This was probably the dingiest hotel we have stayed in in North America. Even though it says it’s non-smoking it smelled of smoke throughout. The air conditioning and air circulation wasn’t working so it was incredibly hot and stuffy. The condition was clean but the interior itself hasn’t been updated since the 70s, probably since smoking was allowed which is why it still stinks. We booked this place for the pool but it was so hot we could barely swim in it, the hot tub was even more hot and uncomfortable. We would never stay here again. Super overpriced for a 1-star hotel.

While this hotel was basically clean, the lobby smelled of smoke and the rooms were very outdated. We didn't eat the continental breakfast as it didn't start until 9:30.

Showing signs of age. Everything was clean and functional. Fan in lobby needed due to excessive heat very noisy but effective,

King size bed was super comfy! Got a pretty good sleep with ear plugs blocking out the highway noise. Stayed there for the pool but it was very warm with a lot of chemicals in it with a creepy/dark atmosphere. Hot tub was hot but could use a good scrub. My husband sat on a step and ruined his swim trunks by getting some knid of sticky caulking on them. Place needs updating and TLC.

We really liked the room and the bathroom fixtures in particular. A second basin wi5th soap and towels was next to the bathroom, so two people could wash at the same time.. Unforunately we had very noisy upstairs occupants, who seemed to spend their time unpacking and repacking!

Very old facility, musty, dusty, smokey, and overpriced! This lodge needs extensive renovations or should be demolished!

Great location.. Carpets need to be changed!!! Halls smelled like cigarettes and a pub yuck!!! Artificial plastic plant decor full of dirt and dust !! Better off to throw them out …. The inside of rooms are kept clean and the beds we’re comfortable… Just need to update the halls, carpets .

Room was spacious with a small stocked kitchenette. Small tv. Halls reaked of smoke although no smoking is allowed on property. Limited parking and the hours for the continental breakfast were very late. 930-11am.

Close to everything. Easy check in. Plenty of space for 4 adults two kids.

There was very little staff and when we came in there were people working but nobody acknowledged we were waiting. It wasn't a bad hotel but it could use improvement. I would probably stay again if necessary.

Travelling as a family, paid more for a hotel with a larger room, pool, and continental breakfast. POOL - pool is dimly lit cement hole in the ground, we didn't end up using. BREAKFAST - had an email advising that breakfast would be limited to cold items, which is disappointing but was still expecting access to cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. The email failed to say that breakfast is only available 930am-11am. Food access is locked, as in padlocks on fridges. We were on the road before 9 so no breakfast for us. ROOM - room layout was great for a family, but it was a bit musty/smoky smelling and very loud.

Pros and cons. Room is ok for one night. Not a dive but its basic. Recent renos it looks like...walls, beds, bathroom. The rooms are small and for $187 a night 4 people I would expect a little more. The breakfast option is a continental style hard boiled egg, yogurt and dried up muffins. This is not mentioned on their website. It says breakfast included which I would assume is more than a continental snack. The hours for the front desk are odd. Closes at 9 pm and opens at 9:30 am along with the breakfast area. So much for getting an early start for travellers.... The air conditioning was less than ideal. Turned on full blast with a high temp of 26 C that day with arrival at 6 pm and the ac could not keep the temp below 24 C overnight. It was uncomfortably warm. Would I stay at this property again? No. Would i recommend it? No. Then again I dont know what other hotels are like in Hope. Maybe this is the standard of quality of all the hotels in this part of the Fraser Valley? Shop around is my advice.

We stayed here after a wedding. There are limited options for lodging in Hope, and this is the only “name brand” one. The property hasn’t been updated in potentially 30 years so it’s musky, but the rooms are large. The room and property was not worth the almost $200 we spent for the night, but it did the job for 8 hours of sleep.

The main office is only open from 9:30 am until 9:00 pm. The so called continental breakfast doesn’t start until 9:30 am. The place smelled of cigarettes when I walked into the office. Our room wasn’t vacuumed, the dishes in the cupboard were dirty. When it comes to washing the dishes you have to use the bathroom sink because there is no other sink. That bathroom sink had no plug either. Parking was a joke with only one handicapped spot that was utilized by a non-handicapped vehicle. There are no identifiable lights on the main road that let you know where the Travelodge is. Very dark. The price is way too high for what you get.

Horrible customer service. Showed up 8 minutes after 9 pm.....was informed check in was before 9 and we no longer had a reservation. Apparently I should have informed the road construction crew to let us go faster as we needed to be there at 8:59....not a second later! Never will stay at a Travelodge ever again! Worst customer service/experience I have ever had!

Smells like stale smoke, dead ants all over, run down/moldy/peeling walls and missing trim…horribly overpriced for zero maintenance to the building.

Hotel well serves for 1 night stay. A bit outdated, but our suite had everything we needed, even separate room with kitchen. Breakfast to go is quite nice but starts a bit late - 9:30. Special thanks to the staff for their great service! They could locate and secure our valuables we left behind and we picked it up on our way back. Thank you Barbara and Andrea! Overall good stay

The overpriced room came with a free breakfast till 11am. We got there around 10:50 and they refused to give us breakfast. I would have actually been totally fine with that as we were cutting it close but the food was yogurt and granola bars with tea and coffee. I asked if we could grab a coffee to go as it wasn't 11 yet and the woman barked at us, said it was 11, and locked up the cabinets. This is probably a good thing cause the smell of stale cigarettes in there was overwhelming.

Room was a good size but need was horrible. Hot tub was colder than the pool. Breakfast was just before checkout home which was very inconvenient. Overall, would not stay out recommend

This is a basic hotel with no frills the not so friendly staff did help the situation. Of all the hotels that we stayed in Canada this was the worst.

The property smelt of smoke m, the rooms were dirty and unclean.

There was absolutely nothing about this property and our room that we liked. The manager was ignorant and our room stunk of smoke, and was the filthiest Hotel room I've stayed in ever. This Hotel should be demolished

Good staff

Air conditioning did not work. Very hot in the room all night. The hallway was cooler. One of our reading light bulbs was loose and had fallen against the lamp shade. Both were reported upon check out

Limited front desk staffing, prepackaged breakfast items available at 930, when most overnight travellers have left. OK to spend overnight but not longer.

Lobby smelled of cigarette smoke, no top sheet on one of the beds so didn’t use the blanket, continental breakfast items such as granola bars and muffins all gone , got a sorry no sheets and a shrug

Nice place in the 1980’s. Real tired now. WiFi real bad. Tried to plan our travel for the next day using Maps and couldn’t do it. Ice machine broken. 32 deg C. Avoid this place.

This hotel is very dated and you must check in by 9pm which seems very early. The front desk clerk was very nice but the hotel desperately needs to be renovated.

The included breakfast didn’t start until 9:30 am, far too late in the day for us travellers, so we had to leave earlier, without any breakfast.
