Booked for one night, stayed for 3. Friendly staff. Ate tasty, filling, breakfasts and lunches there. Right on beach, but also a convenient pool for a quick dip. Easy to walk up to main road, or along beach to other bars and restaurants too. Will stay there again next time I get to TNPY.

The location, the stuff, the restaurant were very good.

The room had a very bad smell from drainage that we complain about but the place didn't offer any solution for this problem. We were staying in this smelly room for 8 night ! it was horrible ! It was rainy for 3 days of our stay there and the roof above the balcony was leaking so bad that we needed to stay inside the room that was very smelly. We will not come to this place again.

Excellent value for money, right on the beach. If you want a 5 star resort, this is not for you. Pens Bungalows and others like it are the reason why we have been visiting Thailand for 20 years. Unpretentious and friendly, they treat you like family. You can easily walk along the beach to other bars and restaurants but we found Pens had really delicious food at a better price. One of the highlights of our stay was the staff, every staff member from housekeeping, the kitchen, reception and the restaurant were friendly and kind. It was our first stay at Pens but we will definitely come back.

Location, it’s a nice beach

Overall it was just super sad. It misses love and care! It looked like somebody has abandoned the place - things were broken, dirty (paper in the pool, garbage everywhere you look, even the room were you couldn’t see through the bathroom mirror and so on). Staff was sleeping or lying somewhere and we had to wake them up in the middle of the day to get help with a toilet that didn’t work. In the end nobody cares are you there or not. We booked the place for 5 nights but couldn’t stay longer than one.

Too much chlorine in the pool, hurts your eyes, and the kids got a bit of a rash from it under their Swimwear ( I do have to say they were in the pool for many hours). Staff doesn't seem to be very happy to have you as a guest

The bungalow was cosy, nicely decorated, with a nice outside patio. The location on the beach was very good. This beach/sea is good for swimming during the entire day, in August. On the west coast the tide is low until the afternoon during this month at least.

The staff was not always approaching us friendly. That made it a bit less comfortable. In general in Thailand the people are much more hospitable.

The location was great. The bungalows are right on the beach, and the beach is gorgeous. The rooms are quite basic but the owners seem to the in the process of updating. However, the rooms and bathroom were perfectly clean. The restaurant was open long hours and the food was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pen's is located in the middle of the beach so it is easy to explore the whole beach from here. There is a nice pool overlooking the beach that the kids loved. We would definitely stay here again. We were traveling with three kids aged 9-12, and four adults.

the place wasn’t really kept up and the food came frozen inside. Their cats are fed on the top of the tables in the restaurant and bar. basic bungalow.

The beach is beautiful and the bungalows are in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay at the family bungalow. There are beautiful beach bars and restaurants along the beach and the hotel's own restaurant is also great.

It would be beautiful to have some plants along the white wall of the pool. The rest of the garden is beautiful.

We stayed in a bungalow overlooking the pool (and beach) and the beach is absolutely beautiful, there were no more than 10 tourists on the entire beach at any time, so if you want a silent beach - this is your place! The pool is a good size and our son spent all day swimming in it. The food in the restaurant was also good and not extortionate when compared with some other places, though we chose to eat along the road each day where you can get some amazing pancakes and good coffee! They also offer pretty reasonable prices on longtail boat tours, which though we didn't take one, I think can be customised to your preference. The staff were all very friendly and happily organised us a taxi to/from Thong Sala (which is quite a journey).

- There was an ants nest behind the bathroom shelf, which they dealt with promptly (by spraying) but there was still ants elsewhere in the wall, so something I think that needs to be addressed, though it didn't disturb us too much except not being able to bring the children into the room for a while to let the fumes disappear. - While the beach is beautiful, it's really secluded, so you need to rent a car/scooter to get anywhere, including 7-11 which was also closed when we were there. (They did reduce the price of the scooter for me though as I just rode over the hill to 7-11 and back pretty much, and gave them the keys after 1/2 day. - We had to leave early due to the sandflies, my wife was eaten alive on our first day by sandflies, so we couldn't go on the beach and they even reached her at the pool. I suspect this is as a result of COVID/low season and the beach being virtually unused. - There was no water or kettle provided, though the latter we requested and they gave us no problem. Overall I think the bungalow we stayed in could use some TLC but following the COVID impact it doesn't surprise me they're in a little bit poor shape.
