A really pleasant and quirky place to stay.

The Crown Manor House Hotel in Lyndhurst, England is a wonderful place to stay when you're exploring the New Forest area in Hampshire. A historical property with friendly and accomodating staff (they seem genuinely happy to be of service), and clean, comfy rooms. Cheerful and well maintained public rooms with interesting architectural features. The full English breakfast was delicious, and the outer courtyard was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the hotel's happy hour. Special kudos to front desk clerk Peter, whose personable manner and effort to get us in our room early on a busy bank holiday was much appreciated. Great location on High Street right across from historic St. Michael's and All Angels Church with its pre-Rafaelite stained glass windows and high Gothic interior. Lyndhurst is a delightful village with interesting shops and cafes and friendly people. Plus one couldn't be closer to the beauty of the New Forest area.

Enjoyed our stay at the crown manor hotel. The room was clean and big enough for our family of 4 and the dog. The staff were really helpful and attentive.

This is a good hotel with lovely spacious rooms and a great little garden area. Breakfast had everything we wanted and didn't end too early, which was great for us late sleepers! The beds were really comfy, the hotel was quiet at night & had air conditioning. It would have been useful to have a little fridge to keep water cool as it was very hot when we visited. The only down side is the one way road system, which is constantly backed up, but which you have to navigate to get to the hotel parking area. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We had a lovely stay on our trip to beaulieu for Simply Aston … location was great despite the local traffic being very heavy … the only issue I would say was the happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails … you had to have 2 of the same which was a little limiting! Evening meal was really nice … couldn’t fault it.

Property was nice. More suitable for older guests. It was very hot during my stay so was disappointed to not have AC of a fridge in the room. There was 1 fan for 3 people provided, but staff provided a other uppn request.

Great location

Excellent staff and excellent dining. Coped easily with gluten and dairy food allergies with the chef and staff going the extra mile to ensure an excellent dinner. Amenities around the hotel are excellent and all of Lyndhurst is walkable and access to the New Forest is easy.

Easy to find. Had to wait for someone to arrive to check in. Bedroom was on the small side but comfortable bed and clean sheets. Snug bathroom but had everything that was needed. We had a drink from the bar and were allowed to take it in the garden which was lovely. Only out there for one glass of wine and came in find bar locked up and no one around. Booked time slot for breakfast but was no available table when we arrived. Took 15 minutes and me finding a member of staff once we had a table to order tea/coffee. Maybe staff shortages but very unorganised and no one explained what was available for breakfast. We just got up and helped ourselves. Water had run out. The gentleman on the table next to us had medicine to take and waited his whole breakfast for a glass of water.

Very clean and central

Beautiful hotel inside and out. Parking on site. Fantastic service. Food and drink was fab, especially Happy hour, which was 2-4-1 on cocktails. Decent buffet breakfast with healthy options including fresh fruit salad. The room we had was a snug double, it had plenty of room for our short stay and was clean and organised, everything you could need. Our only complaints were that the ironing board was dirty and needed a new cover, the iron was not a steam iron so wasnt great and there was zero air flow in the room resulting in a poor nights sleep. There was only one small openable window which was up high, I'm 6"4 so was fine for me but my partner is 5"4 and would have struggled. The air conditioning unit was atrocious, it made awful noises and barely blew a breeze. We couldnt sleep with it on for noise, we couldn’t sleep with it off for the heat. Saying that we would definitely return and just opt for a different room. It was quiet all night and in the perfect position for exploring the New Forest.

Breakfast requires some improvement, for a hotel, the standard English breakfast is truly below par. Salty and soggy bacon, mushroom with strange taste. Otherwise great hotel.

We booked a one night after a day at peppa pig world. Hotel is nice but I would say it’s very child friendly. This maybe due to ages of the other guests (older generations) we felt it was uncomfortably quiet. We ate out for this reason and when we returned to have a drink we went to garden with our 2 & 5 year olds. Rooms clean and comfortable & breakfast was nice with lots to choose from. I would go back again as a couple but not with the children.

The hotel is lovely, our room & bathroom were so clean & spacious. Friendly staff & nice cocktails. Let down by breakfast, it’s self service & mostly cold, toaster was so slow & pastries never topped up.

Overall a good stay. Firstly, the hotel is very nicely decorated and has a welcoming feel to it. It’s located on the high street but inside very quiet. I had the snug room. Room was very comfortable and cosy. Bathroom was nice. The whole room decor was very nice. Window had a view of the roof so not much to look at. No fridge. No slippers. No robes. No bottled water. When asking for bottled water I was told they drink tap water. Just a way to save money is the way I see it. Furniture in the room is all scratched and some dirt. Not 100% clean. The bed was on wheels and not secure. kept rolling . Needs updating. Bathroom was nice and cosy. Nice sink. Nice rainfall shower. Nice toiletries. None of that 10ml rubbish that runs out instantly. They had nice stocked bottles of toiletries. Moving onto breakfast, they had a buffet style breakfast. Was good but could be tastier. More bakery options needed. Served cold milk with the tea/coffee. Why do hotels do this? Please warm the milk. No spa/gym which is ok if you know in advance. They have a games room and library instead which was nice. They have an outside courtyard at the back. Good if you want a quiet outdoors space to relax. Finally, their lift is a pleasure to use. Apparently the oldest in Europe. Service needs to improve. Reception empty half the time. To check out I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to come just to check out. Not good enough considering I was on a tight schedule. Overall a good stay but needs improvement.

Beautiful and charming property right in the heart of the village. Very clean and well kept. The hotel staff are warm, extremely professional and accommodating. So glad I discovered this hotel, I look forward to returning.

Hotel location was good. Lovely atmosphere. Well kept with Lovely garden to sit in with easy chairs. Breakfast was buffet style and not up to the standard expected of a hotel of this standard and price. Had better premier inn breakfasts.Quirky and interesting lift. Bedroom was roomy and quiet. All in all a pleasant stay and would stay again

Good property but on busy road and rooms are small for what you pay.

We booked a De Lux Double room and found Bed comfortable Pillows old and without substance that went flat as soon as you put your head on them. No air Con or fan ( very hot night) The only ventilation was one window opening onto the garden where the noise was so loud from residents/drinker until midnight that it was impossible to sleep. no double glazing so even when closed the noise was bad. It would take a lot of persuasion for me to stay there again (including ear plugs) Staff great but when we ordered a coffee in the garden the next day they "forgot" but genuinely apologised

A very pleasant stay in an exceptionally well managed hotel. Quality service, great food, and a high standard of room. I will come back.

Nice hotel , good location … great service

It was a lovely couple of nights. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. If we ever go back to the New Forrest, we are definitely staying here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

A nice place for a break in the New Forest. Lovely character room with comfortable bed and pillows. Very attentive staff made you feel valued. A good breakfast in a light and airy room was a pleasure.

Lovely stay. We will definitely visit again but we will get a better room as this time we booked a snug and we would like to have a bigger room next time

Character of the property and internal features were lovely. Felt welcoming, smelt nice and clean and staff were superb, everyone of them and will be going back again soon.
