Extremely up set with a male receptionist as he was very rude when during our stay we continually had problems with key card and as I don't like lifts had to walk up and down stairs numerous times during our stay so asked to see manager to which he replied he would give me the same answer but I still insisted to which he I need to change my tone of voice at 68yrs of age with grandchildren older than him I don't take lightly to a very rude young gentleman!. Management I must say we're very nice couldn't apologise enough but upset our weekend also television did not work. I do want to add other staff were very nice helpful and polite.

friendly staff, very clean hotel, thought there would be a maid service but there wasn't, we wernt told beforehand we had to pay per night for parking, nice and close to the town. would stay there again.

I had requested a low floor but they initially didn’t have one but a bit of juggling from helpful staff and we were given one

Very Impromptu Visit, only went to Southport for the day to visit a couple of our favourite bars and Italian restaurant, but ended up staying later than we expected to so checked into the Prince of Wales for the night. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

Good value hotel in the middle of town. No frills but reasonably priced with clean bedding and decent facilities.

Very comfortable and stress free stay with the exception of some room doors banging during the night. It’s wonderful to be able to include our dog during an away break. We will return.

The hotel was clean and reception staff very friendly. We were put into a very small room with a small double bed which has to be the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. The hotel was not full so I can't understand why we had such a grotty room, the window had broken glass and the room felt in need of a good overhaul. We put up with it as we were only staying one night, but I would not stay there again, which is a shame as it is well located in Southport. To add insult to injury, I was charged twice for the booking which I was not aware about until I looked at my credit card account when I got home. This resulted in me having to phone and email the hotel to resolve. However they did apologise and refunded it straight away, but the warning is check your account if you stay there.

hotel and town full of Victorian architecture. having work done but did not affect our stay, scaffolding at the front was coming down as we left. comfy bed, nice bathroom. good value.

Always a pleasure to stay in this hotel, the rooms are generous in size, bathrooms are massive and very well priced hotel.

What about prince of wales Staff very friendly. Anything to help you? The stay was excellenthe will be going again. Give it a try. I give it 10 out of 10

Brill value for money

Rooms are clean except for a few issues sink blocking in bathroom, kettle kept turning on by itself and the plugs a bit doggy in the main room. Staff are lovely work hard and very pleasant

Had a great stay, pity about the entertainment at the night, considering it was a Friday and Saturday night we stayed, the entertainment was from down the road that you listen to through the day. It could be so much better! Otherwise staff was very friendly.

Parking not included, carpark costs £6 per day. Internet not included- costs £7 per day. Listed as dog friendly but dogs are an additional £10 per pet and no bowls or beds provided for this additional cost. Beds uncomfortable, bedding full of gritty substance meaning we both were itchy and the heating in the room was unbearable. Windows opened slightly but this didn't help the stifling ambiance of the room. Satisfactory for price and to stay overnight.. but would not stay again nor recommend to others.

Rainy 2 days.... But a nice , clean , Old Fashioned Hotel ..

Looking for a bed for the night it’s an ok place to say. Decor and rooms in general are very dated. Beds can be hit or miss. I’ve stayed a few times and sometimes the bed is ok, sometimes you wonder if the mattress was a token gesture.

Dirty hotel. The room was cold and damp. Staff were very nice.

Quite an old hotel, undergoing some renovation.The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The current owners Britannia don't have the best of reputations but I had no complaints about the Prince of Wales and would stay there again.

Poor dining options

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and there was plenty of jot water. The room was lovely and warm, I fact a little too warm during the night. We parked very easily. They were starting to take down the scaffolding so that should give them more parking for the summer. When we return to the hotel for bed, people were being entertained in the big reception room with drinks.

Most impressed didn’t pay a great deal of money so I didn’t expect much so when I arrived it was a pleasant surprise made a note that next time I’m working there this will be my first choice oh and a good breakfast as well as being served at a good time ( 07:30 )

Ideal location on lord street close too shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly and welcoming. No complaints.
