take some brews to beach. Good selection of adult beverages at nearby Dolphin Market.
Only “drawback” is there are several roosters in close proximity who enjoy practicing their vocals come 4:00am or so, but that’s the same as in many other places I’ve stayed in USVI’s and BVI’s! Free entertainment is how I see it! :)

Another wonderful stay! The manager Stephanie is AWESOME!!! So accommodating and responsive with messages. Every year I stay at the Tamarind Inn. It’s a really great price, budget friendly especially for solo travelers and probably the least expensive price on St. John. And their outdoor restaurant was wonderful. Great good, nice portions, quick service and the best prices on the Island.

Woken up every morning by a rooster outside our door. They did provide ear plugs. Also new construction going on across the street adds to noise. Not their fault but.

This was the perfect spot for our vacation.
We walked into town every day and had delicious meals on site at the restaurant. Christina was the best and went above and beyond at making us feel at home! The chefs Christin and Jason are so talented and we ate some of the best food on the island there! We loved the staff!!! The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Property is a walkable distance to shops and restaurants. There’s even a restaurant on property which is convenient. It was nice that they had beach chairs and noodles available for people to take and return. Bathroom was a little dated. Great customer service throughout. Check in and check out process was convenient and efficient.

The staff at Tamarind Court was very welcoming and went above and beyond to help me when I had a problem during my stay. The location is very convenient, near Cruz Bay and a supermarket. I would recommend the double bed rooms for a very comfortable, enjoyable stay on St John!

This is a great base in Cruz Bay with short walking access to the national park and the town. Rooms are very simple but you spend most of your time outside at Saint John. They have a very good restaurant that is reasonably priced that is open weekdays.

We loved our stay at Tamarind. It was a last minute reservation and we expected the worst. But it turned out great. While there was no daily room cleaning they did refresh towels mid week. Location is very walkable to the town and fun restaurant at the hotel. Many fun things to do close by.

Walkways need some work and getting in and out of the parking lot was horrible. But everything was clean. They are trying as they recover from the hurricanes.

Great location , close to bars, market, taxies, ferry. Enjoyed my stay. Love the beaches and the national park. I plan on staying there again. I had a single room with a shared bath. Very reasonable priced and met some interesting people. 2 baths for 6 rooms. Outside Restaurant and bar on the property. Their was a soft sided cooler in the room i used to take beer, water and fruit to the beach and i got ice from the Restaurant and i tipped them.

Updated rooms and very clean. Excellent reasonably priced restaurant on the property- good food. Free small breakfast to guests that was great (fruit and a sweet bread, coffee or tea). Within walking distance to most things in Cruz Bay but far enough away from most of the bad traffic. Friendly staff. Only negatives were the free roaming roosters that woke us up every morning between 4-5 am. But they have no control over that. Although there was free parking, there weren’t very many spaces. But we always got a spot. Beach towels and chairs provided. Price was quite high but most everything was on the island.

They provided lots of extras, sunscreen lotion, ointment for sunburn, fully stocked kitchenette, maps and info of the area. Suite was very large and comfortable, except the bathroom, which barely had room to turn around in.

The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean. The outside of the facility was very run down, does not look like the photo in the ad. Anywhere there was concrete or stone, it was in need of paint and repair. The room was simple and spare, but very clean. Was at times noisy due to being right on a very busy street. The location was convenient to walking downtown and the National Park. No places to sit outside unless it was when guests were not eating, then you could use the tables in the little courtyard. The food was good and reasonable. We only stayed there to be able to walk to the National Park and not rent a car. If you are not expecting a resort or luxury accommodations, it would be fine for a few days. You need transportation to get to the beaches, unless you are a good walker.

In my hotel room, I noticed dust on the furniture and the floor wasn't clean, requiring me to tidy up. Additionally, there was a persistent, unpleasant, humid smell that made it difficult to breathe initially. I had to refresh the room for a day to make it more tolerable, suspecting the issue might be related to the air conditioning.

Tamarind inn reflex the island of Saint Johns, with its laid back feel, Enjoyed the breakfast in the court yard. Located in town so easy to walk from Ferry docs or to restaurants or shops. Also has parking for those with a car.
